Wheretostart: Well, let's see: my day so far - up at 5:30 a.m., morning devotions, feed the cats, make coffee, watch news while drinking coffee, warm up & pack lunches for DD and me, write and leave a note to the gardener, leave the house at 6:30 a.m., drive a little over 1 hr. to drop DD off on campus (put gas on the way), drive for another hour to get to work. During lunch break, I'll go to the bank and the farmers' market. I'll be at the office till 6:00 p.m., then, I'll go home, start dinner and maybe a load of laundry, drive to campus to pick up DD (she's working after classes, until 9:30 p.m.), come home, make coffee for DD, have dinner, do the dishes, finish the laundry, pay bills, feed the cats, nightly devotions, bless the house and get ready for bed! laugh

Whew! I am tired just from reading all that everyone gets accomplished in one day. I do struggle to get some sort of schedule together for myself. Too much I need to do and too much I want to do. Also having issues with my energy level plays a big part in what I can and can not do in a day. Hopefully that will change soon as I am getting help with that.

This is a great topic Kimberly!

I generally get up and feed the cats, get on GON, do my morning meditation and prayers, then start on the house or tasks or errands I listed in the JDI thread. I usually work at various things when I am home for the day until Lunch, after lunch is quiet time or a craft and relaxing for an hour or so.
Like to do crocheting while watching tv in the evening sometimes.

Okay this is my list of how I plan my day. I have set up my special lists which include a to do schedule, a list of my morning and evening routines, and my daily chore checklist schedule. It all goes something like this:

My Morning Routine:

1. Get up, take shower, get dressed for the day
2. Make coffee, put on a load of laundry, fix & eat breakfast while watching the A.M. news.
3. Check e-mails and trash the junk
4. Make bed, take vitamins (since they are close to my bed)
5. Check and update to do list
6. Check to see what's for dinner from my the menu and thaw if needed.
7. Start Chores (daily checklist)
8. Run errands & pay bills (if needed) during early morning hours

By Mid Day my schedule goes like this:

1. Do daily chore checklist
2. Get some homework done or go to evening classes

My Evening Routine goes like this:

1. Clean out coffee pot and prep for A.M. use
2. Clean out school bags, purses, & backpacks (re-stock if needed)
3. Enter purchases of the day-consumer scanner
4. Take out evening trash
5. tidy main rooms of house (bathroom, living room, kitchen), but make sure kitchen sink is cleaned for the next day.
6. Lay out clothes for the next day
7. Pack lunches (if needed)
8. Read Bible, Do Homework
9. Clean dining table and sweep underneath if needed.

My Daily Chore Check List includes:

1. Sweep the kitchen first
2. Gather all trash in the whole house.
3. Take out all trash & replace the garbage bags, clean the trash can if needed.
4. Gather all laundry & sort into piles
5. Do laundry or start laundry
6. Make beds
7. Clean off all surfaces in the house. (also bathroom cleanup)
8. Dust all surfaces and sanitize surfaces.
9. Do dishes
10. sweep floors
11. mop floors
12. organize one area per day.
13. finish laundry

So, as you can see, I have plenty to do. This does not include my spring cleaning or fall cleaning. Usually I run out of time to do them.

I am not a planned by the minute type of person. I do have a set routine in the morning:

1. Get up - make coffee
2. Fed dogs
3. Turn on the computer while coffee is brewing
4. Check web forums and email

After that it depends on what I have on the Most Important Task - side of the to-do list. Once I pick one of those then I start working on it. This past week and most of this week is going to be purging, shredding and filing paperwork in the binders and out of the file cabinet. Then I can use the file cabinet for my craft papers and scraps!!!

I now have 4 lists that I am working on since I have been out of college on break for about 3 weeks. I got about half of all of them done. And I also got some other things accomplished as well. I will be ready to go back to college soon. Can't wait to get the last 3 months done!

I have a day planner and a giant chalkboard calendar painted on the wall by my desk. I have monthly appointments, classes, parties, and birthdays on the wall calendar posted for everyone to see at a glance; then I keep my daily to-do list in my day planner. I make a light sketch for the week on Sunday, and then pencil in more things each morning as I see needs arise. As I get things done, I take a highlighter and cross things off, this allows me to still "see" what I accomplished, and I like that feeling smile If something didn't get done, it slides to the next day. I'm still very bad about planning out meals for the week, and I'm working to incorporate this into my daily to-do lists.
