According to Get More Done's recent study of employee productivity, Employees do their hardest work between 9 AM and 12 PM. After that, it's all down hill. I’ve asked people time and time again if they are more productive in the morning, afternoon, or evening. The majority tell me they’re most productive first thing in the morning. So, how do you get that morning productivity to carry on to the afternoon and evening portions of the day? Here are three ways I stay energized and productive until it’s time for bed... 1. Keep Moving: When I begin to get tired, or bored, I get up from my desk and take a walk if it’s a nice day outside. Alternately, I might run up and down the stairs a few times to get my blood pumping, or run a quick errand...anything to get me away from my desk. By the time I get back, I’m more alert to continue my afternoon and evening tasks and projects. 2. Play your favorite songs: If nobody is watching...hey, even if they are...dance to a few of your favorite high-energy tunes. This is sure to get you going strong again. 3. Take a power nap: Set a timer for 20 minutes and take a quick power-nap. Sometimes you just have to rest for a few minutes before you can begin again. But beware, if your nap time goes over 20 minutes, you’re likely going to be even more tired than before! Once the 20 minutes are up, do some quick standing stretches or jog in place for 15  seconds. Then, drink a cold glass of water and you should be all set for another project or two.
