Thanks Waterlady. I have to wait until the end of May now to see if my appeal for a place at my first choice is upheld. I highly doubt it, so I have made up my mind to go to the local school if it doesn't. It is across the road and the first year has a good grading, so I will take a "wait and see" approach if we do end up there. Like I have said it is improving so should be ok and it is on the doorstep so no travelling.

Well I have done some laundry, some ironing, been to college and started my next asssignment.

This evening I began a special project for my granddad. Not sure if you all remember a few months back when I was collecting all his photographs and putting them in date order (it had never been done and there were 50 years worth), well I have now started to put them in albums.

It has been a mammoth task to sort them and I spent a lot of time quizzing people to try and jog their memories in order to date them, but it is nearly done smile

Karen, my sister and I did that for my mom, it took us two weekends.

The radon guy came and finished. The guy came and picked up the saw. I got some more stuff emptied from the garage shelves, and dragged a cabinet into the driveway for Tuesday's pickup. Took home a pair of lamps that DSIL had brought up, they look nice in my bedroom. Trying to take something back each time I go over. (Our staging stuff). Later, brought back a small table.

Still have no work, so will probably go to mom's again today. Have more things for the shelter and today they take stuff, may take a ride there. Unfortunately, I have my eye on a red leather small couch and chair that would look lovely on my porch. It's the perfect scale for that room. I'm thinking about making them an offer and see if they take it.

Purdy, you are always so busy, even your "rest days" sound busy!

Karen, sounds like a good plan b approach to the schooling. What a nice thing to do for your granddad!

Waterlady, you've been working a lot on your Mom's house....what will you do with yourself when you don't have to anymore? Bet it will be a relief for awhile...then, we'll need to help you find work! Maybe you could turn your experience into a part time job - staging houses for sale!

Diana, hope the computer problems are fixed now....they are such a hassle and such a convenience aren't they!

Have been up since four this morning...awake since 2...ugh...gonna be a long day. I think the steroids the doctor has me on are what's interfering with my sleep...will be glad when they aren't anymore! Took advantage of the time to get my devotions done this morning and got a little puttering done. Nice feeling to have it done so early, but I wouldn't want to make a habit of it! lol

Have a wonderful day all!

Bonnie, I find Costco is a lot less draining now that I only have a two bedroom apartment! I don’t have room to store 48 toilet paper rolls or 12 cans of tomatoes!

Diana, can so relate to the ‘collapse’ comment!

Karen, sometimes we lose sight of what is important, the 'right' or 'best' decision is hard when we tend to want perfection! I'm sure being close to home will have great benefits for the entire family and I have no doubts you will be up to the challenge of helping DS and the school in this process! How very nice of you to do the albums! Scrapbooking has been on my list of to-do's since I got on the forum!! One day...

Purdy, shopping is always and adventure for me as well!

Waterlady, maybe you not getting any work is a blessing in disguise; you have lots of free time to work on DM's house? I do hope it comes back to normal soon though; I find being able to afford eating is always nice!

Wendy, it will turn out great, no one is expecting academy award performances! Who can find fault when kids do their best! I’ve always found it very moving. I often come out with one bag!

This has been a long week for me, too much stuff on my mind and having to be at work at 6:30 made for very short sleeping hours. DD came every evening with some project so no napping time, whew, so thankful for today I can rest! I went out with colleagues yesterday, a farewell as one lady is leaving. Restaurant and clubbing in Montreal afterwards. Does dancing for 3 hours count as exercise?? She has been accepted to have her own residence and clients, a four year process. She will be missed dearly.

Cat is healing nicely, no reaction to the meds so that is comforting. The vet said possible vomiting or diarrhea! She dislikes going there so much she had been sitting in the corner of her cage not eating for two days frown she peed in the carrier cage while riding in the car and ran across the apartment when I got home! ARGH! Needless to say I mopped the floors and bathe her...

Took care of chores this morning for about an hour, done with cleaning for today. I finished mending clothes from kids at work and can put away the sewing machine and ironing board. Should take care of groceries today because I'll be working for 6 days starting tomorrow. I need to contact a friend, she's 26, an only child and her divorced mother is now battling cancer again. She herself, no bf, is recovering from an injury at work and feeling overwhelmed to say the least. We had talked about having an outdoors spa day but since snowflakes are flying around we’ll have to change our initial plan!

OMG! Almost forgot to take care of tax papers! I’m off!

Diana and Bonnie - Thanks I find it very hard to relax, there's always something that needs to be done.

Bubblegum - I do like a little adventure about once a month but its been way to horid here weather wise to do anything.

Today I totally blitzed the front room. It took me 50 minutes with a 5 minute break half way through to just tidy it, thats without vaccuming and dusting, I've still got to do that. It will have to wait as my back has started to ache.

The shopping came on time so I've put that away and ordered next weeks.

Yes, everybody, what will I do when this house sells? LOL! It's been years of going there every day when mom was alive, and she's been gone almost three years and I'm still there every day checking it, etc.

DSIL was supposed to come today and stay overnight to help me finish up, but her dog needed emergency surgery. I wouldn't dream of asking her to come under the circumstances, her dog has had so many close calls, and she always pulls through like a trooper, hope this time she does also, it is a big surgery.

Yesterday I packed and took two more boxes to the shelter, the red couch and chair is still there, ummm. It's calling my name if you know what I mean. LOL I just can't justify $200 (I know, real cheap for leather) when I haven't had work in the last few weeks.

Packed up a box of papers of mine that I found at mom's. It was so windy and I had the garage door open, I decided to quit and come home.

I put my energy into my house. Vacuumed the LR and the couches, put the clean covers back on. Continued vacuuming the rest of the house. Washed the LR and Kitchen floors, put all the dishes away, and cleared the papers off my kitchen counter. Dusted and polished the furniture. I woke up to a nice clean house this morning.

So my plan is today to move the things to the storage locker that are leftover. Nothing is too heavy to handle (I don't think!) I've got to get the garage floor vacuumed, the rain that previously got under the door carried fine silt with it, it's a gritty mess. Then, I'll have an empty house and I can just give it a light cleaning over and I AM DONE.

Wow, did I really say that??? LOL!

Waterlady:
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU DID IT!!!!
Personally I think with all the work you did in both houses, an staging, you deserve the red leather couch and chair as a reward.
IMHO!

Just wanted to comment before I leave.

Had a great uplifting weekend! DH and I attended a homeschool convention. Wonderful speakers who shared their experiences and their hearts. Good stuff!! Plus DH and I got to share lunch together, twice!!

Today our homeschool co-op put on a Thank You Worship service at the church where we have co-op. Good time! So neat to see all the students who've grown and have such talent!!

This Tuesday is the last all day practice and Thursday is the performance!! Where has the time gone??!! I should be flipping out because the kids don't know the songs as well, my computer is down AGAIN and I haven't created the program yet...but you know what, I'm not!!! I know it's a God-thing. Knowing I don't have to be in charge next year, seems to have given me permission to let it go. (I know, I should feel that way regardless!) If things go well, Praise God! If things don't go well, Praise God! This is His musical, not mine. The kids are responsible to know the words, I've been faithful in teaching them what I can. I'll do what I can, but in the end, it's out of my hands. (That sounds so freeing to me!)

Tomorrow we'll be picking up the risers, getting groceries, checking on the computer, finding some way to create the program, and just mentally getting prepared for the all day practice. I know schooling will get done in there too.

I'll let you know how it all goes!! Cya!

Great productivity as always ladies!. Karen, the school that my daughter was at was just the same - reception year came out slightly ahead of average standards, but seemed to fall back in the first year. Good luck with the appeal, it's so stressful. Purdy, the weather is still dodgy so you can postpone your adventure until a better day.

I am feeling better now, still felt a bit ropey on Fri/Sat. I have sorted out the paperwork that was around the living room/lounge (surprised how much there was!) and queued up in the post office for my car tax. Remind me when I am older not to complain about queues! There was an elderly couple in front complaining about the wait, despite the staff doing their best!

Just tried to order something online with a gift card but the card didn't work, so cancelled that one. And paid another bill online (thank heavens for the internet!). Bit more tidying before collecting DD from school.

Have a good day!

Hi everyone I have been MIA for a few days the sun came out twice so that was it I was out of the house. After quite a few days of almost continuous rain I needed to get out and so did DS.

Thank you all for your comment re DS's schooling and my granddad's photo albums.

With regards to schooling now I have made the decision what to do I am much calmer like Bubblegum says we sometimes lose sight of what is important in our search for perfection. Us living so close to his schools is definitely a huge positive.

I have filled the two albums granddad had bought for the photos, and I am now awaiting some more from him. I have really enjoyed the project, but at times when I was trying to date the pictures I could of cheerfully strangled him and my nan. They visited the same places several times, and faithfully wrote on the backs of the packets the name of the church or building they were visiting but no date. I got it done though, and some may be slightly out of sequence, but it is in a whole better order than packets of photos scattered around their house. I just hope granddad does not find any more photos hidden away crazy

Productivity here has just been the usual dailies and some tossing out of the kitchen cupboards and closets. You have all been busy as usual smile

Wendy - So pleased you are not feeling the pressure this time.

Waterlady - I agree with Diana you definitely deserve a reward if you can get the couch and chair.

Bubblegum - Busy as usual I am glad the cat is doing well.

Vanilla - Glad you are feeling better

Purdy - I hope the weather improves so you can go on your mini adventure.

I am going to catch up on the other threads then see what I can get done. Catch you all later!
