Back to starting this on Friday for anyone who wants to start early. I won't be home most of the weekend and into next week, so will try and finish up the master closet as my all house cleaning. Honestly with doing the branches each month, it is keeping the house is great shape, IMHO.

Think of your home as a tree and each room is a branch of that tree.

First, break the house up into branches (manageable areas), which can be DEEP cleaned in a week's time.

For each branch, compile a list of all the tasks you'll need to do to get that room to SPARKLE! This includes cleaning, dusting and vacuuming the areas behind and under furniture, washing windows and curtains, etc. (if possible in your schedule, it can be done in babysteps each day)

Also, put together a Weekly Cleaning List to keep things looking good. Each week, finish your Weekly Cleaning THEN focus on doing some deep cleaning in this week's branch.

Cycle through the branches, one per week, to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the house.

Here's the schedule of Branches we'll be following:

Week 1: Entry/Living Room
Week 2: Dining Room/Laundry Room
Week 3: Bathrooms/Front Porch
Week 4: Kitchen/Back Porch
Week 5: Children’s Room/Guest Room + Closets for those rooms
Week 6: Family Room/Room of choice
Week 7: Master Bedroom/Master Closet
Week 8: All House Cleaning

Some sample "Choice" Rooms:
Office, Pantry, Craft Room, Garage, Attic, etc.

Make your master and individual branch lists work for YOU. The lists we share here are just our own examples; yours should be designed to suit your own home and situation.

If the branch you're working on needs decluttering, focus on that first. It's much easier to clean a room that doesn't have piles and boxes everywhere. Even if the whole house needs decluttering, this is a good way to focus on a room at a time on a regular schedule.

This isn't a competition. Just go at your own pace, as that will be exactly right for you. We are all here to support and encourage one another.

Start with a new branch each week. If you don't finish all the tasks on your branch list for the week, that's OK--you're already ahead of where you were before, and the unfinished tasks will still be there for you when you cycle back to this branch. If you finish early one week, you can go back to work on previous branches

Well the basement got done FINALLY, but I have some odds and ends that need to find a home in the craft room or other parts of the house this week, so that will be my All house cleaning agenda! As I only have next week to prepare for a visit from DD2 and her family for a couple of days the following week, and will be staying with Dgs the following week, away from home....so it is this week or wait 3 weeks!
Not going to happen. I want it DONE!

Please post and let us hear your plans for the next branch.

DH said he would vacuum so I saved downstairs for him, but I shall dust beforehand. DS and family coming on Sunday so I need to get ahead on this, but DH is working on building a deck! How can I expect him to vacuum? I will do it tomorrow if he is still busy, but if it rains, he will be able to do it.

I have been slacking off as I have been working outside, so the whole house cleaning is timely this week.

That seems to be a problem in the summer time, outside stuff too.
Do what you can WL!

~~~~~~~~~
Putting items back into the craft room, and plan on sorting thru some more items for the sale this week. Will vacuum and mop all the rooms. Works out well having it this week, as the following week my DD2 and family will be here for 3 days and then I have guests over on Friday. Whew, August is all taken up already!
Carrying over some stuff from previous branch...
Master Bedroom
hung the clean drapes back up
as I did the window I cleaned both mirrors
wiped off the kitty marks from bottom of window and finger marks on the door, frame and around the light switch
ran the broom around the room on the baseboards
linens are drying, I've wiped the matress cover with disinfectant and dusted the fan just before; it's over the bed
only thing left is to put the sheets back on the bed and declutter the top of my dresser and I'm calling this done!
all over house cleaning includes
dusting all the furniture and shelves in the living room, kitchen and bedrooms
sweeping and washing of the floors
going over all of the plants, watering, fertilizing, taking dead leaves off...
This is going to work good for me since I really want to get the house tidy before school actually starts. I have training three days this week plus engagements three nights but I will work when I can.
I got a new filter for the vacum. It cost plently but it's washable so that might prove to be really good. Well see. I want a Dyson but I just don't have the money yet(or least that I will part with) Maybe I'll buy it for Christmas.
I think in the planner I will set up a list for each branch week. Then I won't have to think about things.
I am asking everyone to pray for all the fires Oklahoma is having. We've even had towns burn almost totally down and the aceage is unreal. Plus our fire depts. for the small towns are volunters they are beat and beyond. I just cried last night at the news.
Finishing up the laundry today, and hope to do some vacuuming.
Add my prayers Cindy.
Dusted the bedroom and living room furniture, decluttered the top of the dresser and the coffee table.
Thannks. The fires have slowed so now the rebuilding.
I'm so happy others can do outside work. In 109 nothing is getting done here but a little watering. Please send rain and cooler temps.
Laundry is all done but dog bed and even ironed except one jacket. Plan on laying out first two weeks of clothes. We don't sstart really for another week.
Went to meetings today and then to election diner and have traing tomorrow. Hopefully I can at least get supplies to school.
Tomorrow evening I'm going to work on a system for the front door. That area no matter how the house looks is always messy. I have to find a system that I can keep neay.
I am tired now so going to crash. These early mornings are killing me and it's only the second day.
