Yesterday was a good day for me. I felt like I got a lot done even with my change of plans. My lady friend phoned and asked me to go for coffee with her in the afternoon so I did. Report from yesterday - bathe the dogs (their white hair is no longer white) - go check on a couple of tank tops that are available via the online garage sale site - hoe/pull weeds in the garden (baby steps) - PUPA and reorganizing with the new-to-me furniture (baby steps) For today - - hoeing in the garden (baby steps) - PUPA and reorganizing with the new-to-me furniture (baby steps) - take recycling to the bins (no curb pick-up here ) - walk dogs - puppy training (ongoing) - other tasks?

Thanks Diana! My new hammock swing came today, so maybe I'll get some swing time with a good book ~ trouble is my monkeys usually come to perch on my shoulders :P My trip is just up to my Mom and Dad's. Just the timing of it that I have mixed feelings about ~ passports haven't come so its a mute point ~ just have to work towards being ready when they do come as I don't have all summer... Today was an exceptionally busy day... The girls had 4H achievement days and did very well ~ all blue ribbons for what they exhibited. They went on to do the Consumer Choice Contest. DD1 ended up taking 3rd place on that ~ but accidentally was given the 1st place prize which was a bummer when they came and took it back :P While they were doing that I got Df's gift cert and took that and her other gift that I inadvertently came home with at our joint party and got a short but sweet visit with the twins. We had a 3/4 of an hour or so, so we went and watered the flowers at the assisted living home. We're hot and dry... Came back for the awards and then they were given pictures to make a scrapbook page. I was asked to help out with the pages since the ones in charge weren't scrappers (but had good scrapbook tools!) Then, DD had her ball game ~ which she did very well at ~ definitely not the star of the team, but some good solid confidence building plays tonight they finished off their season with pizza and rootbeer floats. Then we hit the pool for the evening swim session. And when we came home I watered out flowers and repotted the plant I was given during the parade. so this is why I've had mixed feelings about the trip ~ I would really like to be at my parents' tomorrow evening, but I really don't want to be up half the night cleaning/packing and then get up early and drive 15 hrs straight to get there tomorrow :P Since we're not leaving tomorrow, we will be doing reading count quizes at the library and picking up our exhibits from the hall. My kids need down time ~ so they will set the pace...

I think some down time is good for everyone Maureen, you included. Sounded like an over the top busy day, Congratulations to the DDs on their ribbons. That is impressive. Sorry about the mistake. Did she handle it ok? I feel sorry for her disappointment.
Been picking up papers for my next scrapbook. DGs is graduating HS next year, so want to start gathering items. He is an athlete so I found some NEAT paper I can use on a couple of pages! Slowly gathering up items. Keep putting off the photos, have to dig in and get them assembled. So much easier making cards!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today: Routines and ETEing Desk day Trash gathering Luncheon Babysteps in Pantry and basement Embroidery
Maureen, you've been busy busy busy! It's probably just as well if you wait a bit before visiting your parents - we've been getting violent thunderstorms the last couple days. Other areas around me have had tornados that luckily did not result in damage. All I got was a thunderstorm that knocked out the power for a couple hours last night.
Update from yesterday - hoeing in the garden (baby steps) - PUPA and reorganizing with the new-to-me furniture (baby steps) - take recycling to the bins (no curb pick-up here ) - walk dogs - puppy training (ongoing)
The dogs do a lot of wrestling style play but they are gentle with each other. They have had a couple of naps sharing the same dog bed. So I think it would be safe to say they get along! Mack is close to full-grown and Molly is still growing. They were almost identical weights when I got Mack and now Molly is about a pound heavier.
For today - - go check out a second dog bed (available through the local online garage sale) - puppy training (ongoing) - walk dogs (at least a mile, preferably a couple miles) - PUPA (baby steps) - hoeing weeds (baby steps) - laundry - other tasks
DS is on his way home today - he got laid off from his job. We knew it was temporary when he started. I'm looking forward to him being here but I also know he needs to find a new job. Selfishly I'm hoping he can find something close to my home!
Maureen, I'm sorry that the visit to your parents has to be delayed, but, perhaps, reading all what you had to do earlier that day, the delay was not such a bad thing, after all. Driving for 15 hrs. would have been tiring enough, even if you had rested up the day before the drive, but doing it after a busy day and little sleep would have been too much. Darlene: Hope your son finds something closer to you. Glad to hear that Mack and Molly are getting along.  ************ I didn't quite finish my list, yesterday, so, I'll add them to my list for today! JDIs for today: - Post Office to mail bill payment- Pick up check- Bank - Paperwork/filing - Clean bathrooms - Water the garden, front and back
Ladies, You all do so much each day. I know myself there are little things I do that I don't post! We do great!
The weather reports are saying 100 today, and I called my friend from crocheting that I was going to drive home after (her DS will take her there) and she was going to call me about not going today either.....great minds. So I can finish up the pantry, maybe do another babystep in the basement, and read and embroider and stay INSIDE!
Diana: Good idea to stay indoors when it is so hot outside.  Do you have a/c? If so, it'll be easier to keep cool. If not, keep the drapes drawn/shades down, turn on any fans you might have, drink plenty of fluids, and take it easy. Received a phone call, yesterday, giving me the news that an aunt had passed away. She was 91, so, it wasn't unexpected, but still, a little sad at the same time. Spent some time on the phone, afterwards, trying to call various family members to condole/pass on the news. JDIs for today: - Leave note for gardener - DONE - Give DD and friend a ride downtown - DONE - Finish up yesterday's list (Bank, etc.)
My condolences to you, Bless. Even when it is expected, it is always sad to say good-by to a loved one.
