Feels good, I literally deleted THOUSANDS of work emails last week. Have to stay on top of it of course and I have lots more to go.

Kimberly, I, too, this morning deleted hundreds of "old mail". I didn't realize it was such a huge box. Halfway through it, I realized I could delete page by page so I maybe did a thousand or two myself.

I've been keeping up a little too well with deleting e-mails, as very recently I somehow managed to delete a sent one from 18 months ago that I never put in a separate folder! I was asked for the list attached to it, but since had I sent it to 4 people who might need it, I really think it was their responsibility to hang on to the information!
I guess they didn't know I was a GONer and that after a certain time I even get rid of hard copies if I don't need them myself.

Well, thank goodness someone else has their e-mails organized and the e-mail I sent with the list of music (took hours to type up) has been found!

I'm down from 4700+ in my biz inbox to 861 at the moment. Like to get it down to 100 but it will be slow going. Many of them contain info I need to make available.

I'm always amazed at the number of e-mails some people have to deal with and when DH joined Facebook the other day to connect with a particular group, he did fortunately use a second e-mail account. I was explaining to him how FB works, how you get notifications every time one of your friends posts, or one of your friends' friends likes or comments on something your friend has posted.
It seems to me that we can reduce our FB notifications by limiting our FB friends. It's okay to say No to friend requests if you want, and it is okay to defriend some friends. Life is too short to spend it reading 18 comments on something happening to someone who is one of the 150 friends of one of your friends. It extrapolates incredibly, so if you want to save time and sanity, it is worth taking a look at your friend list and deciding which ones are really important to you. Especially eliminate the ones with 400 friends, unless you truly care about them!
The reason the GON forum works so well is because we can connect with a limited number of people and enjoy "getting to know them" through their postings on the threads

Bushlady - You can hover over the persons name and then go down to settings and untick "comments and likes", "photos" etc that way you will only see what they post as a status or if they comment or like something you have put on. I have done this with all my friends, as like you say who wants to know if your friend likes someone you have never met's photo etc. You can also go on your friends wall and click on notifications and select that you don't see their updates in your newsfeed. I have done this with my brother, as as much as I love him he clogs my news feed up with his self righteous posts and Madonna videos. I can't unfriend him, but this way when I get time I can go on his facebook page and catch up with what he is doing. I hope that helps
