I am bouncing off the walls. I've just got home from sitting my English exam, and I'm crossing everything that I've passed. I'm going to chill out for the rest of the day and go do some window shopping for something nice to buy as a reward for all my hard work.

I told myself it was high time I stopped procrastinating. I'm now off till Thursday so it's always a great motivator for me to have my stretch of days off. Yesterday, first day off, I mowed the lawn and then went to Wal-Mart with DH. We then came home and watched TV.

This morning, I went to a couple of yard sales in the neighbourhood. Only spent $3. and it was on useful stuff. Very pleased with myself.

Earlier in the week, I removed the wallpaper I was putting in the living room and we had a guy come and plaster that wall. We'll paint that wall instead of putting up wallpaper. Today, DH sanded the plaster and I put the primer on it. It's now paint ready which will be done tomorrow (DH's choice) or Monday (my choice). wink

Thank you Diana! had time to read your message before I left this morning smile I'm pretty sure I aced it! It's a formality I have to explain the written work I did, it's their way to make sure I'm the one who wrote it... Still it is nerve racking when I have a blind spot! I worked until very late. Little sleep, shower and made myself a protein drink. Put gas to the car and arrived 15 minutes early.

When I returned I stopped on the way to go to IKEA, love that store, it was nice to walk around, it felt like the world had been lifted from my shoulders. Resisted the urge to buy bigger stuff. I got a light bulb for my living room reading lamp and a picture frame and some cinnamon rolls, DD loves them, she's coming over tomorrow for supper. I took a nap for two hours!

Went out to get tylenols and some roasted chicken next door from the drugstore. Rented a movie and ate my food. I've been working hard all week on this assignment, my neck and upper back is very sore, I do not have a good chair to be sitting at the computer for so long. It felt wonderful to lie on the couch and do nothing!! I'm off to bed now, tomorrow is another day!

Hi everyone. 2nd day of June and already on page 2!

Yesterday was a very productive day for me at the office (got a project more or less completed), but, after I picked up DD from campus and came home, I was so tired, I fell asleep! So, none of the house-related tasks I had listed on my To Do list got done!

Today, however, was a more productive day:

- Took DD to gymnastics & back
- Worked on the office document I brought home to do over the weekend
- Paid a bill
- Went with DD to the bank
- Went with DD to the post office
- Took DD to campus to work on her group project
- Grocery shopped on the way back
- Ran the dishwasher and washed the pans and a few other things by hand
- Doing laundry (bedding & sofa covers) now

I didn't water the garden yet, so, will do that tomorrow. House cleaning, too, will be done tomorrow, in between working on the office document.

Purdy, Karen and Bubblegum, congratulations on being done with your studies for now! Hope you reward yourselves with something nice.

Yesterday I got an email about the wheelchair I had on CL. The people were coming in an hour. I pulled it out of the garage and it looked yucky. So, scrubbed it down and it was sparkling when they came to get it and I got some "extra" spending money. And, another thing out of here.

Had to go to the bank and the super drug store for a few things.

Got the inside of the refrigerator cleaned. Tossed more items. Walked Finn and saw the new neighbor, we had a short chat.

Vacuumed the LR and the area rugs. Laura made chili and we hung out a bit.

Today I would like to work outside a bit while it is still cool here, the weeds are taking over the gardens.

It did my heart good to read you rested and relaxed. I can understand the professor wanting to know how you wrote your paper.

Bless:
Gee, you actually rested! Miracles do happen.

Waterlady:
Great going on your sales. I have bountiful weeds also.
Asked the landscaper to take care of them. I cannot do that type of work that much, so he can use the money, and I can use the help. Had him clean the back porch with the blower. Much nicer now...

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Worked on the basement and emptied the large bin, sorted and put aside for gift giving. Have a couple of tables to sort thru and then the gifts will be ready for packing and tagging.
Vacuumed some of the floor after I moved the bin!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOO! Purdy! did the same thing yesterday after my presentation, yay window shopping!
Diana, I'm part of a special program where we do not get regular class courses, it's based on the knowledge I have learned through life and my job. I only get the assignments, Need to be about 15-20 pages long, then present it to my tutor (means of verifying -I- do possess the knowledge and I didn't have someone else do the written projects).
Since it's new, I'm in the 4th group (2 each year), we have to work on assignments during summer, I don't get a break. If they decide I need to learn more I'll be given class hours to attend when the regular classes of fall session starts. I do have 1 course I have to do; it's about how to move a disabled person from chair to bed, etc... And it’s only a few hours, have to schedule it in somewhere. I also have to do an English assignment, as second language! Don't for see any problems there! It's requested for the degree, I have to meet with a teacher so he can give me the assignment on that; have to schedule that too.
I also have a few presentations that will be done live on the spot, with others, and will be graded on my performances. Those will happen in august, kind of an all day thing. These are the ones making me the most nervous. When all is said and done it may take me as little as 6mo to a year to finish it all and get my degree, instead of the regular route that takes 3 years with countless class hours added...
The part I like the most is when I read the material, because I've borrowed the books from the girls (special eds) at work I can immediately relate because I'm already doing it, but now I know what the technique is called! It’s also what makes it easier to explain at the presentations. The professor liked my work, he said it was easy reading, I had a good sense of humor, very clear and the many examples made it easy for him to see I understood and was able to apply the knowledge. He even said he learned a few things. After 20+ years of not attending school, to say I was on a high when I left was an understatement!
Well thanks for letting boast a bit!
Today I had breakfast on the patio again, did the dishes, organized the cupboard above the refrigerator and found homes for the stuff living on top of the refrigerator... did monthly cat treatment against fleas, did a load of wash and folded yesterday's clothes (I dry most of my tops on hangers, being 6' tall I can't afford any shrinkage. I’m already buying XL, if I go up a size it's just wider not longer).
I went to the bank, had to deposit a check and went for groceries after that. Ate lunch and now getting ready to work on the next two assignments I got yesterday, do not want to wait at the last minute. Even though I thought I had started early (one week before due date) I still worked until past midnight and it was due the next morning. My goal is to be finished at least one or two days in advance, now that would be a first for me! Just a few hours a day instead of the 12+ hours, 3 days in a row, I did last week.
Break is over, time to write! I’ll try and get my June goals posted later...
WTG Karen and Bubblegum, great going. I hope you've passed with a brilliant grade - the long wait is now on.
I ordered myself a Maxpedition Fatty in black. They are meant for men but to be honest they just don't do the equivalent in nice female colours.
Today I got all the seasonal shoes out and the winter ones put away, then all but the coats in the loft/attic.
I then sat down and watched 4 hours of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Regatta. I was very glad I didn't go to watch it live as they all got drenched and the TV had such good coverage. The Queen was in a beautiful gold and red barge all the way up the Thames to Tower Bridge surrounded by 1,000 boats of different sizes and powers.
While this was on I made up 100 page signatures and then sewed them together. I just need to glue it and stick on the backing board for the journal.
