I think this is my favorite week, as I usually find something to do that I haven't planned...I might put the winter clothes away in the hall closet for the year, and the boots, hats, etc.
That sort of odds and ends is what I prefer to do when this branch comes around.

What do you usually plan if anything? Looking forward to hearing your answers for ideas!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Starting this on Friday for people who want to work on the branches over the weekend. Think of your home as a tree and each room is a branch of that tree.
First, break the house up into branches (manageable areas), which can be DEEP cleaned in a week's time.
For each branch, compile a list of all the tasks you'll need to do to get that room to SPARKLE! This includes cleaning, dusting and vacuuming the areas behind and under furniture, washing windows and curtains, etc.
Also, put together a Weekly Cleaning List to keep things looking good. Each week, finish your Weekly Cleaning THEN focus on doing some deep cleaning in this week's branch.
Cycle through the branches, one per week, to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the house.
Here's the schedule of Branches we'll be following:
Week 1: Entry/Living Room
Week 2: Dining Room/Laundry Room
Week 3: Bathrooms/Front Porch
Week 4: Kitchen/Back Porch
Week 5: Children’s Room/Guest Room + Closets for those rooms
Week 6: Family Room/Room of choice
Week 7: Master Bedroom/Master Closet
Week 8: All House Cleaning
Some sample "Choice" Rooms:
Office, Pantry, Craft Room, Garage, Attic, etc.
Make your master and individual branch lists work for YOU. The lists we share here are just our own examples; yours should be designed to suit your own home and situation.
If the branch you're working on needs decluttering, focus on that first. It's much easier to clean a room that doesn't have piles and boxes everywhere. Even if the whole house needs decluttering, this is a good way to focus on a room at a time on a regular schedule.
This isn't a competition. Just go at your own pace, as that will be exactly right for you. We are all here to support and encourage one another.
Start with a new branch each week. If you don't finish all the tasks on your branch list for the week, that's OK--you're already ahead of where you were before, and the unfinished tasks will still be there for you when you cycle back to this branch. If you finish early one week, you can go back to work on previous branches.
Good luck.
dust light fixtures
wash last window in second bedroom
wash floors
vacuum rugs
install slide guides for closet bifold doors
At least that's the plan.
Got the front hall closet cleared of winter items, and even tossed a box with the cuisinart part in it! There was a towel I need to bring back to the vet on Friday when I take Gypsy in for her shots. Returned a few things on Easter Sunday that were left at the house at Christmas! Not empty but looking much emptier and cleaner.
I'm going to work on the guest bedroom. It was DD's room and now it's more the catch all room and gds's room. Part of the problem is it's storing a bunch from DD house because she doesn't have the room. Also it has stuff left from when she was in hs.
First thing I'm going to do is go through the closet and and work from there. I might just move some of the things to the attic to give me more room. Also I have decided I am going to have a sale.
I agree with you if you have the room in the attic, I say put all those items from DD up there. Maybe they could even help you put them up there.
Hope you are all safe. Just heard about the tornados in OK!
My goodness that was sad to hear so many people passed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Got the decorations down, and laundry done. Been ETEing all day,as I went thru my day. Also straightened out the craft room. Would really like to get some different storage
in there other than the dresser. More shelving,etc.
Will think about it.

Lots of little jobs to focus on this week:

*Oil hinges on living room door
*Tidy the under the stairs cupboard
*Rearrange the space where all my ebay items were stored (many have sold so there is more room smile )
*Wash down front door ready for painting
*Clean the outside panes of the living room windows
*Clean the outside panes of the hall window

That is it for now

Diana the tornado were on the other side of the state from us. We were worried we might get some but luckily we didn't. I talked to friends and family in Norman and they are fine. Just scared.

I finished two more outdoor pillows. I also made cupcakes for school. We are testing and I have the same kids all day. Luckily today I like the kids. There's one day I don't.

Today the heating/air guys are starting. I'm stressed not being able to be there. I have no idea about their placement of vents. Of course I know they do want they want not what I'd want.
