Thanks Bubblegum I need it. It' weird how quickly you can get out of a habit. I've really had to think what I need to get ready for myself and Dad.

Today I got the front room tided, I did need to do the kitchen floor but Im pooped now so that will have to wait.

I've typed up Dads med sheet again as his back on antibiotics, but they didnt say he had an infection, so its probably cautionery.

More babysteps done to get my house in order! Swept off my back porch, swept and hosed down patio chairs/pads, sanded and painted one wooden chair and now waiting for it to dry so I can put it all back together.

Wish I had a ton more time. My eyes started noticing other pieces of furniture that could be sanded and painted!! Another day...

Trying to get the girls to stay focused on their stuff. Only 1-1/2 hours til DH comes home. Really want things to be cleaned up so we can enjoy some family time.

We'll see!

I weeded out a few more files. I have two drawers, one for usual files: paid bills, car, medical, insurance, house... and the other is files of places I'd like to visit, crafts I'd like to do... you get the idea. I'm pleased to say the first drawer is all organized! Have only this year’s bills and all the files have been gone through and kept only what is important. I thought I had burnt out my new shredder only to learn that it doesn't work unless the container is in place, whew! Was able to finish all the shredding.

I worked on my assignment for two hours but I need to read more stuff, starting to get nervous! I grilled chicken and vegetables for supper, cut up more vegetables and made cream soup for lunch tomorrow. Stayed on the patio reading magazines for a while. What a disappointment when I came in, the place is a mess. I'm starting to get tired. Kitchen is dirty, living room has books all over, the bathroom is overrun with clean clothes and I haven't made my bed today!

Did not want to leave it like this, cleaning up before bed and waking up to a tidy kitchen is the routine that has made the biggest impact in my life. Washed the dishes and wiped the counter, picked up the leftover magazines on the kitchen table and put a fresh tablecloth.

Made my bed, picked up knick knacks accumulated on the dresser over the week, folded the clothes, pulled down the covers and light the reading lamp.

In the living room I light a scented candle, corralled all my books back in my school bag and put the things that did not belong in the tray on the coffee table back where they belong. I replaced the cushions on the couch and sat down to watch tv.

Feeling a lot better, could not go to bed after a day off and leave it in such disarray. Tomorrow I work the evening shift, more work on the assignment, grocery store for fresh fruit for breakfast on Mother's day and hopefully have time to do the floors before leaving!

Finished off my work week, had taken a day off to celebrate DS's bday. Took him to the zoo, went to dinner out, and had bday cake with the IL's. DH lost his job unexpectedly, so we are coping with that and looking forward to the next door opening for him.

Woke up early this morning to go to a church garage sale and found a few things for 3 bucks total. Headed back out for our neighborhood sale in a few min. Going to a local festival later this morning and not sure what else planned. Have to get the house company ready as we are hosting a mothers day brunch tmorrow with DH's family. Going to order out food and I have to find a good recipe for dessert and make it. Will make a grocery run today prob.

Several to-dos-
Need mortgage ck. out today
Write other checks (vehicle tax bill, parking ticket)
Order glasses online as mine broke while on vacation
clear off dining room table of paperwork
Unpack luggage

DH planning on planting the garden hopefully this weekend. We have to buy a rake to replace the one that bit the dust.

I love waking up to the clean kitchen and house. Since I returned from my trip, and the house was looking so nice, I am trying to take that couple of minutes to have the house ETEd!

Fleur:

I didn't get too much done in the house yesterday. Had to fax more papers re: the closing. Still don't have a closing date, this is ridiculous. This is the longest closing ever!

I weed whacked the back yard, mainly because most of the yard IS weeds at this point, and bare spaces. Laura came home and we went over to mom's and I pulled a few hostas from the yard to replant here. Will do that today where I weeded the side yard.

Looks like a warm beautiful day, so hope to spend it outside. I may even go buy some annuals today or tomorrow.

Fleur, so sorry to hear DH lost his job, hoping the situation will resolve soon!

Thanks Diana! It's the one routine I've incorporated the most! Great motivator in the morning, always seem as I've done the worst part 'yesterday' and it takes a lot less effort than to do it 'today'! In fact I have wipe the cabinet fronts, did the cleaning of the stainless steel appliances, made breakfast and washed the few dishes.

Felt the energy flowing so I dusted the bedroom furniture as well as the living room furniture! Worked on my assignment for an hour and now will sweep then mop the floors! I have to stop over at DM's house, not going to see her tomorrow and I need to drop off some stuff, tee hee!

Have a nice day!

Wow Bubblegum, you were full of energy and focusing! You got quite a bit accomplished! WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just did the planting of the herbs I purchased and the usual morning routines, did some embroidery and church, and out to dinner yesterday.
Today, with all my Mother's day celebrating over, I will do my laundry, go out to lunch with a friend, and come home and relax!
To all of the mom's out there HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. Hope it is special for all of you whether it be humans or furry pets you are a mom to.
Happy mother's day to all those celebrating (the UK day was a while back!) and I hope you have a wonderful day.
Fleur - sorry to hear about your DH, I hope another opportunity pops up ASAP for him.
Not a bad weekend here - the main room could do with a tidy (toy explosion) but should be able to sort that when DD is in bed shortly. Almost bathtime here now. Did a big grocery shop today so that should save me some time later this week. Someone called round for an item that DH had sold on eBay, wish they'd ring ahead of time as I had trouble finding all the bits! I'll have to make sure my husband has all the bits together in case this happens again!
Have a good one, everyone.
