Bubblegum: Good update. Sorry about the difficulty in seeing a doctor. Hate that!
Karen: Don't blush!
Bushlady: Sounds like you have a plan, but also need to enjoy the time .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will be gathering up my items to pack for my mini vacation this next weekend. Just 4 days but that is more than enough for me.
Been a busy little bee around here this week. Started back to work after my wonderful Spring Break. Did some makeup testing with 3 of my students and I still have one that has yet to show up. The first week she had strep throat and now she's hurt her knee and awaiting surgery. Hmmmm....I don't really like to say that someone isn't telling the truth, but the same sort of thing happened last year with the same student and every time we were supposed to meet this year some kind of family emergency prevented them from meeting. Just gotta wonder how many of these things can happen to one family.
I finished making the curtain for the laundry area, and I must say that I absolutely LOVE it. I used two dropcloths and then took some black/white gingham and ripped it and tied it in knots along the top. It sounds hideous now that I see it in words. I'll have to remember to take a picture of it tomorrow when it's light so you can see.
I decoupaged all of the plastic drawers for DD's room (all 18 of them). She choose different fabrics that coordinate with her comforter, and it's just so colorful and cheery. And, by covering the clear drawers, it hides all of the stuff inside. Bonus!
All of the pots are painted and just about an hour ago, I finished planting the last flower. So pretty! It's beginning to feel more and more like home.
I started working on the T-shirt quilt using R's old shirts. I'm just about finished with cutting all of the shirts apart. The next step after that will be figuring out the placement of each one.
And, tomorrow, if all goes as planned, we will finally be having the TV guy here to hook up the dish. It's been two months without TV, and I must say that it has been very nice actually. But....I'm on a two year contract with them which still has another year to go. It will cost more to cancel the contract than to keep it. I figure I'm paying for it anyway, I might as well be watching it.
Today, DD and I went and got our hair cut short. It feels SO good. DD grows her hair and donates it to Locks of Love. This is the third time she has done it. My hair is just too damaged to donate, but I told her that I would cut mine short this time with her.
PS..DD had a GREAT time at the formal. She loved her dress and her tennis shoes and her hair. And, she just had a wonderful time hanging out with her friends.
Bushlady - Thanks! I put it on the list to remind me to make them the priority. Life gets so busy it is easy to become distracted and not give them especially DH the attention they deserve. Diana - A mini vacation sounds lovely enjoy! Tina - Good luck with the organizing Carol - You have been busy making the apartment your home. I am glad your DD had a good time at the formal. Pottering around this weekend. I have just sorted through some kitchen drawers and tossed some items. I will continue to reduce or organize the little piles of stuff dotted around the house
Wow Carol You and DD made good use of the spring break! I pictured your drape/divider. Sounded cute, but would love to see that and the drawers you decopaged.
Karen: I am going to putter around too this weekend. Have items to put away downstairs and work in the craft room. AGAIN! LOL
Alrighty...You asked for pictures and here you go: (I think if you click on the picture it will get bigger for you - If I did everything right.) #1 - The curtains covering the laundry area. They are actually halfway open in this picture so sorry for the ugliness BEHIND the curtain, but you can get the general idea of what they look like.  #2 - The decoupaged drawers in DD's room.  #3 - Just a few of the painted pots. We have many more painted the same way with flowers planted in them near the front door and the patio area.
Such artistic talent, Carol! You really know how to personalize a home. The drape works so well, I would never have thought of prettying it up like that.
