Quick Thought of the Day from Maria

Which Power Word Is Yours Today?

I woke up this morning, looked at my list, and chose the word, 'Enthusiasm.' It's the word I'm focusing on today...and applying to everything I do.

What list is this? It's the list of 'Power Words' I've come up with that set the tone for my entire day. I have a whole bunch of words I can choose from, and I pick the one that 'speaks to me' on a daily basis.

Here are just some of the words on my list (by the way, I add to my list regularly, so I always have a huge variety at my disposal):

Give it a try. Choose a power word for yourself each day. Write it in big letters and post it where you'll see it during the day. Keep coming back to it in every task you do...and every person you come into contact with. Then, before you go to bed, evaluate how that word played an important part in your day.

Tomorrow, choose another word...this practice acts as the perfect sunrise welcoming you to your day ahead!

P.S. Speaking of perfect sunrises each day, if you want to make the very most of each day, reaching all of your goals and aspirations in life, you may want to make a 'Shift.' When you make this 'Shift,' in just five days, you'll discover an entirely new way to think about improving your life and achieving whatever you want from it! Visit:

All the details are further down in this issue...including how you can get 4 wonderful, complimentary bonuses...but only until this coming Sunday!

Fabulous Reader Tips

1) Stop Wasting Time and Wasting Nutrients

I've stopped wasting time peeling foods that don't need to be peeled. Some examples are carrots, eggplant, potatoes, cucumbers, apples, and pears. It not only saves me time, but it keeps my family healthy. After all, there are nutrients in those peels!

2) Keeping Clothes Separated in a Shared Closet

My two young girls share a clothes closet. To keep each girl's attire from mixing in with her sister's stuff, I have provided one of the kids with pink hangers and the other with purple. Now it's very clear which closet items belong to which of my two daughters.

Cybil D., New Castle, DE

3) How I Access the Articles I Save

You recently responded to a Reader Question about saving and using magazine articles. Your reply was had suggested he give himself a definite scheduled date to apply what's in the articles to his life.

In addition, I thought I would share what I do to further help him recall where his articles are when he's ready to access them:

a) Each subject in its own folder.

b) Each folder filed alphabetically.

c) Name the files clearly:

For home, there might be:
Kids' Crafts
Vacation Plans
Day Trips

For work, there might be:
Team Building
Charities to Research
Leadership Ideas
Organizing Ideas
Business Expansion

d) I even have one for really random stuff (I call mine 'Cool Things I Like')

e) I set a day twice a year to skim through these folders and decide whether to keep the articles or toss.
