Dinner last nite out of the pantry/freezer

Linguine tossed with olive oil and basil pesto. The sauteed mix was red onions, celery, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, bason bits, black olives, shrimp and scallops. Leftovers will be dinner on Tuesday.

Saturday was another freezer meal. Leftover ground beef, thawed and reseasoned became tacos and then added a side of refried beans.

grocery store was just milk and bread and coffee cream this week.

Watching the shopping and eating in as much as possible

Grocery shopping totals for this weekend: 1 bread ($1), 2 mangoes ($.49@), bananas ($.49/lb = $.87), 2 containers fruit juice ($1.25 + $2.39), 1 gal. milk ($2.89), 4 boxes cereal ($1.78@), 1 package hot dogs ($1.00) and buns ($.89), chicken ($.99/lb = $4.01), grapes ($.99), and 2 chicken salad/crackers snack packs ($1@). Spent a total of $25.39.

Total spent on groceries this month: $126.68 + $25.39 = $152.07

I went over my July grocery budget of $150 by $2.07, but that's OK, because the cereal I bought will last well into August; I didn't mind going over by a bit because I wanted to take advantage of sales.

I broiled half of the chicken I bought and made a curry with the rest. We've been enjoying the broiled chicken with salads.
