Diana, that's a great idea to just use the closet by side then you don't have the pack it up get it out thing every season! Great idea!
Waterlady, have a fun time with dd this weekend. You've already gotten quite a bit done today!
Up early today and taking advantage of the quiet. I don't much like getting up so early but I love the quiet! Hope everyone has a wonderful day today!

So nice to sleep in this morning! I needed it! Then DH and I ran together! Ran for a longer amount of time, and knocked off 20 seconds off my total time!! I made it 1.675 mi before I felt I needed to walk!! I'm almost there to the two mile mark!!
Not sure what we're doing today. I'm thinking about going to a city wide garage sale. It's not that far from here. DH has some things he'd like to get done, and the girls have been playing since they woke up! (Good start to a Saturday, I'd say!) This was much needed after the crazy week we've had!)
Hope you all have a really wonderful day! Cya!

Finally some sun! Doing wonders for moral! Started the day with a long walk with DGF, stayed a few minutes afterwards and chatted with her. Got to cleaning front and back porches, clean furniture lay down outdoor carpet; get rid of winter decor in the planter box... Took a shower and finished cleaning the bathroom too, had started yesterday. Then had lunch and took a half hour nap. Went to the drug store for some eye ointment, but the pharmacist recommended warm water compress 4 times a day instead, that was cheap enough! Resisted the urge to buy lobster, at the grocery store next door. I have enough food in the fridge.
Working in the second bedroom at getting rid of clutter, seems it's been hiding in there... Had one laundry basket full of miscellaneous stuff that went either in the closet or in the shed. Closet needed straightening. Papers on the bed needed shredding, organizing and filing. Top of dresser also overrun with stuff. Sigh.
Not done yet, taking a break. I'm so fed up with it being never done. I don't understand why I can't put it away the first time around! I know it's partly because I have too much stuff for the storage space I have which makes it difficult to access/store it easily...

These last two days I've been on the road, but while hubby was driving I was making my To Do lists for next week, master lists, and sub-categories. It was nice as had plenty of uninterrupted time. Now I'm home and catching up on writing emails and letters. Tomorrow I finish my lists so they will be ready to start the week.

The second bedroom won yesterday, I never returned! Instead I did some batch cooking, chicken and spaghetti sauce. As I was about to unwind in front of the tv DS arrived and took control of it (he has his computer wired up on it) so I took advantage of my time and read/recycle yet another pile of magazines! I'm beginning to see the end of it, less than 10 I think!
I know I've got to take care of it today though, another big week ahead plus I've got to write up my first assignment for class due on the 17th. I also have a few tasks which are lingering. I bought an under bed storage 'box' (vinyl with cardboard insert and a zipper to close) for my boots, but I want to clean my boots before storing them. So they've been sitting in a pile for 2 weeks now. I have a box of winter decorations to go back to the shed; which needs to be filled first. Half of the stuff, as I took it down, has been tucked away in the closet.
I hate dealing with papers and they are spread out on the bed. I think this is why I find it so hard to start. Should do the worst job first and then have space to do the rest. Breakfast, take care of my eye and then attack!

Had a great "Mother's Day" yesterday with DD and her BF. They BBQ'd and made some great new recipes. (DD takes after me with trying something new all the time)
I was up very early this morning, then Laura and I went to Target, the dollar store and BJ's. We came back and walked Finn. I'm now cooking a Blueberry Buckle dessert for her to bring to her dad tomorrow. Don't know what's for dinner yet, maybe I'll call Laura and do some snacks on the grill.
The back yard is sprouting all kinds of tall and short stuff, I think I'll see if the weed whacker will start and try to get control of it!

Hum, I am one to procrastinate! Of course had to find something else to do than take care of those papers! On the up side, bedroom is nice and peaceful!! Kitchen got a good cleaning too. Then I took the timer and worked in babysteps, drinking water and mixing it up each time.
I worked in the second bedroom's closet for a few steps, emptied my second laundry basket; wanted to do that for a few months. Lots of winter decorations that didn't make it back to the shed, booklet from cell phone, laptop battery, toiletries, yarn and knitting needles... you get the idea. Top of dresser was piled high as well.
Last year, in June I bought some scented bottles with bamboo sticks, well they're out now! I had a shoe box full of bags of seeds, now I don't have flower beds here. Kept a few and will try them out in flower pots, not sure they will grow after a few years but it's an experiment! Cleared some much needed shelf space. All alike crafts are on the same shelf instead of all over, don't think we (DD and I) took care of putting things back in the right place after using it.
I took the ‘deluxe fabric shaver’ (says so on the box!) and shaved the fuzzies off my winter felt coat, one coat put in the donation bag, one other still not sure haven’t worn it this year, maybe the next or else it’s also gone. I had some stuff left on the shelves when exbf was here and had his DD a few times a week. Don’t need toys and baby blankets from my kids to be there, in a bin they went and will probably bring it to DM’s house, she has a few boxes of mine in storage already.
Of course papers are still stern all over the bed, and I've added a few... Speaking of papers, I found my bag I used when working night shifts, put all of my class related papers in it, looks lot less messy next to my computer. Can also carry my laptop in it when I go to DGF's house for help. Now that I've eaten it's time to regroup and do the last of it so the apartment doesn't look like a bomb went off...

Phew! I'm done for tonight. Everything that needs to go in the shed is by the patio door, everything that needs to go to my mom's is in a shopping bag and everything that needs to be donated is in a plastic bag (going on the rear car seat for prompt delivery before going to work tomorrow). I swept all the cat hairs in the corners of the bedroom; I'll mop the floor tomorrow. Last load of laundry is nearly done, the rest is put away.
I felt unsatisfied, even though I worked at least 6 hours in sorting/organizing today, because of those darn papers. I swear I think I joined GON to get a grip on it, still no success. I was browsing the home page and read the article in the organizing clinic. It said basically to have 4 boxes, action, throw away, shred and file. So my papers are already into piles but I’ve got at least 8 of them? And... I stopped there, weeks ago. I do have a filing cabinet and some labelled folders, some need weeding though.
New plan. 1) RE-sort into different categories 2) take action and process what needs immediate attention. 3) all the while coral papers to be recycled in one box –to do LATER and 4) the need to be shredded papers in another box –to shred LATER 5) file left over papers and weed existing files if need be.
Sounds simple enough right?! Let’ s not forget the reward, I have some ice cream in the fridge (DD loves ice cream) but I also have chocolate syrup, strawberry jam AND good caramel... Mmmmm!
