Skip the Scrubbing! What Spring Task Would You Hand Off First?
Spring chores are one of those things that sound satisfying in theory…
but in reality? Most of us would rather be sipping iced tea on the porch
than scrubbing windows or hauling bins from the attic.
So I asked: If you could magically skip one spring chore, which would it
be? And the responses came rolling in.
Far and away, washing all the windows took the top spot. No surprise
there—especially since spring sunlight tends to highlight every single
smudge.
A close runner-up? Cleaning out the garage or attic. As one reader put it,
“My attic holds overflow because I don’t have a garage, basement, or
pantry. I’d love to reduce what’s in there to a bare minimum.”
Others couldn’t pick just one. “Actually, all of the above,” another reader
admitted. “I’d love to have someone do all the work, then sit back and
enjoy the experience of a beautiful, clutter-free, and clean home.”
And one of our favorite answers? “Washing patio furniture.” Because if
you’re going to skip chores, you might as well skip straight to relaxing in
the sunshine.
Thanks to everyone who weighed in. And if you do find yourself doing
any of these chores, don’t forget to reward yourself afterward. (Yes,
sitting on a freshly cleaned patio totally counts.).
