I need a 36-hour day! Then, maybe, I'll get some things done!

Yesterday, after I came home from work, I stayed out in the garden, because my gardener was there, working on the rose beds, weeding and mulching. I stood chatting with him and his aunt (my neighbor) who came over to visit, held the bouquet of roses the gardener cut for me (he was pruning the rose bushes in addition to weeding and mulching), and ate loquats picked off the tree! laugh Oh, we also discussed garden plans and future projects, so, I guess, I could claim to have been "planning my garden"! Only, it wasn't on my JDI list!

I had 30 mins. between the gardener leaving and having to go to p/u DD from campus, during which I arranged the roses in 2 vases and placed on the living room mantle next to my DM's photos, cooked and ate an egg and a potato for a quick dinner, and fed the cats. Then, I went for DD, who got off work at 9:00 p.m.

Came home, had coffee and a snack (DD had bought something for her dinner and eaten during her break at work), washed the dishes from lunch and coffee, etc., wrote an e-mail to a friend and it was past midnight! 12:45 a.m., when I went to bed.

Up at 5:30 a.m. today, to make coffee and fix our lunches, etc.

JDIs for today:

- Put gas to the car - DONE
- Return call from tax preparer - DONE
- P/U DD
- Pay bills
- Finish yesterday's list!

Tina'
Hope you are feeling better.

Bushlady,
I have days like that, wondering how much sleep a person needs!
Everyone says if you are sleeping than your body needs it.

The ladies were great and helped themselves and set up the table and chairs and took them down for me also. So sweet. They are a lovely group, and we share a show and tell sometimes too.

While I longed for sunshine yesterday, I've learned there were teeny snow flurries in other parts of the city. The plants are still in their nursery pots and in the entry hall every night, it's too cold for container gardening.

I've not been keeping to-do lists and I sure see its relationship to time management. Routine tasks can take all the time available. Friday I strip and remake beds, put out fresh towels, dust, vacuum, and use up leftovers. Took advantage of chill to create an original version of Creole Gumbo melding flavors in a braising pot. It turned out better than expected and we've been enjoying it from 1st bowl around 4:30 pm to dinner at 7 pm.

Today for every hour of work, I think I took 2 hrs of reward.

Cyd:
Good for you! We all need that US time. Glad to hear you took some. I agree whatever time you have to use the project works out that way.

Darlene:
I could have finished quite a few UFP, but I was too uncomfortable between the meds (and getting sleepy) and keeping my foot elevated. Still swollen, and hopefully I will complete something!

Yesterday I even had to have a nap before starting supper! We have been using the gazebo a lot. DH helps me carry out our "cuppas" or lunch and yesterday, even supper. Cyd, I do hope your weather warms up soon. Sometimes you need to take that extra reward time just to help get over the weather. : )

Yesterday evening we watched a video and I finished sewing the trim and fasteners on a Barbie wedding dress for DGD. I've no further plans for Barbie clothes, too fiddly!

JDI:
Dailies
Got to town for Farmer's Market
Look in on community club yard sale?
Go to store where I can start a batch of wine
The afternoon will be spent puttering
Go to local musical in the evening.

Update from yesterday -
- get DS's car from the garage

- sweep the kitchen and living room floor (puppy feet bring in a lot of dirt smile )
- other tasks?

DS's car is going to need a few more repairs than anticipated to make it road safe so it is still in the garage. But he has to leave today to drive to the location for his new job so he'll be taking my van. He and I will figure out how to switch vehicles later. That meant that we had to clean out the van (remove DH's platform that allowed him to haul lumber with it; put the rear seats back in and vacuum)

For today -
- help DS (if needed) as he gets ready to leave
- sewing
- see about selling some furniture to a used furniture dealer
- puppy training (ongoing) My pup is a very smart dog!
- PUPA (baby steps)
- other tasks?
