Happy Birthday Carol. Hope you had a delightful day, delicious chocolate cake and wish you the very best year ever.

I have updated my list and almost all of it is completed.

Have to wait 2 weeks to change my phone number- got a new phone tho.

Need to work on unpacking and re-arranging the apartment.

Dianaro....You can use whatever paint you happen to have on hand. I just used some cheap craft paint.

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes! I love all my GONer friends! smile

I had a fabulous birthday. In the morning, I shared slices of virtual birthday cake with my Dinosaur campers (all 150 of them). In the late afternoon, we went to DS' house. His girlfriend had everything decorated up Hawaiian style. We had leis, flowers for our hair, sunglasses, even grass skirts. Coconuts and palm trees on the table. Apparently, my parents were in on it too because when they showed up DF was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and DM was wearing a mumu. DS made patty melts on the BBQ and potatoe= wedges. YUMMY! We had the BEST chocolate cake ever too. DS girlfriend, T, had a mysterious rash appear on her entire body Tuesday while she was at work, and they sent her home. Her skin was on fire and she even passed out once. We finally convinced her to go to the ER last night. SO...DD and I stopped by the store to get some milk and then headed to the ER and sat in the waiting room with them for a little while. We were still in our luau attire so we got some pretty strange looks and a lot of laughs. One guy in the parking lot of the ER even did the hula for us. It was great fun! Turns out T has hives, or at least that's what she was diagnosed with. They gave her some epinephrine and some other stuff last night because she was swelling up, and then some cortisone for the next 5 days. Poor girl was quite the trooper for my birthday though!

This is something that is weird to admit, but it was very nice to have a birthday without any fighting (aka drama) yesterday. Every year that Rob and I were together, he would always get in a horrible mood on my birthday and end up ruining the day. I kind of feel like I should feel guilty that he wasn't able to do that this year, but I don't really feel guilty at all. Is that strange?

We took Hunter Kitty to his new home yesterday too (since we were going there any way). He investigated the entire house, and then hid under a chair. He wanted outside this morning so they let him out, but haven't seen him since. He's been known to wander and explore quite extensively so I'm pretty sure he'll show up again soon (or venture the 10 miles back to our house - I hope not, but I know that one of my DSis' cats did that.)

I've finished painting the frame for my embroidery (Calm, Peace, Tranquillity) and hung it in my office area. I LOVE how it came out. I used an old-fashioned floral print scrapbook paper to embelish the frame, and it just says "me".

I've taken in one of the skirts I got on my last thrift store haul. (I'm planning on wearing it tomorrow.) One more skirt and two shirts to go before I'm finished with that whole project.

Oh, and good news, DS has loads of rocks at his house so I was able to find some for my turtle and frog. HURRAY!

And, I've put coat #3 of the sealer on DD's music chair. I'm thinking maybe 5 coats should do it. I want to make darn sure that thing is well protected.

Thanks Carol on any old paint! That will be an after the 4th project for me. Glad you foundyour turtle and frog rocks,
Great that you had such a wonderful party, you so deserve it!

Not to feel guilty, why should you? You paid your dues and although you miss the good things about Rob, you can forget the bad things. ((((((HUGS)))))).

I've heard that the cats and dogs find their way home. Hunter (that is one of my grandpuppy's names) knows he will have company with you and DD. Maybe he misses crabby lady! LOL Sorry I couldn't resist that.

Sorry about DS's gf, but glad it wasn't anything too serious.

Not too much to report. Hoping to do some card projects I may have started and not finished this weekend. Want to work on embroidery also.

It is soooo hot outside, the best thing is to stay inside and vegg.

Good news! Hunter Kitty returned to his new home later yesterday afternoon, ate some food, drank some water, lounged in the shade on the front porch, and then entertained his new master by doing tricks on the stairs. He's a curious guy and loves to go exploring so I'm sure he was just out making friends in his new neighborhood.

Session 1 of Dino Camp is complete. And, it was a HUGE success! The kids loved it. The parents loved that the kids loved it. And, I had a blast doing it. Now, I get to do it all over again starting July 30th. smile But, until then, I have lots of time for all the projects on my Summer Goals list (I've got about half of them crossed off already.)

I don't mean to make anybody jealous or anything because we are usually the ones who are sweltering every summer, but so far this summer has been wonderfully cool here. It is supposed to heat back up to 100 by July 4th though (back to normal for us). I'm sorry that our usual weather seems to have invaded the rest of the country. Definitely time to stay indoors and sip lemonade for all of you folks. Dianaro...It's PERFECT weather for embroidery!

DD's BFF is coming from Tennessee on Sunday to stay with us for a week so tomorrow it's going to be house-cleaning day for us. We don't want her thinking we're slobs or something. DD is SO excited! (About her BFF coming, not so much the house-cleaning part.) wink

Sunday evening will be DD's annual Summer concert with her orchestra. They are so good it just always amazes me that my very own DD can be a part of something that makes such beautiful music. And, they are a wonderful group of all ages (from 12 - 90). She calls them her Band Croonies, and she adores them.

So glad Hunter came home and entertained your DS! Too cute.

Yes, it is a perfect time to stay indoors and embroider. It is HOT and the sqirrels and birds are drinking and bathing in the water fall I have on the side of the screened in. So lovely to share. We had a thunderstorm this morning for about 1/2 hour, and Chicago got a heavy rain! Not us....but rain is predicted for a couple of days, but they are isolated showers...
Been watering my herbs and plants.

Glad the Dino camp went so well, I knew it would. Great going Carol, and I am happy you are making such good progress on your crafts.

Too funny about DD and your remarks about her being excited about her BFF coming and not the house cleaning!

Carol - Ah glad Hunter came home, and that you had a fab birthday. I concur with the ladies no need to feel guilty about not missing the bad parts of R's personality.

We all feel that way about difficult people we love and have lost (and some that are still with us). I know it was a relief at my cousin's wedding recently that my nan was not there to cause trouble between her children and step children, and their families. It doesn't mean we love them or miss them any less just that we are aware of their faults ((HUGS))

I have completed all my goals this month apart from the ongoing garden project. I have made great progress in the garden though with a little help from DH smile
