Have each person bring their ideas and schedules with them. ____ Jun 2 Today is National Donut Day….a day used to honor the Lassies of WWI and to raise money for needy causes of the Salvation Army. Go get some donuts from places that are taking part, and be generous to yourself and others. ____ Jun 3 Today is a great day to clean all the trash, school papers, toys, and other clutter out of the car. ____ Jun 4 Take some time and write a letter to a friend or family member, expressing your love and thankfulness for all that they have done for you. ____ Jun 5 Pull your couches and side tables away from the walls. Wipe the baseboards and wall behind the couches, and vacuum under the couches.  ____ Jun 6 Call and schedule a day and time to have your carpets cleaned. .____ Jun 7 Pay any upcoming bills. ____ Jun 8 Get everyone up and outside early in the morning. Divide into teams and weed the garden, and then take the family out for brunch. Let the kids decide where to eat. ____ Jun 9 Tonight is a full moon. Gather the family and some blankets and spend the late evening observing the moon and stars. ____ Jun 10 Take a trip to your local library and check out some books on something you have always wanted to learn. Art, music, cooking, and origami, are just a few possibilities. ____ Jun 11 Buy or make cards and gifts for the special men in your life. Mail the ones which need to be mailed. ____ Jun 12 Flip and rotate your mattresses and box springs, if the manufacturer instructions indicate you should do so. ____ Jun 13 Have your tires on your car rotated and properly inflated. This will help your car get better gas mileage. ____ Jun 14 Celebrate Flag Day in the United States by displaying the flag and showing your pride in the independence of America. Take the time to teach your family the flag rules and etiquette for handling the American Flag. ____ Jun 15 Go for a family bike ride and eat lunch at a park. Since it is ‘Smile Power Day, be sure and flash those pearly whites at everyone you see, and brighten up their day. ____ Jun 16 Take some time to pamper yourself, by getting a new haircut, pedicure, or manicure. ____ Jun 17 Donate those movies on DVD (or VHS if you still have those sitting around) you and your family no longer watch to your local library. ____ Jun 18 Today is Father’s Day. Call and wish your father, brothers, uncles, and other men who are special to you a Happy Father’s Day. Thank them for all they do for you. ____ Jun 19 Clean and organize your storeroom. Group household items, paper goods, and cleaning supplies in one area, and food in another area. Discard any expired food. ____ Jun 20 Take a ladder or step stool and remove the light fixtures in a room or two. Wash and dry the fixtures and replace burnt out bulbs. ____ Jun 21 Today is the first day of summer, also known as the Summer Solstice. Stock up on the sunscreen and bug spray. ____ Jun 22 Gather up outdoor mats. Shake the debris and dust from them. Hose off any rubber ones. ____ Jun 23 Catch up on your laundry and/or ironing. ____ Jun 24 Spend some time cleaning up your computer files. Delete those that you no longer use. ____ Jun 25 Toss old magazines and catalogues. Be sure and recycle them if that option is offered by your city. While purging, cancel any subscriptions which you do not need. ____ Jun 26 Go through your closets and pull out 5 articles of clothing you never wear. Put them in your donation or garage sale box. ____ Jun 27 Gather up the inside and outside garbage cans. Squirt some dish soap in them, add water and scrub. Dry them and add new garbage liners. ____ Jun 28 Set up a tent in your back yard and have a family camp out. Sing songs, play some games, and disconnect from all electronics. ____ Jun 29 Scrub down your kitchen cabinets with some Murphy’s soap, then lemon oil the wood. Enjoy the new look and the clean smell. ____ Jun 30 Look back over the events of the month and write down the favorite family memories. Include all ideas and thoughts from each family member. Remember to sort through any photos taken over the month, and place them into albums. Let your family help decorate the pages, and record the events.
