Back to starting this on Friday for anyone who wants to start early. I won't be home most of the weekend and into next week, so will try and finish up the master closet as my all house cleaning. Honestly with doing the branches each month, it is keeping the house is great shape, IMHO.

Think of your home as a tree and each room is a branch of that tree.

First, break the house up into branches (manageable areas), which can be DEEP cleaned in a week's time.

For each branch, compile a list of all the tasks you'll need to do to get that room to SPARKLE! This includes cleaning, dusting and vacuuming the areas behind and under furniture, washing windows and curtains, etc. (if possible in your schedule, it can be done in babysteps each day)

Also, put together a Weekly Cleaning List to keep things looking good. Each week, finish your Weekly Cleaning THEN focus on doing some deep cleaning in this week's branch.

Cycle through the branches, one per week, to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the house.

Here's the schedule of Branches we'll be following:

Week 1: Entry/Living Room
Week 2: Dining Room/Laundry Room
Week 3: Bathrooms/Front Porch
Week 4: Kitchen/Back Porch
Week 5: Children’s Room/Guest Room + Closets for those rooms
Week 6: Family Room/Room of choice
Week 7: Master Bedroom/Master Closet
Week 8: All House Cleaning

Some sample "Choice" Rooms:
Office, Pantry, Craft Room, Garage, Attic, etc.

Make your master and individual branch lists work for YOU. The lists we share here are just our own examples; yours should be designed to suit your own home and situation.

If the branch you're working on needs decluttering, focus on that first. It's much easier to clean a room that doesn't have piles and boxes everywhere. Even if the whole house needs decluttering, this is a good way to focus on a room at a time on a regular schedule.

This isn't a competition. Just go at your own pace, as that will be exactly right for you. We are all here to support and encourage one another.

Start with a new branch each week. If you don't finish all the tasks on your branch list for the week, that's OK--you're already ahead of where you were before, and the unfinished tasks will still be there for you when you cycle back to this branch. If you finish early one week, you can go back to work on previous branches

This one is okay for me other than a sprucing up on dusting and vacuuming. It can wait until fall when I have to switch out clothes. My Dgs will be here the end of the month, so I figured a sprucing would be enough.

What are you planning for this branch?

This is a room I really would like to tackle but with the attic stairs the way they are and DF having his pace maker replaced Tuesday I really douby I get much done.

I really want to get in there and toss a bunch of stuff. i do have a bag I need to take to a lady so hopefully I will remember it Monday.

I would like to toss the chest and use a trunk instead. I want to see if it would work. Also I'd like to see if DD says it would be ok if I tossedd some things.

Well Cindy you could tell DD you are moving! We thought we were one year, and had them pick up "their stuff" (Half of what they didn't want!), and got it all cleaned up in one day!

LOL Diana on the "moving".

Don't have a children's room nor a guest room. Just one closet. I hope to continue a little more in the kitchen.

The (only) closet is in the office and could use a purging on the shelves, I have old bank/invoices and business related items neatly in carefully marked plastic boxes that can be moved into the attic.

That is a great idea Waterlady. Use the prime space for things you need there!

It was a true story, and it worked out well for all of us, all the way around!

I would tell her to come get the stuff if she didn't have two under 3 (one with colic and potty training the other) and her husband has just started walking again plus she worked all last week. I will do it another time though.

The last two days I've beenplaying. Yesterday I went to a winnery and painted a glass and today was at Pottery Barn. Hopefully I will get myself going and do a little work once I have a little rest.

Decided to work on my craft room and straighten out a few things in some cabinets, and see all that I have to do! (TONS!!!) and
sorted thru some beads, and sequins, and put them into containers in one of the dresser drawers, with the beading kits I have left to do. Looks much nicer.

I also put the floss I didn't use on the one project I finished yesterday back in the supply boxes I have for floss. Going to do that as I complete things, otherwise, I am making another mess and project to do! This way it is totally finished with the floss back where it belongs.

The other two items had their own floss included so that worked well....

DD cleaned her room, yesterday, so that leaves me with the guest room & closet - my room of the year!

I did a few babysteps in the dressser this morning, and when I returned from lunch. Put all the "alikes" together!
Much to do, one project at a time!
