Mary, I've never bought kielbasa except as a sliced cold meat from the deli (we love it, especially DGD). I guess you are going to cook a whole piece of sausage. How will you do that, please?

Carol: The block-of-the-month quilt sounds like a fun project.

Goals update:

Spiritual: Keep up with daily devotions; Attend at least one prayer meeting in June (2 are scheduled): daily devotions

Environment: maintain with daily ETEing, weekly routines, Branches and Room of the Month for deep cleaning; landscape front garden: did a whole-house cleaning

DD: Do something fun to celebrate the end of her 2nd year of college (attend the Cleopatra exhibit?)

Family: The goal in June is contact with at least 1 family member per week (phone call, e-mail, or meet in person): had cousins over to dinner on Sun; e-mailed another cousin who is overseas

Friends: Schedule at least one lunch or dinner with a friend in June: called and invited friend to dinner, but she wasn't able to make it; will try again, later

Community/Neighbors: arrange for a coffee date with one neighbor in June.

Health: schedule medical and dental appts. for myself; monitor my weight; increase my exercise levels.

Career: Probably work 2 weekends, this month: worked this past weekend

Finances: work on my budget for June.

Time Management: Better time management! Less procrastination. Implement schedules and routines

Leisure: work on the patchwork quilt top I am making: sewed some, yesterday

Thanks Dianaro! I have noticed that my DD is really following in my footsteps in regards to being able to make things out of nothing. She had a friend spend the night last night, and she wanted to know where she learned all this stuff that she just dreams up, and she told her that she learned it from me. Made this mama proud!

Bless...The block of the month quilt-along is fun so far. I can't wait until I am finished up with work on Friday so that I can get back at it.

Here is my summer goals list so far (I'm sure I will change things here and there as I go along):

Burn Bday party pictures to CDs and mail
Clean out desktop favorite bookmarks
Organize favorites on laptop and desktop
Blog tips/recipes for DD and DS to reference
Redo class webpage
Find virtual museum tour for dino camp
Make project samples for dino camp

Complete Mentor Course at UCSD (Due by June 15th)

Help DD with Algebra II
Work on Simple Abundance album with DD

Menu planning

Read: The Help (Then watch movie)
The Mercy
Waterfalls
Clouds

Quilting: Block of the Month
R’s T-shirt quilt

Sewing: Take in teal shirt
Take in brown shirt
Hem blue shirt
Make skirts – brown
navy
Make yellow dress for DD

Office: Paint office shelves
Line backs of office shelves
Make table skirt for desk table
Go through binders – organize – purge

Bathroom: Hang clock
Paint 2 frames
Put sunflower prints in frames and hang

Living Room: Finish craft space
Print and frame sewing subway art from craftgossip
Decorate mantle
Empty remaining boxes

Bedroom: Empty tote bag
Hang embroidery hoops

I'll also be helping DS move into his new house within the next week or so after he gets it all cleaned up.

And, I would love to spend some time lounging by the pool at our condo complex too.

Goodness Carol
You have the entire summer planned! Great going! Definitely do babysteps and also have the pool listed each week. Pick a day for it, and stick to it! Make it a priority you deserve it.

Bushlady:
I generally boil the kielbasa, and eat it that way. I like to purchase some pierogis to eat with it also.

Thanks Mary and Diana, I shall have to try these ideas sometime.

Carol, how nice that your daughter has picked up on your creativity and resourcefulness. This will stand her in good stead in her future. There is something very satisfying in taking what you have around you and working with it.

Haven't done much on my goals yet, I get sidetracked!

LOL at Dianaro....I HAVE to make a detailed list for my time off or I would just sit here for weeks and spin my wheels and then come August 1st I would wonder how come I didn't get anything done that I wanted to. This is the first summer in ten years that I will not have R with me getting me sidetracked with adventures all over the state. LOVED those adventures, but this summer I need to be productive to keep myself sane. I could very easily fall into a major pity-party if I don't keep myself occupied with a list of projects.

I already finished one thing on my list and have another one half finished. I completed reading The Help today and checked the movie out of the library to watch this weekend. I also burned the CD's of DF's birthday party to send to my brothers and sister. Now I just have to get them ready for mailing.

Hi Carol: I was at the library today as support for a friend who was doing a presentation there today. They were putting out staff favorites as I was leaving and I picked up a new book on maximizing small spaces. It was a fun read and I wondered how you and DD were adjusting to apartment living?

I'll try some tweaks here as I'm still trying to make it easier to retrieve and put stuff away.
