challenge. Please keep your notes short and
please note they may appear in our weekly
newsletter if they're successful, funny and/or
interesting!

Week of . . . March 14th, 2010
Do 5 spring cleaning tasks.
Spring is arriving on Saturday, March 20th. Get ahead of
schedule by tackling 5 spring cleaning tasks before the new
season is here (getting rid of winter brush, washing the windows,
laundering curtains, etc.). Email us and let us know what you
accomplished.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . March 7th, 2010
Rummage through your house and look for anything that can be
sold (or donated). How many items can you come up with? 25?
50? 100? Once everything is together, schedule a date for your
rummage sale, display them for sale on eBay or call your local
charity for a pick up.

Week of . . . February 28th, 2010
Whether it’s your sock drawer, your junk drawer or a drawer in
your desk, your challenge this week is to thoroughly organize at
least one drawer in your home or office. Empty it out completely,
getting rid of anything that doesn’t belong. Organize the “keepers”
back in, using dividers if necessary to help keep the contents
sorted for ease of retrieval.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . February 20th, 2010
Get rid of old magazines/newspapers.
Your challenge this week is to recycle magazines that are older
than 3 months and newspapers older than 2 weeks. If you’re that
far behind, your reading ambitions are way too high. Email us and
let us know what titles you parted with and how many of each.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . February 13th, 2010
Clean out your email inbox.
Is your email inbox overflowing? This week’s challenge is to
delete as much email from your email inbox as possible. Start by
deleting jokes, forwards, unsolicited email, advertising messages
you don’t plan to take advantage of, and other such email. Then,
go through whatever is left over one by one, responding to each
as needed and then deleting those that no longer require action.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . February 6th, 2010
Clean out the fridge thoroughly.
Really clean it out well. This means you remove everything from
the shelves, pull-out drawers and doors. You scrub the inside
clean, removing and replacing any of the glass shelves and/or
drawers as necessary. Then, before replacing any food, you
ensure 1) it’s going to be consumed AND 2) it’s not expired. If it
doesn’t meet this criteria, get rid of it. Put the keepers back in an
organized manner--all sweet condiments on one shelf of the door,
all savory condiments on another, all beverages on the top shelf,
all leftovers on the second shelf, etc. The categories don’t
necessarily have to match what I just said, but each area should
have like-items stored together.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . January 30, 2010
Why is it that our hobbies so often get pushed back until
‘someday when we have more time.’ Make your favorite hobby a
priority this week. After all, our hobbies help us relax. Realize that
some moments should just be savored and enjoyed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . January 23, 2010
Grab a medium-sized empty box. Your challenge is to fill this box
with items in your home you no longer use or want. When you’ve
reached the top, close the box and donate it to your favorite
charity.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . January 16, 2010
How many books can you donate?
How often do you read a book twice? Three times? I’ve done this
only occasionally. Most people buy books, and then keep them
stored on their bookshelves (or in boxes) forever. Books become
sacred relics of sorts. But, let’s face it, why should they be sitting
on a shelf when someone else could be enjoying or benefiting
from them? Your challenge this week is to donate a minimum of 5
books that you’ll never read again. Your recipient can be your
local library, a friend, a relative, your office’s book exchange--it
doesn’t matter.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . January 9, 2010
Put all traces of the holiday season away.
As I look around my neighborhood and all the holiday lights that
are still lit, many people are hanging on to Christmas for as long
as possible. Your challenge this week is to put all traces of the
holiday season away for the year. This includes all wreaths, trees,
ornaments, greeting cards you plan to keep, snow globes, etc.
Pack them away in an organized manner, with boxes clearly
labeled, so you can find everything easily when Christmas rolls
around again at the end of this year. (Exception: Leave holiday
lights on the house if the weather is too cold or icy to remove
them. If you plan to remove them, take them off when the
temperatures warm.)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . January 2, 2010
Donate 3 Things to a Favorite Charity.
Your challenge this week is to find 3 things in your home or office
that you never use, but someone else can, and donate those
items to your favorite charity.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . December 26th
Focus on a half-done project.
What is it that you have half-done? Is it a quilt you started 5 years
ago? A scrapbook? A recipe book you’ve been trying to get
together for months? A work project you’ve been avoiding?
Whatever it is that you started, but didn’t complete, your
challenge is to finally finish it all the way through.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . December 19th
Handle Any Last-Minute Holiday Tasks
What do you still need to do that is related to the holidays? Finish
gift shopping? Get your tree up? Complete your greeting cards?
Whatever you have to finish, complete those tasks this week.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week of . . . December 12th
You’ve Been Meaning To Contact
So often, work, chores and other obligations get in the way of us
keeping in contact with those we care about. Your challenge this
week is to get in contact with 3 people who you’ve been meaning
to call or write.
