5 Great Ways to Use the Holidays to Your Advantage by Maria Gracia The holidays are a great time to keep in touch with your prospects and customers. Here are 5 simple ways to use the holiday season to your advantage: 1. SEND HOLIDAY CARDS. Consider sending holiday cards to your prospects and customers. Don't make them look like impersonal, holiday greetings from a big corporation. Instead, personalize your cards so that the recipients feel special. If you have a very large prospect and customer list, sending holiday cards may not be possible. However, in this case, you may wish to send e-mail greetings or e-cards. 2. SEND GIFTS. Have some customers, referrals, staff members or vendors, that have been a great help to your business this year? Remember them on the holidays with gifts that really show you care. 3. OFFER HOLIDAY SPECIALS TO PROSPECTS AND CUSTOMERS. Many people want their homes and offices to look nice over the holiday season. Perhaps you can offer a 25% off holiday special, to help them get their home/office organized for the season. Maybe you can hold a free presentation entitled, 'Getting All of Your Holiday Stuff Done, Without Stress.' Possibly you can offer a Buy One-Get One Free Holiday Gift Certificate. For instance, 'get one hour of free time management consulting, for every paid hour you purchase.' 4. GET PRESS. Do something extra special for the holiday season--something newsworthy--and get the press to write about it. Submit press releases of your newsworthy events and stories to local papers, radio stations and television stations. 5. DON'T ASSUME PEOPLE ARE TOO BUSY. It is during the holiday season that people can use your help more than ever. Don't assume they're too business for your services and/or products.
