PRINTABLE ORGANIZING CHECKLIST: Click here for PDF Printable Organizing Checklist Click here for Basic Text Printable Organizing Checklist ____ Aug 1 Refresh your pantry for summer. Open your pantry and toss any stale chips, expired s’mores ingredients, or nearly-empty barbecue sauces. Wipe the shelves while you're at it. ____ Aug 2  Declutter your lawn games. Sort your outdoor games: cornhole, bocce, frisbees, etc. Get rid of anything broken or unused. Store what’s staying in a weatherproof bin. ____ Aug 3  Clean up your front entry. Sweep your front step or entry walkway. Shake out the doormat, remove cobwebs, and water any planters. Maybe get a new fall-themed doormat to welcome your guests…and yourself! ____ Aug 4  Sort your travel-sized toiletries. Empty your travel toiletry stash. Toss expired items and group like with like: shampoo minis together, toothpaste tubes together. ____ Aug 5  Audit your spice drawer. Sniff-test your spices. If the scent is weak, it's probably time to replace. Wipe down the drawer and put everything back alphabetized. ____ Aug 6  Organize pet supplies. Sort your pet’s gear (leashes, brushes, toys, treats.) Toss worn items and create a designated pet drawer or basket. ____ Aug 7  Clear off your coffee table. Remove mail, old magazines, remotes you don't use, and cups. Keep only a decorative item or two and a coaster. ____ Aug 8  Wipe down indoor trash cans. Take kitchen and bathroom bins outside and hose them down with dish soap and water. Let them dry in the sun. ____ Aug 9  Bookmark your upcoming fall dates. Add early fall events, sports practices, and school meetings to your calendar. A little pre-planning saves big headaches. ____ Aug 10  Prep your child’s backpack. Wipe down last year’s backpack or lunchbox. Donate it if your child is getting a new one, or repack if still in use. Look at this adorable sushi backpack! ____ Aug 11  Tidy the space under a bed. Pull everything out from under one bed. Vacuum the area and only return what truly belongs there. Use labeled containers if needed. ____ Aug 12  Wash your shower curtain and liner. Take down your shower curtain and liner. Toss the liner in the wash with towels and baking soda. Hang to dry in the sun if possible. Maybe swap out your shower curtain for the upcoming fall season. I love this Boho one. ____ Aug 13  Review your recipe binder. Flip through your recipe binder or folder. Toss pages you never use and flag favorite easy weeknight meals. ____ Aug 14  Unsubscribe from unwanted email. Open your inbox and unsubscribe from 5 email newsletters or promotions that no longer interest you. ____ Aug 15 Clean out your medicine cabinet. Toss expired medications and sample packets. Wipe the shelves and re-sort the keepers. ____ Aug 16 Take inventory of your freezer. Open your freezer and write down the first five things you want to use up this month. Bonus points if it clears a bin or drawer. ____ Aug 17  Simplify your nightstand drawer. Turn your nightstand drawer into a sleep-friendly zone: tissues, lip balm, and maybe a journal. Remove clutter like unnecessary cords, excess pens, and old receipts. ____ Aug 18  Reduce shoe clutter by the door. Sort shoes by the door. Wipe the mat and reduce the clutter to one pair per person if possible. ____ Aug 19  Check expiration dates on sunscreen. Inspect expiration dates on sunscreen and bug repellent. Toss any expired bottles and store the rest neatly in a bin. ____ Aug 20  Round up your rain gear. Gather umbrellas, ponchos, and rain boots. Clean muddy items and store them in an easy-to- grab spot before fall storms hit. ____ Aug 21  Declutter one digital photo album. Choose one album on your phone or computer and delete blurry or duplicate photos. ____ Aug 22  Set up a mail sorting station. Designate a mail station with a tray, letter opener, pen, and recycling bin. Make it your go-to spot for daily paper control. ____ Aug 23 Create a school command center. Set up a family calendar or file folder system for incoming school papers, forms, and reminders. ____ Aug 24  Declutter a bathroom drawer. Pick one drawer and toss dried-out cosmetics, empty floss containers, and unused freebies. ____ Aug 25  Wipe down your freezer exterior. Quickly wipe down the front and handles of your refrigerator and freezer. Sticky fingerprints? Use a vinegar-water spray. ____ Aug 26  Organize a closet corner. Tackle the messiest corner of your bedroom or hall closet. Pull everything out and return only what you want to use this fall. ____ Aug 27  Restyle a shelf or bookcase. Choose one bookshelf or open shelf. Remove everything, wipe it clean, and restyle with fewer, more intentional items. ____ Aug 28  Remove clutter from kitchen counters. Challenge yourself to remove 3 things from your countertop that don’t belong, like old mail, extra mugs, or unused appliances. ____ Aug 29  Sort your garden tools. Sort hand tools, gloves, and watering cans. Clean anything dirty and hang or bin tools by type. ____ Aug 30  Check your candle collection. Look through your candle stash. Set aside fall-scented candles and toss any with no scent left. ____ Aug 31  Set some goals this Sunday. Review your calendar for September. Choose one mini goal for the month (health, home, or happiness related) and list the first step. Back to Monthly Organizing Checklists Index
