Wendy: So glad the trip is going well and you gals are having a fun time meeting with family!
Jodi: All that takes time! You did plenty! Love the gift!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm still on a high in finishing the basement and once all the items get dropped off today I think I will feel even more so!
Still have lots of sorting to do for the sale at the store, but that can all be done with babysteps. Now I can take my time, do my JDIs, branch work, and hopefully finish a bunch of projects.
Wow, ladies, lots of productivity going on! It's only the 2nd of Aug. and already on page 2!
Yesterday, I went to the doctor's for a check up, did lab work, went to the pharmacy for new prescriptions to be filled, went to the post office to mail a package, and worked. After I came home, however, I just relaxed and watched Olympics with my DD and knitted (making a baby blanket for a co-worker).
I've taken today and tomorrow off from work! Looking forward to my long weekend. But trying hard not to fill it up with all my "to do" list items - I want to have some time to rest and relax, as well.
Wow, you gals are busy bees! LOL
Got back on Saturday from a month's vacation traveling and have been unloading our motor home and figuring out what to keep, what to donate and what to trash. It's been keeping me busy since Saturday evening!
Back to work yesterday slowed my progress a bit but I'm still plugging away with my baby steps. The visits with family and friends over the month were more than worth the time now to get things put away, donated and/or trashed. So far stuff has been either put away for dgd to take to college in a few short years, or put into a box for donations....easy decisions that I haven't been hesitating on. I like that kind of cleaning and decluttering!
I think we are ready to leave for our trip in the morning. The last load of laundry just finished in the dryer so I have a few things to add to the suitcase. Toiletries are all packed. DM is driving and will be here at 5 a.m. and we hope to pull out of the driveway by 5:30.
Didn't get the cobbler made but it's a very easy recipe using a cake mix so I just packed the ingredients and will assemble when we arrive at our friend's late tomorrow afternoon.
Will put a notepad next to my bed tonight in case I wake up and think of anything. Will be back in a week!
Dianaro - Congratulations on finishing the garage. Karen - It just proves it, the children can be taught from an early age. I just taught the kids I baby sat to put their toys to sleep in their beds once they finished with them and thus a tidy bedroom. Your son sounds great. I hope you enjoy your family weekend. Bonnie - I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Jodi - Safe journey on your trip - have a great time. I used to do the notepad thing when I worked, it really helped me get a full nights sleep. I am a bit late taking my tea break today but I've got a few bits done. My brother is off today and I got the usual thing (Oh you don't do anything but sit on your bum all day yardy yardy yar), so I took my anger out on the fridge and freezer, getting the top cleaned out and the bottom I bashed with a chisel, took out the plastic drawers (they always fail) and repacked it. The veg is on the top shelf, meat on the next, and brothers specific stuff on the bottom. I got a bowl full of ice out. Feel a bit better now  and my brother usually spends the whole day at his yard working on cars which is his hobby. I've walked the dog and played some football with him. He does cheat and pick up the ball which isn't easy as its probably half his size. LOL! I've tided the front room, half prepped the lunch which needs to go on in a few minutes (a roast). Dad called this morning and his getting very rebellious, he doesn't understand why he needs to be in hospital resting when he can do it at home. He says their not doing anything but when you ask specific questions they are, so I think his just getting bored. He has no hobbies, wont read or anything. I suggested he ask them to put him in front of the tv to watch the Olympics. Oh I nearly forgot when I woke up early today I sorted through two carrier bags of stuff and put that all away. I've also found the loft ladder puller stick which my brother likes to hide so I can get up there with the clothes bags later. I've just got two more things on my list todo (the kitchen floor and to vacuum through) and thats it. The afternoon rest is definately benefiting my production in the mornings.
Bonnie: Good going, you forgot to mention all you removed from your home before your trip! You've been a busy gal!
Jodi: Safe and fun trip!
Purdy: Home is always more relaxing than a hospital, but that is a good suggestion about him watching the Olympics I am sure the hours are long and boring for him if he doesn't read, etc.
You are doing wondefully.
I finished up the basement, but will be working to PUPA the garage now that the items are gone to donations. Filled the trunk, and the back seat! The books didn't bring much money, but I figured they are gone and out of the house!
I had a great holiday, but I've been back a week and the house looks terrible! I've not caught up with the laundry (weather not helping, too much rain to dry outside) and I'm trying not to fall further behind. Ho hum. And we'll be out most of Sunday, if I can get it straight perhaps that will stop it getting worse, LOL!
Will catch up soon!
Jodi, Hope you have a wonderful trip.
Diana, sometimes I don't care if I sell something or just toss it, as long as it is out of my way and out of the house.
Hawtmess, keep up the great work, sounds like a lot of progress being made.
Wendy, have a safe trip home.
Bless, suggestion: Do something fun on one of your days off!
Karen, little GON'er on the rise! LOL
Bonnie, nice to see you back, glad you had a nice trip.
Purdy, I would have poured the ice over brother's head, but that's me..You have been doing a LOT!!
VHswife: Nice to see you back, just jump right back in and you will catch up.
Today is one week without smoking. The last two days have been a little rough. All my friends smoke.
Wednesday my DGF called (the one whose son was supposed to deliver the mulch) She offered me her pile in her yard, so I drove over and we loaded 20 buckets (at noon in the sun) Came home and by now the weeds are almost a foot tall, so first I had to weed the gardens, then dump the mulch. I only had enough for two small gardens in the back, so now, after all this time, I am going to have to go get my own mulch anyway. ARRRGGHH. I could have done this months ago.
Girls came over at night and we hung out.
Yesterday was crazy. DGF called me early in the morning and had me on the phone (laughing btw) for quite a while. Then I went to return the buckets, and decided to visit with DGF for a while on her porch across the street from the lake.
Came home and another phone call that lasted way too long. There's only so much you can do with one free hand. It was too hot out anyway to work outside. So, I wasted a whole day.
Laura and Mary came over and we BBQ'd, then grilled some peaches for dessert.
Had a decent night's sleep and have a long list of things to do today including running to NJ for specials at the supermarket and gas. NO CIGARETTES though!!!!!
Finn is not doing well, so a trip to the vet may be on the list.
