Take a few minutes today to think about all the things you are grateful for in your life. ____ Mar 2 Today is Read Across America Day. Read a story to your children or take some time to read a new or favorite book. ____ Mar 3 Do something creative. Finish up a craft or sewing project. Do a little decorating or re-arranging of furniture. Start or write in a journal. ____ Mar 4 Check out the great music that was recently awarded recognition at the Grammy Awards. If you enjoy country, llsten to Taylor Swift. If you like pop, try Beyonce or Lady Gaga. ____ Mar 5 Update your resume. In light of recent times, it is important to keep your resume current. ____ Mar 6 If you are going to have a garden, it is time to start planning what you want to plant and how much you need to purchase for seeds, bulbs and other supplies. ____ Mar 7 It’s movie time. The Oscars are on tonight. Check out the movies that are up for awards. Make a point to go out and watch a few of the winning and nominated movies or visit your local video store to rent the videos. ____ Mar 8 Gather up all your tax-related documents. Contact your accountant or tax specialist to make an appointment or get ready to begin preparing your taxes for the year. ____ Mar 9 Has there been a task that you have been procrastinating on for a while? It is now time to stop procrastinating and get the task completed. ____ Mar 10 Call a friend today. After checking the battery this month, take the top off and vacuum the inside. Also, batteries should be replaced once per year and the detector itself needs replacing about every 10 years. ____ Mar 14 Daylight Savings Time begins today. Eating well can help reduce the risk of many chronic illnesses. For example, take time to check out food labels to see what you are eating. Look into healthier ways to cook. Consider eating less processed foods. ____ Mar 20 Welcome to the first day of Spring! Go outside and breathe in the new season. ____ Mar 21 Dig out and remove rotted or damaged fence posts, mailbox posts and damaged shrubs from around your home. Each person should have a list of things to accomplish. Put on fun music. Have snacks available. Consider even making it a contest so more tasks are completed. ____ Mar 25 Get into the spring of things with fresh flowers like potted pink tulips, yellow daffodils or purple irises. Even if the weather is still wintry outside, you are reminded of what will be growing in your own garden. ____ Mar 26 The winds in March make it a great time to construct and fly a kite with your children. There are many web sites with instructions on kites online. ____ Mar 27 Get out your Easter decorations and do a little holiday decorating. Have fun by making a few eggs and decorating them. ____ Mar 28 Today is American Diabetes Alert. This day sounds the alert about the risks and symptoms of diabetes. Get informed. ____ Mar 29 Look in your medicine cabinet and note anything that needs to be replenished like antacids. Toss all expired medicine. ____ Mar 30 Take two bags out to the car. In one toss all of the trash and in the other put everything that does not belong in the car. ____ Mar 31 Dust the lampshades and all light fixtures in your home.
