I had a nice long post about how DF was going to get rid of DM Monday night. Of course Tuesday he hadn't even realized he had said it. He's starting to fade and DM refuses to tell the dr. Plus they do plan on moving home. Oh well....nothing I can do but pray.

Anyway I worked in the yard. Mowed the grass and cut some limbs. I really have to get my chain saws working. I have more that needs trimmed.

Still testing but I got two new cook books so I'll read them. One is The Pioneer Women Cookbook. Sure hope it's worth it. Of course I didn't pay full price.

spent the day at home yesterday finishing up on getting the new computer set up. The one good thing about the issues with the network was that I pulled out the technology binder(2 actually), the one that has all the manuals for the electronics, and went through it. I can happily report that all the old stuff is tossed and/or shredded, and the new manuals that I had not yet filed are now nicely put away as well.

Still working to put rest of office together from the disaster I created on Sunday. Working today and off tomorrow so it will definitely get back in order by the end of the day.

Did manage 20 minutes outside with the round up on some more weeds, and a quick sweep of the open areas of the garage as well. Also, SO spent more time in the garage this weekend while I worked and managed to fill 2 cans with junk he deemed as trash....color me happy on that one. He said he is no where near finished out there and I gave him my blessings on the motivation!

Mary, my DH passed away 2 weeks ago - cause of death remains unknown. His death was unexpected. We knew he had MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and a lot of arthritis - none of which should have been life threatening at this time. Eventually, I expect to learn what the cause of his death was. In the meantime, I'm starting the process of rebuilding my life as a formerly married person.

ROTM progress report -

The bed and other moveable furniture has been removed ready for the carpet cleaners this afternoon. My living room is an even bigger mess now with the bedroom furniture stashed in there! Oh well, it's temporary.

The walls are patched and paint ready. I'm satisfied with my repair job. After the carpet cleaners are done, I'll take a paint brush and put primer on the patched spots.

I have decided on my paint color - it's called "Squash Blossom" - a light brown tone. Tomorrow (or later today) I'll go purchase the wall paint.

I want to get this project done as quickly as possible. Until it is finished, I won't have a real bed. My plan is to blow up an airmattress to sleep on. Unless the carpet cleaners leave the carpet wet today, I expect to be able to use the room.

Darlene: Good to see that you are doing your room. Yes, there will be a bit of a mess while it is in progress, but the mess will be temporary and the end results will be so worth it. I know that being busy helps, but do take care of yourself, too, and don't overdo things. (((HUGS)))

Darlene I am so sorry. Any support you need let us know. They helped me through my husband's death 5 years ago.

Well the saga of the heat/air...I came home and they were there. There was wire coming out of the wall for thermostat and people under house. Then I heard some banging-then cussing-then banging-cussing-..I went to the other part of the house. About five hours latter they came out. Working on the concert and has about killed them. They were sorry it's taken so long but they can only work for so long. They are pretty sure they will be finished today. They are so tired of being under my house.

Oh the cussing wasn't loud...kinda made me feel married again. IT did scare me in the sense that I hope they don't up my bill.

Hopefully I'm spending this evening cleaning up from the work men. I am taking a load of donations to the church at 6 for the youth's garage sale. Now if I could get DD to take her stuff to the cabin.

I haven't gotten to the guest room so I may save that for summer. But I just got an idea for a solution to my chest of drawer problem.

Thanks Cindy. I know that you know what I am and will be going through. Knowing you have made it through the transition is a great encouragement to me.

ROTM progress - carpet is cleaned. The primary stain has been eliminated. YAY!
- wall paint has been purchased

Next step - wipe dust off walls, paint primer over the patches, let primer dry

Darlene, please accept my condolences as well. I did not see your other post. It can and will be a trying time in the weeks and months ahead, but know you are in all our thoughts and prayers. And do make sure to not push too hard right now, even though from personal experience I know that pushing can be cathartic.

I am concentrating on the class, the tax issues and slowly putting things away. Had to dig through 2 years of papers to find additional info for tax/401k stuff. Seems people change job titles fairly often at headquarters offices so thank goodness I keep all the written documentation. Now to just get them to do what they said they would do....tired of the dragging on but irs should be done in the next month if all goes well then will start with the state. And.....as I am slowly resolving some of these things, more piles are disappearing too. Also working with SO and have set up a box on the dining table for him to "drop" his mail into when done since he just can't seem to get back to the office to put away!

On restrictions at work for 2 more weeks but have been upgraded to 15 lbswhich means still at the door. I am concerned as strength in left hand is fifty per cent of right hand, but dr said its the last thing to come back, and of course workmans comp is pushing them to send me back to work asap. Was told it could take 6 to 12 months for full return of strength and pain and stiffness to go away. If the job wasn't involving so much lifting, I wouldn't be leary, just have to wait and see

We are still in testing. At least I really like today's movie. Also got some grades in. I am going to start on my cabinets.

I do have heat/air now. They even did some cleaning up. They didn't take the old unit out which they were suppose to do so I may have to call about that. Of course in a way I'm not looking forward to a wall in my wall. It's a good thing because it's turning warm close to hot.

I forgot to take my stuff to the church to donate. I was so mad when I remember. Hopefully there will be someone there tonight and I can do it.

I am making my list of 'to dos' for this weekend. I'm really looking forward to working in the yard and getting things out.

How do we know what room we are suppose to work on?
