Yesterday, I worried myself to frazzles about the upcoming storm today, we are expecting almost 3 inches of rain. I am concerned mom's basement is going to get water under the garage door, so had to go over there and rake a ton of leaves and clear the drain outside the door. Went to a pool supply store and bought a water bag, (the kind that holds the pool cover in place) and filled it and put in in front of the door hoping to stop any overflow if the drain clogs. And, don't you know the seam was defective and ripped so only one tube filled with water UGGH. (We just paid over $1500 for mold remediation at mom's, can't get water in there!)
Came home and decided to take a break, sat on the deck and tossed two bags of recipes, they are getting out of control again. Made a "french" potato salad for dinner and some stuffed mushrooms with leftover mushrooms in the fridge. Laura made BBQ'd chicken and brought some over. Finn rolled in the yard again and was totally brown, he looked hysterical, so had to give him a good brushing.
Today I am going to bring the wet vac over to mom's just in case. I also will start gathering the items we used to "stage" the house and make a pile to give back to DSIL. If I can get some heavy boxes I'll start packing some items to go to the storage locker. It's going to be a crazy week here, I am stressing out already just thinking about it!!
Laura and I sat outside last night and she told me they are looking for a new apartment. I'll be lost without her, but she is looking in town so we won't be too far apart.

Congratulations Waterlady on 8 years, sure went quickly! We are glad to have your help, ideas and friendship also.
I know it is a wonderful feeling to not have a mess, and can have people drop by without being embarrassed or not let them in! A huge WHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO and a happy dance for all your hard work not only in your own house, but your mom's also.
Wendy: Happy dancing with you over the sales! That is an awesome amount of profit! Never made that much myself! Enjoy the extra funds and hope you got to bed early.

Waterlady: Congrats on 8 years!!! As well as on all the progress you've made!
I didn't get to sleep early last night. My body was pretty achy. Today I did take a 2 1/2 hour nap this afternoon. I really needed it! Still feel pretty worn out. Think all that's going on is really taking a toll. I really need a break!
Not sure how things will be tomorrow. Hopefully the computer will be done. But I should be able to get my hair done! YIPEE! (Still not sure what I'm having done!) Then DD#2 has a dance practice to get ready for the musical.
If you don't mind, keep praying. The musical is only a week from this Thursday. Lots to do before then!
Cya!

Yesterday was talking with DGF and we came up with yet another solution for the garage door at mom's.
Went to the hardware store and then DGF and I (in the rain) tacked up some flexible trim to the bottom of the door. The door bottom is now 99% sealed, I'll go check it this morning.
Then I took her out for a cup of coffee, her husband has been pretty sick since his open heart surgery and she is really stressed out.
I did get some boxes for packing at mom's, but didn't do it. Looked for an interesting recipe for dinner, then decided to have leftovers. Took a shower early afternoon and washed my hair, got into some comfy clothes.
Although the woman said she is coming today to pick up the bedroom set, I haven't heard from her at all. I'm going to get stuck moving it to the storage locker for the time being.

WL How frustrating, but hope the woman did show up for the bedroom set. Hope the garage door solution worked!
Purdy: That is strange that the postman or your neighbors didn't tell you about the cards for the packages. Glad they held them for you, and your postman brought them. Nice guy!

WooooooHoooooo WL, you've accomplished so much coping and overcoming a litany of problems and challenges that life has thrown. Good on you, you deserve compliments.
I too, thank the brilliant GONers who offer solutions for problems or frustrations without being negative. Can't tell you how many times I've thought..."why didn't I think of that!' I've learned so many good habits like ETE, eat an elephant one bite at a time, use a timer and give rewards.

Happy goner bday Waterlady! Going back to work tomorrow, not quite done with my 'vacation time to-do list' but it will do. I met with friends 3 times so I'm happy! Thursday, Friday and Saturday! I also went and had breakfast with DM on Saturday and then got a haircut. DM gave me her accountant's number, I decided not to mess with my taxes and have it done right. Finally a decision! DD came over yesterday, she had to bake a cake for her class tomorrow evening, it's in the freezer. While she was in the kitchen I took the opportunity to finish up with laundry and PUPA. Then we chatted for an hour and I watched a movie when she left. Today I slept in, had breakfast, worked on sorting my papers and then went shopping. I got a new mop and did the floors upon my return; I threw away the two other ones I didn't like using. I bought skin foundation, Q-tips, toothbrushes and a make-up bag for DD. There were cans of tomatoes on sale for 1$; I took 4. Found two small plants and a bigger pot for a plant at home, filters for my fish tank, cat food, some fabric and a shredder. Love wall mart, got all I wanted at the same store the only splurge item was a note book with a cute image on it; it will be used when I start school and have all these notes I will be referencing later, might as well be cute and sturdy. I took the cat to the vet, she is getting neutered, I hate leaving her but it was getting too much to handle. Then to the bank and home. Went for a short walk with DGF while her kids where at diving practice, boy was it windy. Had lentils soup with crackers and cheese. Did the dishes, repotted the plants and re-arranged them in the living room. Watched tv and now I'm getting ready for bed. I guess I'd say it was a fun and productive vacation!

Looks like a productive day or two for all of you....great job!
Waterlady, congratulations on 8 years! That's so awesome! it's hard to believe I've been here as long as I have too....so much learned from everyone, and like you, friends made. It's a good thing!
Purdy, sounds like you got lots done....sounds like a little bit of a hassle with the packages....good idea to take it easy when the back is acting up.
Wendy, you've been busy, not surprised you were tired. Good job taking the nap and listening to your body. Will keep all in prayer.
Bubblegum, phew...I think you accomplished a lot in your time off. I think you could say it was definitely a productive vacation!
Had a very busy day today.....got laundry done, all of it washed, dried, folded, and put away or hung up in the closet. Also got the oven wiped out and cleaned up a bit after leaving a dish of ammonia in it overnight...now at least it won't set off the smoke detectors when I run the clean cycle! Also got kitchen counters and sink cleaned up and got some sewing done. Went to a Bible study at noon, then later in the afternoon dh and dgd and I all worked outside in the yard a bit. Lots and lots done....
Back to work tomorrow and then will do some vacuuming and mopping tomorrow after work. Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!

Waterlady - Congratulations on all you have accomplished and for inspiring us all too. Wendy - Praying everything goes well for you this week and you get a well deserved rest afterwards. Purdy - What a surprise to get so many packages thank goodness for your regular postman Bubblegum - Glad to see you managed to have some fun as well as accomplishing a lot. Bonnie like you I have been busy with laundry and cleaning in the kitchen. I also had a full day at school yesterday, then spoke on the phone to my granddad, aunt, cousin, brother in law and three girlfriends. It was nice to be so popular Today the sun is shining, so I want to get in the garden this afternoon when I get back from meeting the girls for our weekly cup of tea and catch up. I also have to make a decision about DS's choice of school soon. He did not get into my first choice, but the one he did get in is across the road from us. Sometimes ignorance is bliss I have been reading the inspection reports for various schools and my head is spinning trying to decide which one is the right one for my son. When I was a child you just went to the nearest school and that was that. No stress for mum then, but at the moment I am feeling so anxious about this so prayers would be very much appreciated.
