GON Storage Solutions
Storage Solutions Give Used Up Candle Jars a Second Life I love candles…especially jar candles. But I don’t make my own…and I’m not crazy about getting rid of the pretty candle jars when the candles are used up. So, I give many of them a second life…either creating storage for myself or gifts to give. When you are finished with the candle, clean the jar well. You can freeze the jar, briefly, to make the wax easy to remove. Try some alcohol to dissolve the glue that holds the wick to the bottom of the jar. Then put the jar to use. These are excellent for holding loose change, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, cotton balls, Q-tips, paint brushes, make-up brushes, buttons, shells, dishwasher detergent pillows, wrapped candies…even plastic bags. Candle jars decorate an office desk nicely when filled with multi- color paper clips, rubber bands, push pins, highlighters, or binder clips, just to name a few. As an added bonus, used candle jars work for decoration as well. Filled with decorative rocks, marbles or pennies, two of them can make a set of bookends. They are useful for kid craft projects too, like sand art or new candles. Of course, you can also fill one with lotions or assorted nail polishes, tie a ribbon around it, and give it as a gift. (Safety Tip: The glass may not be completely food safe, so contact the manufacturer before storing food inside.) Visit Our Get Organized 1Now! Store to See All of Our GON Products
