Start Spring off on the Right Foot by Maria Gracia Spring is a great time of year to do things that will help you grow individually, and as a business owner. It's the season of renewal. Here are 5 simple ideas: 1. SORT THROUGH YOUR BUSINESS CARDS. Is there anyone in your stack that may need your services or products? Or maybe there's someone you can contact who knows lots of people that can possibly refer your business. 2. UPDATE YOUR PORTFOLIO. What have you accomplished in the past 6 months? Have you been interviewed by a newspaper? Have your articles been printed in a magazine or on someone's Web site? Perhaps you've had a major success with one of your clients. Add these new credentials and testimonials to your portfolio. 3. GET INSPIRED. Make it a point to visit some motivational Web sites. Listen to some inspiring audio tapes. Read a new book on organizing or marketing. You have to stay excited and enthusiastic if you want to continue growing your business. 4. WEED OUT YOUR PAPER FILES AND YOUR COMPUTER FILES. You spend so much time helping your clients get organized, but it's important not to forget about yourself. Go through your filing cabinet and your computer and get rid of anything you no longer need. While you're doing so, something may set off a bright idea! 5. LEARN SOMETHING NEW. Maybe you're considering accepting credit cards? Or perhaps you want to take on a new organizing specialty, such as working with ADD clients.
