Organizing Challenges Mini Organizing Challenges: October There are 4 weeks in October and this month’s challenge theme is Organizing Your Time. Here are your mini weekly challenges... Week 1: Identify your biggest time wasters. Grab a sheet of paper and list the time wasters in your life…tasks you’re doing that may not have to be done (or done by you) OR TO DOs that are taking you way too long to complete. Work on getting rid of at least one task if you can (or delegate it) and list possible solutions for streamlining at least one task. Week 2: Make these two important lists. Make two lists: a Master List and a TO DO list. Your Master List should contain EVERYTHING you want to do…in no particular order. Your TO DO List should be no more than 4 tasks you pull from your Master List…that you plan to work on TODAY. Work on those 4 tasks until they’re done. Then, pull over 4 more tasks from your Master List to your TO DO List…and keep repeating. Week 3: Mark your priorities. Place an A, B, or C next to each task on your Master List…A being most important and C being least important. As you’re pulling over your four tasks from your Master List to your TO DO List, be sure you’re pulling over two A priorities, one B priority, and one C priority. This way, you’re getting a good mix of work done. Week 4: Work on something you’ve been procrastinating on. Sometimes, just getting started on something is motivation enough to continue moving forward. Work on something you’ve been dreading for 15 minutes. Then, 15 minutes tomorrow. Then, 15 minutes the day after. Keep repeating. You’ll be moving towards completion a little bit at a time…and moving slowly is much better than not moving at all.
