My Life - My Organizing Stories Foods That Are Always in My Pantry, Just in Case I always plan my family’s meals…usually 4 day’s worth or so, but in the fall and winter, sometimes I just don’t feel like going to the supermarket on that 5th day to purchase groceries. It may be really icy or cold…and sometimes, on days like this, I find no joy in leaving the warmth of my house and venturing out. This is why I always am sure to stock up on pantry items that I can turn into a meal for my family in a flash. Here is a list of 20 items I always have on hand in my pantry that I can easily work with to come up with a number of meals: 1. pasta (assorted varieties) 2. rice (assorted varieties) 3. barley 4. quinoa 5. canned tuna 6. canned beans (chick peas, black beans, navy beans…you name it…they’re in there) 7. dry beans (lentils) 8. canned crushed/whole/diced tomatoes 9. chicken and vegetable broth (I use Kitchen Basics) 10. olive oil 11. balsamic vinegar 12. wine (white and red) 13. tons of spices 14. capers 15. olives 16. canned chili peppers 17. salsa 18. oats 19. bread crumbs (fine and Panko) 20. and a plethora of baking goods!
