Getting organized for school lunches can make mornings go easier. Here are a few ideas...

Put everything you use for lunches in one cabinet so you don't have to hunt all over the kitchen.

Use a plastic tote in the fridge to hold lunch packing items so it can sit on the counter and slide back in when you are done.

Do you have other ideas related to lunches?

Every Sunday night, my DD puts together 5 baggies of baby carrots and puts them in the produce drawer. She also makes 5 baggies of goldfish and she has a plastic bin in the pantry where she keeps her lunch stuff. She takes peanut butter on ritz crackers so she keeps the ritz sleeve in that bin as well.

I normally make a tray of cookies every Sunday night and plastic wrap 5 of them individually so she has a cookie to take.

In the mornings, she simply grabs a carrot bag, an apple (or other fruit if she wants) from the fruit bowl, a bag of goldfish, her ritz/peanut butter crackers (which go in a small metal tin so they don't break, a cookie and fills up her metal water bottle. Done, takes about 5 minutes.

Kimberly, sounds like you and your DD have her school lunches down pat!

My DD and I are no where near that organized! In general, she takes dinner leftovers for her lunches. I usually pack our lunches the night before and I warm hers up in the morning, before we leave (I warm mine up at the office, where I have access to a microwave).

Since we are gone for over 12 hrs., we take b'fasts, lunches and snacks, with us.
