Mary, I know that feeling, just push it aside. It can't have been that important or you would eventually find out as I did that you had run out of bread or something similar. (I discovered half a loaf of day old bread bought for croutons in the freezer and that saved me from going all the way to town. It is good enough for toasting).
I'm fascinated, and slightly envious, by how long you manage to sleep at times. If I ever slept for 10 or 12 hours I would think I had died and gone to heaven, LOL!
Well, I got the blanket done, and I got us tickets for the local musical, and we have an outing planned with a group of friends, so that is my mini goal list taken care of!

i realized 2 things i forgot.... some noncritical budget work and i WAS going to go ahead and move the coke out of the way for delivery of my new dw tomorrow.
i took a break last night around 11pm for a cup o' noodles and finished up reading my 75 email for thu at 1am. then i listened to a webinar and read the last of my downloads. i ran 'disc clean up' while listening to 2 motivational tapes and picked out an outfit and restocked the toilet paper in addition to knitting while i listened. i ate 2 snickers bars and went to bed at 345am. i woke at 7am and listened to another motivational tape, then took a bath and shaved. i dusted the mbr, read 1 sect of my book, did the dailies inc restocking the reg coke, then read juno for 30 min before leaving for my dr appt. it was a good thing we left early b/c we took the wrong exit and then when we were almost there we missed the turn. traffic was horrible. i was still on time tho and even had time to use the rest room. when i got home i made up for not smoking for over 2hrs by chain smoking for about 3 hrs. every hr i would let the ash tray cool for 10 min before i dumped it and during twenty of those min i read more juno email. the last 10 min break that i took i ate another cup o noodles. that was at about 5pm and was the 1st thing i ate since getting up. i then finished up my 75 email for fri and went just outside to get my pool pass. that took 20 min as there was a long line. mary

Dianaro....You're so right, so much has happened in my life in this past year. I need to keep reminding myself of that so that I will realize that it's OK to cut myself some slack here and there.
I have begun work on my 5 Dinosaur Camp PPT's. I'm about halfway through all 5 of them. They're due to be turned in for approval next Wednesday.
8th grade graduation this afternoon went very well. Lots of hands made light work. It was very well organized, 3 students spoke, and a fabulous keynote speaker as well. We even had cake and punch refreshments and a photographer to take each graduates portrait. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I had to work with the group of teachers from the city on it. We all work great together as a team, but they are what I refer to as the "pretty people". Not because they necessarily ARE pretty, but because they THINK they are pretty with their fancy cars and fancy clothes and hair and makeup. I just always come away from a function with that crew feeling a little bit like a hick from the sticks. It's OK. I'll get over it, and I only have to get together with this particular group once or twice a year so it's tolerable.
I just finished giving DD a Life 101 lesson. I've been trying to work as many of those in as I possibly can since R's death because 1. You never know - I could be next. 2. She's going to be 18 in 14 months and needs to know how to take care of things so she doesn't HAVE to depend on someone else to do them unless she WANTS to. I want her to be able to be self-sufficient.
So, her latest Life 101 lesson was clearing a clogged bathtub drain. I have done it many, many times before very simply, but this tub had a different kind of plug than I had encountered before so I went to my trusty ole computer and Googled the thing. Five minutes later, we had it apart, drain cleared and put back together good as new. Next time it happens, I'll have her do it herself to make sure she's got it.
All my family is arriving at different times tomorrow and all staying in different places and then laying low until Sunday so that the party will be a surprise for our Dad. So, after working tomorrow, the next thing on my agenda will be putting together the party decorations.

Carol: You do very very well. Hey those ladies aren't from OC or Beverly Hills are they! I think that is why they feel a "need" to over do! Cannot believe the importance of looking good in their lives! I know it is a show, but it is over the top! LOL
Just keep being YOU.
Good luck with the party, please wish your dad a happy birthday from me.

Carol, I think certain cities propagate that kind of mentality. When we were in Europe we saw a lot of the platform soles and 6 inch heels, and the overdone clothes and makeup. It is so good to be back in the sticks where people dress nicely but not OTT. As for fancy cars, we love them for rentals - a real treat to have satellite radio and all the other bells and whistles - but we own ancient cars that are very solid and fixable. Enjoy your Dad's party, hope he has a wonderful time. Your decorating plans sound great. Simplicity and flair seem to be your gift!
Mary, my reactions to your post were to laugh because one half of me was wanting to "tutt, tutt" at your chain smoking and the other half was cheering you on because you seem to be such a free spirit! (I shall be praying for your health, though).
I think I am going to add a late goal, to finish a dress alteration project that has been lurking in the closet for a few years since I first took it apart.

i finished up on here at 8pm yest, but couldn't get to sleep til 130am. i had a cup o noodlesat 830 and finished off the box of cheeze its at 1. i woke at 11am. i took a bath, then listened to dool while i did the windexing. i also wiped out the k frig and the microwave. i washed my clothes and they were drying when the man got here to install my new dw. i read 2 sect of my book while he was here, then did the dailies. i cleaned under where the dw was being replaced and he was gone in less than 1 hr. i dropped off my suit to be dry cleaned and picked up my skirt, then had a quesadilla at taco bell. came home, made a salad for later, put away the clothes, got down another new pair of socks, removed the tags from my skirt, worked on the budget and ran the dw. i was finished at 7pm and got on here w a break for some corn flakes at 9pm mary

Diana, it was a blanket for the Jabez Blanket Ministry. Someone else had knitted 40 squares and I crocheted around them, 3 rows, one variegated, one white, the last row being black which makes the colours "pop". Then I sewed them together, arranging the 4 centre colours carefully, and finally crocheted around the whole blanket in black.
We are going to see an amateur musical this evening, "Chicago".
Mary, you must be glad to have your new DW. We got ours replaced last year. They are much quieter than they used to be.
