Definitely BL, looking at something special like that is so wonderful. I was lucky, the display frame I bought for the jewelry had the shelves/dividers. I painted them green, and put a backing on the back of the frame....

BL: I have a shadow box idea also in honor of my Mom. It's a long story but mom never handled food. She also taught me the same "safety".

My friends are always laughing when they make meatballs, that I am the only one they know that can mix 3 lbs of meatballs perfectly with a fork instead of my "unclean" hands, ROFL.

Mom always used a meatball maker, it looks like a double sided ice cream scoop. When she died, it was one of the only things I wanted and got. (I do roll my meatballs, but very quickly after I do a surgical scrub of my hands ROFL!)

I want to do a shadow box with mom's recipes in the background, the meatball maker and several other kitchen memories and items I have.

We loved to cook and she also cooked with my DD a lot.

I love the shadow boxes, so much can be "said" in one.

Funny--meatball maker! But I don't touch raw meat! I wear those gloves kitchen workers use! Plus, now that I have some weird hand pain sometimes I have to wear the gloves just to rinse lettuce & such to make a salad as my hands become too sensitive to touching anything.

When my husband is going to barbecue & fix the chicken I have to leave the room so I don't watch him touch the raw chicken or maybe see any drops of juice drip anywhere!

But when he is finished he calls me in so I can spray the sink & counters w/my spray bottle of bleach disinfectant I've made up.

We have a wall of photos upstairs in the hallway that I love. Photos from all stages of our life from wedding photos to Halloween photos, birthday parties, trips, etc. And I picked out different frames for them so the one of our dog where she is at the bow of the speed boat w/her ears flying back in the wind is in a wooden frame that looks like bark (pun intended).

Or the "kids" as teens laughing & horsing around on the beach in Curacao is in a frame I made of broken crockery (purchased some colorful plates at Goodwill & broke them into bits w/a hammer--while wearing safety glasses, of course!).

And placing them on the wall was fun to figure out. I rearranged them on the floor for awhile before I let my husband hammer in the first nail.

My husband has a bunch of patents (he is a research scientist) so I have those framed & on the wall, too, but on the wall leading down to the basement! I guess you can tell what we are most proud of--our family!!

Yes, I too have the animal photos. For the dogs, 3 square frames, laser etched that have bones and sayings like woof, good dog etc, and above it a small framed print that says this house loves dogs. They have been gone 2 yrs but seems like just yesterday they were crazy mischevious pups. Also have a photo of the two cats sitting int the tent I got them many years ago. They have been gone three years....my how time flies.

So the project for me is to get my shadowboxes done and hung, get any photos with ex off the walls and frame and hang some of the few family photos that SO has.
