Organizing Challenges Fall into an Organized Autumn Autumn brings some seasonal TO DOs to the table. These mini challenges all focus on tasks that are great to do as the weather cools. 1. Reseed your lawn: As the weather cools a bit, it’s a wonderful time to reseed your lawn...especially those bare spots. Rake away leaves and debris, lay down a layer of fresh soil, and then sprinkle on the seeds. 2. Get your snow blower serviced: Don’t wait for a big winter storm. Get your snow blower serviced now, before the big rush, to be sure it’s in proper working order. 3. Weed out your clothes closet: Pick out 5 to 10 items you haven’t worn in ages. Put them in a bag. Bring them to your local charity. Someone in need will make good use of them. Begin stowing away your spring/summer clothes for the season, and rotating your fall/winter clothes in. 4. “Pick” a date: Plan a date to go apple picking at a nearby apple orchard.  5. Buy your spring bulbs: It’s the perfect time to begin planning your spring garden (tulips and such) and getting those purchased. Planting generally takes place during September and October in the north, and October and November in the south.
