We all did really well in April, I believe, even though, some days, we couldn't finish our lists. I know that May is going to be another good month for us JDIers.

My JDIs for Tues., May 1:

- DD to campus, self to work
- P/U DD from campus (she's working late)
- Clean bathrooms

The year is indeed flying by, Tina, and so far most of it has been winter!

I had to google loquats, Bless, after reading your spring garden posts. I think I may have seen them in the supermarket, but being exotic fruits at an exotic price (lol) I tend to walk past anything like that. They sound delicious so I may just break down and try some one day.

Yesterday afternoon I was in the yard in the sunshine with DGD, who announced to every neighbour who walked by, "My grandma's here!" I sewed up a seam in a favourite stuffed toy dog!

JDI:

Empty dishwasher - bottom done, DDIL did the top
E-mail DH - done
Put away pull out bed
Fold DDIL's laundry
Meet DGD off the school bus as her mom has gone to the dentist and errands
Play with DGD in the house as it is rainy
Go with all the family to DGD's swimming lesson
e-mail DH some more.

Good afternoon, all! Whew! This was a tough morning! First, trying to get to work downtown, with all the street closures in anticipation of the various protest rallies being held today. Then, a routine weekly meeting, which usually lasts 1 hr., which lasted the entire morning!

Tina: I think the world is spinning faster! How else can the days go by so quickly?

Bushlady: Loquats are expensive, here, too - they bruise easily, so don't ship well. One of the ethnic stores sells them for $4.99 for a small container.

This month already has too many tasks!
Yard work: prep & plant 5 pce container garden, 12 flower baskets, Tues. garden centre classes

Re-organize garage so outdoor equipment, furniture & supplies are readily accessible

Patio set up: power wash, place garden table, umbrella, 6 chairs, 2 lounges & cushions

Furnish deck; BBQ, refill propane tank, plastic drawer unit for outdoor/picnic meals, 12 pce. outdoor furniture

Report progress of remaining 2 yr upgrades program to Condo board

Order/coordinate removing/replacing carpet with hardwood; remove & replace carpeting on 3 flights of stairs unless I can negotiate a more reasonable price for hardwood stairs.

Carry out daily routine to keep household chores from lagging; being guest ready is necessary

Finish repairs on winter garments so they are all put in storage

Repair dogs toys [carry over from last week]

Work with DH to flush RV tanks from winterize. Clean, scrub, organize/re-stock all RV equipment, supplies, camp clothes.

Shop for wedding gifts, and a ridiculously long list of items needing to be replaced or reviewed for practicality.

Since we have a new in - old out rule, figure out what can/should be relinquished.

Ask DH to remember to review books for donations to Fire fighter annual 'Bookworm' sale.

Develop a 'staging' zone for an August target Yard Sale

My goodness, Cyd! You are going to have a busy month! But you are so well organized in so many ways that I think you'll get it all done and done well, too!

With the road closures and traffic and what not, we didn't get home till 8:30 p.m. By the time I made dinner, we ate, I packed lunches, washed the dishes and ETE'd the kitchen, it was late and I am too tired to clean the bathrooms. So, they will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hi, all. things are looking a little better at this end for me.(Bush Lady if your around thanks again for your concern). There is a light at the top of the well.
I have come home to JDI,s.I notice whilst down the "well" there were some jobs that seemed to be preying on my mind. I started trying to put these worries on paper. This led to my tackling my own personal demons list. Slighlty different than the usual master or TO DO LIST. I am working my way through these with my baby steps. Other jobs are being let go but ignored unless I write them down on my worry list. Nothing new here BUT as one friend would say .organizing depression.
The list looks surprisingly similar to old lists but I have a different approach for now.
I hated that my laundry room was never orderly,so 2 loads today and the quilts that have been sitting down there. will go to the coin laundry.put into vacuum bags and out of my sight.
My nice little room has become a drop everything on the bed room. So clear the bed even if I cant toss everything and see less confusion.
Stop here because looking after hubby and my dog takes care of the rest of the day for me.
Bit of a novel here but it is my way of coming back, saying Hello and taking some deep breaths. Ann 39.

Sounds like you have a good plan in place, Ann. It's good to hear from you. I like your idea of organizing depression! Those worries need to be dealt with in much the same fashion as our excess stuff (aka clutter).

Bushlady, my search for a comfy wheelchair cushion continues and I feel like I'm making some progress.

My list for today -
- Baby steps in my bedroom (rehang pictures and clear out no longer needed items from closet)
- Bake carrot cakes (currently in the oven)
- Do further investigation re: increasing Mom's comfort level
- laundry (I need to do at least one load)
- attend an online meeting
- other tasks?

hi Ann: what a good idea to list worries and issues that have potential to cause depression. If you banish an item each day for 21 days it will become a habit to banish that issue...I think.

I too would like to figure out why there is so much laundry! Great idea to take quilt to the giant machines at the Laundromat. Another option might be using a duvet cover. I won't recommend that on the day I'm wrestling a quilt into a duvet cover.

I went to the auction today as my reward for getting deck furniture cleaned and ready to go upstairs. Sadly I was outbid on the two items I wanted. Watching folks getting so determined and excited provided priceless entertainment. The lady to my left was so involved in the atmosphere she was bidding on stuff she didn't want. She kept telling me how happy she was that she was being out-bid as her place is really too small and we agreed prices were higher than retail.

Ann, that's a neat idea. I never thought of making that kind of a list. I do have a book I sometimes write my feelings in when things seem screwy, where I try to identify what is going on in my head!

Cyd I haven't been to an auction in years but used to enjoy a TV program where people paid the most ridiculous prices for things. Too bad you missed out on your items but great that you had the sense to make a limit when bidding.

I've just got back yesterday from a lovely family visit. It was fun to be out in the yard with DGD and hear her telling passing neighbours "my grandma's here"!

The weather seems to be warming up at last and there is a heavy mist this morning, revealing little spider webs here and there in the yard.

JDI:
e-mail DH - DONE
Phone DSF - try again
Dailies
Return two calls left while I was away
Dust and vacuum ground floor
Clean dining-room windows
Clean glass shades on light fitting
Go to town and run errands
Ironing

Good to see you again,and that you are doing better in organizing your list for your depression. (((((HUGS))))) and prayers.

Darlene:
You are doing so well with your bedroom decorating, and getting your mom settled and comfy.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Had a wonderful vacation, and am ready to get back and get something accomplished. Getting away for a few days was very refreshing.
So glad the house was clean for my return home.
DS2 and DDIL did some outside work for me for Mother's day (a little early but knew I would be nervous with the burn pile part of it). He videoed it for me. Had some lily of the valley flowers on my bedside table from DDIL! I am so blessed!
Back to work!
Thank you Bless for putting up the new month~
Sorry to say I did nothing! I have been sleeping off and on
both days. Don't know what it is, but am thinking all the previous week's work caught up with me! I am going with it, and feel some energy coming back.
Good to see others are getting things done!
Well the ironing didn't get done yesterday, nor did I go shopping. But I had a nap, and a session in the garden instead, trying out the long pruner that DS got me for Christmas (I just wish it came with built in binoculars so I could see what I am doing when it is fully extended!) I also did a fair bit of raking of lawn and some flower beds that were covered with leaves.
Then I remembered another job, and started typing up a Power Point presentation that I had promised to do for DH, copying some old overheads. I've made a good start of 10 slides.
I did go to the concert and it was excellent, and I saw people I know and had a few chats. The drive home was impressive with the huge moon, and Venus glowing on the other side of the sky.
JDI:
e-mail DH - DONE
Dailies - DONE
Finish Power Point typing - DONE
Church - DONE
Then pick up some milk and also look for that gift I need to buy - DONE - milk and groceries only
More yard work? - more raking DONE
Ironing - it will get done one fine day LOL
Watch movie and sew blanket squares together
It was a fabulous day, ate lunch outside again and spent time just wandering around yard or sitting with a book - so peaceful with birds and squirrel keeping me entertained!
I've managed to complete dailies for the month of May. I'm sticking to Branches as a life ring. It's snowed the past two days and the l-o-n-g list of outside tasks were put off yet again.
DH picked up the RV this AM and while he became incredibly frustrated when his re-installed batteries refused to function, vacuumed every nook and cranny and made up the Master List [thanks Bonnie]
Still snow out west bush lady!. down east today its actually cold but supposed to warm up later. (thats for we Canadians).I am so glad you ladies saw merit in my worry list. Like all newish ideas it has lost some of its grab. we do like to saboutage ourselves dont we. Thats exactly why my worry list has value I will not let these items get sidetracked. They are still tweaking at the corners of my mind. So stick with it Ann.ORDERS TO MYSELF> still lots of time to act somewhat spontaneously.
JDI<s for today .
Whatever time is leftover in this day will go to worry #1.
little bedroom only now my winter clothes and some clean laundry must be put away. Once done I must not use this bed to pile on again. IT becomes a real nag to me and also I never have my clothes where they should be.
My anxiety level is very high this morning. Right now I am fighting the urge not to go and get xrays done. thats a big worry for me is not tackling medical issues.There is a little 5 year old girl in this 73 year old body saying "I dont have to go if I don,t want to ". I know she is not my friend when I am trying to be an adult who tackles her worries.
Thats enough of that sort of talk here. Be patient with me I do go on so .
Get dressed.
Go for xrays.
Pat myself on the back.
Have a tea out.
Into my little bedroom. Thanks all . Ann 39.
Cyd, I remember you recommending Branches to a newbie one time. I find them helpful because instead of panicking that everything needs doing, I can focus on one area (except for urgent tasks) knowing that the other areas will get their turn.
Ann, I've heard that there are two seasons in Canada, winter and construction! But the two overlap, and while we are just beginning to feel that winter may be over, we have had road construction holding us up for weeks! That's organization for you, do it even if it is still barely possible!
Definately have a tea out when you go for those X-rays, Ann, and maybe a goodie with it? : )
JDI:
Dailies
Strip bed, launder sheets - DONE and ready to hang out. (I did not strip DH's pillows this time as he hasn't been here, and I shall put the sheets and my pillowcases back when they are dry (so they are still the matched set).
Vacuum car
Go to church for an hour
Some bathroom cleaning
Two or three necessary phone calls
Ironing (it's still waiting!)
Make yoghurt
Put out garbage and yellow recycle box
Good Morning!
Ann:
You are way too hard on yourself! Taking care of your dog, ndDH is a full time job. ((((HUGS))))).
Bushlady:
It has been raining here and no full moon to see. I am so disappointed, they said it was the largest one! Called the Flower moon. Did you know each moon has a name? I didn't previously.
Met a couple of Aussies on the trip. Many from the UK.
We even sang some songs together on the boat ride to the music that was playing on the deck! Such fun....and good times. A couple of people from Scotland also!
Okay, a little stomach upset today, so that may be why I am not so energetic....my energy is coming back....slowly.
Do a babystep in closet (for donations)
Put suitcase downstairs (DONE)
Work on beading
Address cards for mother's day to mail.
Praying Mary is doing okay.
Ann: Hope the X-rays got done without too much trouble; I'm a bit like you - I, too, put off medical tests, etc.
Cyd: You are doing so well with all your tasks.
Bushlady: You, too, seem to be doing well with your list.
Diana: Hope your stomach settles down and you feel better soon.
I did babysteps on my list, yesterday, but didn't finish many of the tasks. But, I did water the front garden, had my phone services restored, made fresh lemonade (with lemons from my trees), took a nap, visited with my cousin, called and spoke to another cousin, baked zucchini bread, scrubbed the kitchen sink and so forth. Need to focus on what I did, instead of what I didn't do.
JDIs for today:
- Water the back garden
- Weed for 15 mins.
- Continue to tidy the house
- Take the trash cans to the curb
- Pick up DD from campus (she's working late)
Did a few things except the mother's day cards. Will do that tomorrow. They are local so I can mail them and have them received in time.
I am fine now. Don't know what that was about, but glad it is over.
Bless:
To be able to pick lemons off a back yard tree is so wonderful!
You did great my friend. Yes, definitely focus on your DONEs not TO DOS
Went and picked up my meds this morning. Finished up the beading project and started the next one. Got some more donations together.
Unfortunately, the closet door on the side of the summer clothing doesn't work well, so am going to have to switch things out. Knew there was a reason I didn't do it previously. Good way to empty donations from both seasons.
I haven't done a list for a few days and I think I better do one. I seem to get more things done when I actually plan my day shocked
Mom's mobile home and lots are definitely sold with the 15th (next Tues) as the date for change of possession. That means I have to have the place totally cleaned out by Monday evening at the latest.
- with DS' help, get the things from Mom's place that I want to bring here
- start getting Mom's place set up for a yard sale this Fri and Sat
- take Ms Molly (my newly acquired 4 month old Shih Tzu cross puppy) for a vet check and her next set of booster shots (2 pm)
- sewing - Mom needs comfortable slacks and it's looking like the only way to get her some will be by using my sewing machine and my sewing skills
- get DH's obituary ready and submit to the local newspaper for publication (and a Card of Thanks as well)
- attend a church leadership meeting this evening (7 pm)
Diana, you know what they say - when your trees give you lemons, make lemonade! laugh
Darlene: You are busy and getting a lot done, with or without lists, but I agree - one seems to accomplish more with a list and a plan.
I did everything that was on my list yesterday, except the weeding. That will be put off for another day.
JDIs for today:
- P/U DD
- Call neighbor to check on her dog
- Dinner, dishes, etc.
- Paperwork
Right Bless. I just wish my yard had a lemon tree to make the lemonade! LOL
Darlene:
I whole heartedly agree about the lists. You have a lot on your plate right now, which is both good and bad. Had to move mom, (to my home) right after my DH passed. Kept my mind busy and my body tired. Praying all goes well for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Was out early and gone most of the day. Tomorrow is another day of busy errands, out early, hopefully home early.

I was gone all day, today. (How do you ladies who have full-time jobs manage to get it all done?) I'm retired, but busy none-the-less and hardly home.

Still, the only thing I managed to do today was exercise. Tonight I'll clear off the coffee table as it collects various piles of papers and try on a few pairs of summer pants to see if they still fit.

Darlene, hope you get the obit and Card of Thanks organized without too much sadness. You have a lot to adjust to right now and you seem to be doing well. ((((( Hugs )))))

After I vacuumed the car on Monday morning and then spent the hour in church, I seemed to run out of steam after lunch.

Yesterday was a bit of a dead loss, I can't even remember what I did in the day, I was in such a slump, (oh, I did go out for a haircut in the afternoon, though), After supper I perked up a bit and I got some yoghurt made and ironed a piece of fabric for another Barbie doll creation, also put some beans to soak.

This morning I woke up at about 6.45 am and decided I would get up in a short while and have a shower and hair wash and go to mass. But when I was all ready, I suddenly realised that it was nowhere near 7.45 am. I had mistaken the time and had got up just after 5.45 am, so it wasn't even 7 am!

So I went out with a bag of strips of yellow plastic, and I went round to all the amelanchiers I could find, because I was afraid that it would rain and then the blossoms would fall before I got to them. I tagged them so they wouldn't get cut down by mistake one day when they weren't in blossom.

So, JDI:

Hair wash - DONE
Trees tagged - DONE
Mass - DONE
Grocery shopping - DONE
Beans, etc. - now in crockpot
Dusting and vacuuming
Ironing (oh, there it is again!)
Around midnight, welcome DH home!

Never got the dusting and vacuuming done as I decided to work from the bottom up and vacuumed the basement and stairs instead. I have tomorrow to clean up the rest as DH got to the airport and found his flight had been cancelled, so he will be back tomorrow night instead.

Got the baked beans cooked in the crockpot and had a taster with supper and put the rest in containers in the freezer.

Got some more blanket squares sewn, and had two Skype sessions with DH. Photographed flowering trees in yard and e-mailed to DS.

Did somebody mention ironing? What's ironing?

JDI's: Tried on several pairs of summer slacks and had to put two into the pile named: "Wait-and-see-if-I-lose 5 pounds" pile! Then got charged up and went through our son's closet. He moved out but left some clothes behind. I emailed him to ask what he wanted done and he wants them tossed! Yay!

Today was "health day", in balancing the life wheel chart thingy. I went to the doc for lab work and updates on meds. He told me where I needed to improve, so it's a start!

Again, not home all day and evening so didn't get to clean/declutter.

Did everything on my list except bake the zucchini bread. DD was working late, so I came home from work at 6:30 p.m., watched news, watered the garden, called my neighbor to inquire after her ailing dog, checked the mail and dead headed the roses. Then, it was time to go for DD (8:30 p.m.) It was 9:45 p.m. when I got home after picking up DD - I was tired and fell asleep for 45 mins. Got up and did the dishes, fed the cats, etc. and now it is past 11:30 p.m.! Too late to even think of baking - have to be up at 5:30 a.m. to go to work.

I didn't get to my list as it was the nicest day we have had yet this spring so I sat outside and did some marking and planning.

So I am carrying over my list today.
Yesterday's JDI list:
-take out garbage
-clear off coffee table
-declutter living room

spent yesterday at the hospital again for tests. This weeks appts have really used up my time. this afternoon it is Charlies time at the vets. check up time for him. DH,s time tomorrow.
It would be good to go to my 'worry list".
Laundry first.
more work in the little bedroom.
meals for all. I really shut my mind to the "not getting done".One thing good that happens with age ,ones standard can decline. Or it had better. ann 39

Jo, isn't it a relief when family members agree to toss something, especially when they no longer live with you?

Oh Bless, I wouldn't even have thought of baking at 9.45pm after your day, never mind 11.30 pm! I hope today is going well. Such an early start.

Tina, nice days are such a gift after our long winters (is this one really over yet?), so I can understand you spending it outside. I've done the same.

Ann, I hear you about the appts. taking up time. It is a drag, isn't it, to be messing with doctors or dentists when one ought to be doing something exciting, or at least productive! I agree about age and standards declining. Doesn't mean living in a pigsty but does mean that there are some things more important than a perfect house. Hang in there - as Red Green (CBC) would say, "We're all in this together!"

JDI:
Phone DSF - DONE
E-mail DH - he's now at the airport, fingers crossed for a flight.
Order tickets for December concert - DONE
Cut up large box in basement - DONE
Dusting and vacuuming (didn't I see this somewhere before?) - waiting until someone comes from insurance company to photograph oil tank before vacuuming or I won't hear him at the door.
Run errands in town
Ixxxxng

Jo, you DID get something done towards decluttering and getting organized - you checked with your DS to see what he wanted done with the stuff he left behind at your place. It's great that he has given you the go ahead to just get rid of that stuff.

Ann, that's just the way life works some times. Your health and that of your family needs to take priority. And Charlie is a member of your family.

Tina, with the way this spring has been, we need to take advantage of the nice days that we get. You made a good choice!

For me today -
- continued puppy training
- sewing (this is my "project of the morning")
- meet with lawyer to sign paperwork re: the sale of Mom's place
- laundry (dry, fold and put away 1 load)
- go visit Mom this afternoon

Bushlady: I tend to be a night owl (albeit one who has to wake up early!), so, baking late at night is nothing new. But I am trying to get more than my customary 4 hrs. of sleep a night, so, I've been aiming to go to bed at 11:30 p.m. More often than not, it's 12:30 a.m. before I get to bed - still, it's an improvement over the 1:30 a.m. that used to be my normal weeknight bedtime! Today, however, should be better - I'll get home from work/after picking up DD around 7:30 p.m. Plenty of time to bake! smile

JDIs for today:

- Cook rice, warm up curries, pack lunches - DONE
- Leave note for gardener - DONE
- Farmers' Market during lunch break
- Bake zucchini bread
- Clean bathrooms
- 15 mins. paperwork

You know Ann, I try and use the doctor time selfishly when I have to wait....crocheting, a book, list making, etc. Things wait for us at home. You can only do so much in a day.

Bushlady:
I too am amazed at some of the late times Bless does things!
I use to be a night owl in my 20s and 30s, but now I am not!

Jo:
Great going on the son's clothing toss. You Rock!

Bless:
The large garden you have is a lot of work with all the rose bushes, etc. Glad you have someone to help you some.

Darlene:
What type of puppy do you have? I took Gypsy with me for a ride to the farm stand to pick up my flowers that came in today.
Think this is it for me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Had to leave early for crocheting/knitting this morning shopping afterwards and when I returned home the message about the hanging begonias was in,so I took Gypsy and went to get them and a few more flowers. Pray I don't kill them.
Have my Unfinished Project Group over today. House was vacuumed yesterday, just need to mop the kitchen, and set out the serving pieces. If it is anything like yesterday not too many will be attending. There were less than half the ladies at knitting.
DS2 and DDIL are taking me out to dinner for Mother's day this evening...perfect day for me, crafts and no cooking! LOL
I told them doing the burn pile and the front walk was more than enough of a gift already. My son laughed and teased me.
Hoping to plant the herbs and flowers I purchased this week over the weekend. It is going to be container gardening.
Diana, my puppy is a 4 month old Shih Tzu cross. She is not purebred but Shih Tzu appears to be her dominant breed. She currently weighs just less than 6 pounds.
Ms Molly
Yesterday was good day although I didn't get everything on my list done -
- continued puppy training (baby steps)
- sewing (this is my "project of the morning")
- meet with lawyer to sign paperwork re: the sale of Mom's place
- laundry (dry, fold and put away 1 load)
- go visit Mom this afternoon
In addition, I got DH's obituary and such submitted to the newspaper, and made the required phone calls re: utilities at Mom's place.
For today -
- finish setting up for the garage sale this afternoon (3 pm to 8 pm)
- get some puppy supplies from the Dog Groomer
- puppy training (baby steps)
- other tasks?
Darlene, Ms. Molly looks cute!
Yesterday p.m. didn't work out quite as planned, but that's OK. Spent some time with my neighbor, who had to have her dog put to sleep. frown Spent some time with DD who wanted her hair oiled and combed and braided while she studied for a test. smile Baking and cleaning will wait for another day.
JDIs for today:
- Finish yesterday's list!
Bless please write a book. You are able to cover all bases of life. You start with such kindness to all; animals and people and nature. you are obviously a great mom to your lucky daughter. You have got the budget and food thing down pat. you turn 24 hours into 36. through all of this you speak often of your spiritual duties and your blessings. I am so proud to know you even a little bit
Golly Ms Molly your beautiful.
More tests for Charlie.
I am glad to see he only gained 1 lb in a year I would have thought much more.
Doing laundry and then get into my kitchen one can,t really let that go. Miss the dishes once it very quickly looks like an untidy diner.I have a coouple of hours in there I think.
I too will try to do some outside work with containers this weekend if I can.
Happy weekend all Ann 39.
Ann is so right, You hit it right on the head. She DID describe you Bless (except for the queen thingy). LOL
The group met and as usual we had a great time. So glad I started it. Have tons left over, as three of the ladies brought goodies too. Will freeze them for the next session.
Darlene:
Ms. Molly is beautiful and fluffy and cuddly looking!
Made plans for tonight and tomorrow night with the boys for dinners. Sounds like a busy weekend. DN had to cancel our breakfast date.
Things all picked up from the gathering.
Darlene please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family. This is a difficult time and we are all thinking about you. May your sorrow be eased by happy memories.
Ms Molly is adorable, likely easy to train and will welcome a cuddle and your loving strokes anytime you sit down. Our fur babies are always available and willing to listen to our problems and absorb the stress if their human will share it.
Bless
Yes the queen is something to contend with. I will be wearing a tiara to the tea on Monday. Better not see her there in hers!
They are having a special luncheon for mom's and a grand opening of the lower level that was just remodeled.
~~~~~~~~~
Taking it easy today:

ETE and routines
Fix meds for the week for Gypsy and myself (vitamins mostly)
Laundry/Decided to postpone that to tomorrow, after luncheon date!

Church
Out to dinner

Suzy, thank you! How are you coming along with your surgeries? Are you pain-free now?

Diana: Sounds like a lovely get-together for tea. Don't worry, you won't have any competition from the queen. She's otherwise engaged on Monday afternoon. wink laugh

JDIs for today:

- Take DD to gymnastics
- Put gas to the car
- Dishes
- laundry
- clean house - STARTED
- paperwork

Ms. Molly looks totally adorable.

I agree with all the lovely comments about Bless.

Didn't get around to posting yesterday. I'm running on 3 cylinders! Too ashamed to admit that I'm not getting a lot done, but I guess it will be done eventually. I couldn't even be bothered to go into town and look for a video this afternoon, but I did get two loads of laundry on the line this morning.

DH got home safely at nearly midnight on Thursday, nice to have him around. We went for a bike ride this afternoon. I had taken my laundry in off the line beforehand and I was so glad I did, since it was dry, because it started to rain just as we were almost home.

Good thinking Bushlady. Hey, all work and no play makes you a dull lady! Glad DH is home safely and you are enjoying having him around, and bike riding.

~~~~~~~~~
Got my list done. Decided the laundry can wait as I wasn't sure whether or not the kids were stopping back here, and didn't want
things around. So tomorrow I will do the laundry.
Bushlady, thank you. smile Don't worry about not getting as much done as you would like. Just focus on what you do get done! That's what I keep telling myself. I tend to make long lists, thinking I can get it all done, but get only half the list done, in general.
Today, I took DD to gymnastics, did some weeding, did the dishes, did 5 loads of laundry including my bedding, remade my bed, started cleaning my bedroom including tidying several dresser drawers, sewed another block on my quilt (Grandmother's flower garden pattern), cooked dinner, wrote to a friend, and took a nap! But didn't put gas to the car (there was a long line at the gas station!), didn't clean the rest of the house, didn't do the paperwork, didn't bake my zucchini bread...
I've had a very busy weekend with the yard sale and all. I'm happy that I got rid of a lot of stuff and made a reasonable amount of $$ at the same time. At the end of the day I was fortunate to be able to have a second hand furniture dealer check out what was left and buy the things she was interested in. I still have stuff left to deal with today and tomorrow.
In the afternoon, DS and I took the lawn mower over there and cut the grass. He pushed the mower and I played with the edger. Other than more edge trimming, this will be the last time we are responsible for cutting the grass there! The new owners will be taking possession before that is needed again.
For today -
- church this morning
- lunch at church (the men are cooking)
- sort stuff at Mom's place - toss, donate and temporarily keep
- check on dump hours
- bring the "temporary keep" stuff over here
- start the final clean up at Mom's place - dust walls and vacuum as each room is emptied.
- d/w - empty, refill and run if needed
- hand wash some dishes (my house)
Diana, admit it - you are a social diva! laugh
Darlene: You did a lot and you still have a busy day ahead!
Late last night, after I posted here, I did a couple of baby steps in the kitchen, and scrubbed the stove top (under the burners, etc.) and the vent hood. Also, wiped the counters.
JDIs for today:
- More laundry (did 1 load already, waiting for DD to wake up to do her bedding!)
- Cook a chicken curry
- Finish cleaning my bedroom (tidy/dust dressing table top, clear/dust desk top, dust bedside table, dust book shelves, dust window sill, sweep/vacuum)
- Wash the lower cabinet fronts in the kitchen
- Tidy/reorganize the tall cabinet in the kitchen
- Clean both bathrooms
- Tidy family room/sweep or vacuum floor
- Go out for Mother's Day lunch with DD
- Bake?
Some of this might get carried over to tomorrow (I have the day off from work). But I want to get as much of it done today, as I can. Tomorrow has it's own agenda! laugh
How did you know that they called me DIVA at the center Bless?
Honestly, I have a pin that says DIVA too. I try. LOL
Had a lovely luncheon with my friend and her church lady friends.
Very nice. Hope to do it again sometime. Brought homefood for tonight's dinner. Love that, but if I eat out too much it catches up with me.
Before I left another load of laundry was completed, but I turned off the dryer and have now continued on the laundry. Don't have to feed the grandpuppies tonight, so I am home now,
Been embroidering on some more placemats.
Hope you soon feel better, Tina.
We had such a good meal out yesterday for Mother's Day, at the local sports bar. It was a casual relaxed environment and their special was great!
DH and the neighbour were chipping brush piles in our yard this morning and I dusted and vacuumed downstairs and steam mopped the vinyl floors. A friend dropped in during the afternoon and we dug up some chives and thyme for her to take home.
DH and I wandered in the back of our yard after supper, and afterwards I watered a lot of bulbs and the rhubarb beds. Now he is snoozing in the chair and I am realizing that I am too tired to do the ironing, which is now in a large enough pile to motivate me to do something with it! Well, Scarlett, tomorrow is another day.
LOL Bushlady. Sounds like Scarlet needed to wait another day with all the work she had already completed!
Going to close this up and start another thread, we are doing so much!
Update from yesterday -
1. finish cleaning out Mom's place (both car and van will be used)
- get a few empty boxes for the donations
- pack up the things Mom would like me to keep for her; load into the car
- load the papers to be recycled and the trash into the van for taking to the dump
- load the van with the donations
- vacuum carpets
2. Cut lawn at my house (DS's task)
3. go to Ladies' Bible Study (me)
4. Pick up some puppy training aids
For today now -
1. Finalize transfer of Mom's former home (possession officially changes hands at noon today)
- go to thrift shop with car (10 am) to drop off donations
- go to Mom's place with car to get a 'borrowed item' that needs to be returned
- leave our door keys inside the place
- van to the dump to get rid of the trash (after 12 noon)
- pick up the last of the trash at Mom's (left outside and/or in the garden shed)
2. Start the process of cleaning up my house. The simple explanation is that I have TOO MUCH STUFF! I saved quite a bit of stuff from Mom's place. After I am totally finished with her place, it's time for me to start on my place. Baby steps will serve the purpose!
3. Puppy training (ongoing)
4. other tasks?
