Featured Inspirational Quotes… Words of Wisdom in Celebration of Mothers Everywhere Many of us will be running around to brunches and get togethers to celebrate Mother’s Day this year. That is always nice. But even nicer is to recognize the importance of mothers in your life. Yes, you probably acknowledge your own mother, but what about one of your friends who cares for her mentally challenged child each day, or your child’s teacher who not only cares for her children but also for your children, or a co-worker who just adopted a new child and also volunteers to help make the community a better place to live? In celebration of all mothers, here are my favorite quotes…just in time for Mother’s Day, but applicable any time of the year! A mother is a person who, seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. (Tenneva Jordan) Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs since the payment is pure love. (Mildred B. Vermont) Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother. (Oprah Winfrey) Sing out loud in the car even, or especially, if it  embarrasses your children. (Marilyn Penland) God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers. (Rudyard Kipling) Of all the roles I've played, none has been as fulfilling as being a mother. (Annette Funicello) A mom’s hug lasts long after she’s let go. (Unknown) My mom and I have always been really close. She's always been the friend that was always there. There were times when, in middle school and junior high, I didn't have a lot of friends. But my mom was always my friend. Always. (Taylor Swift) The most remarkable thing about my mother is that for thirty years she served the family nothing but leftovers.  The original meal has never been found. (Calvin Trillin) My mother... she is beautiful, softened at the edges and tempered with a spine of steel. I want to grow old and be like her. (Jodi Picoult)
