Then, head out to buy them…or purchase them online. Have the store wrap them for you to save time. __ Dec 2 Mail out your Christmas cards. __ Dec 3 Weed out the kitchen junk drawer. __ Dec 4 Donate old PJs that no longer fit, if they’re in good condition. Discard PJs that have seen better days. __ Dec 5 Donate a bag of coats and winter-wear that you no longer plan to wear. Clear out your space and help someone in need. __ Dec 6 Relax and organize your mind. Spend some time alone for a bit of self-care. __ Dec 7 Do something creative. Perhaps build a gingerbread house, decorate cookies, or make a holiday craft. __ Dec 8 Organize the apps on your smartphone. Only keep what you use regularly and eliminate the rest. __ Dec 9 Make your favorite dessert and take it to your neighbor’s house. __ Dec 10 Deep clean your bathroom. Take everything off the surfaces and wipe them down thoroughly. __ Dec 11 Have a holiday-themed garage sale to get rid of stuff you don’t need. __ Dec 12 Sort through your linen cupboard. Donate old towels, sheets, and blankets that you no longer plan to use. Your local animal shelter is often in need of these items. __ Dec 13 Write a shopping list of everything you’re going to need for your holiday meal. __ Dec 14 Beat the crowds by planning ahead this Christmas. Purchase your food in advance and freeze it. __ Dec 15 Set aside an hour to plan for 2019. Think about what’s coming up and what goals you want to make time for. __ Dec 16 Cook some easy meals ahead of time that you can freeze and save for later. __ Dec 17 Pick out some photos from your phone to print and frame. Delete any photos that you don’t want to keep. __ Dec 18 Empty the contents of your purse and/or briefcase. Get rid of old tissues, expired products, and any other junk. __ Dec 19 Think about things you could do when you have random windows of time. Carry a notepad and pen with you to capture ideas. Have a book in your bag to read when you’re waiting for an appointment. __ Dec 20 Check on “outdoor” needs for winter. Do you have enough salt/kitty litter for your walkway or driveway on icy days? Is there enough gas in your snow blower? Do you have enough shovels so everyone in your family could help out…and are they in good condition? __ Dec 21 Treat yourself to a night in with family…or some “alone time” if you prefer. Watch a classic film with some popcorn. __ Dec 22 Review your book collection. Donate any books you don’t want to read anymore and pick out a few to enjoy in the new year ahead. __ Dec 23 Find a neglected area in your home and spruce it up. __ Dec 24 Hopefully, you have all your holiday TO DOs completed. If not, get them done early so you have time to reflect on the significance of the season…and enjoy. __ Dec 25 Have a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy in whatever way that makes you feel wonderful! __ Dec 26 Recycle used wrapping paper and boxes. __ Dec 27 Pick out an organizing habit you want to practice. Get a habit tracker app on your phone to track your progress. __ Dec 28 Archive (or delete) your digital files from this year that you won’t need in 2019. __ Dec 29 Curl up by the fire, make yourself a warm drink, and read one of the books you picked out last week. __ Dec 30 Do some gratitude journaling today. Write down 10 things you’re thankful for. __ Dec 31 Consider choosing “Simplify” as one of your major themes for the new year ahead. Be safe tonight.
