@Carol- too bad we don't live closer. I have an extra rod. I painted the guest bath and replaced the shower curtain. Decided not to hang a valance above the shower curtain so I will put the extra rod in the basement.

Carol: You might try getting a set of those holders they use for closet rods to hold your curtain rod. The closet rod holders are fairly inexpensive (a couple of dollars, I believe). Provided your curtain rods stays extended even with a broken spring, it should work.

Or, if you are looking for an alternate curtain rod - I've seen pictures in magazines where a branch from a tree had been used as a drapery rod. wink

I am here to report progress on my goals!

I've completed the file taxes goal!

So that makes it 2 goals completed so far: taxes and car service!

I also did a baby step on the jury duty goal - I called in to see if I need to report for service tomorrow (Monday), and I don't have to go in tomorrow. I do, however, have to call in again, tomorrow night, to see if I need to go in on Tues.

Since I got the tax goal completed, I'll add a new goal to my list: Getting caught up on paperwork/filing!

Thanks for all of the suggestions on my curtain rod problem. Frugal...If you throw real hard in a westerly direction, I'll try to catch it! wink

I sorted through all of the curriculum yesterday and got it all boxed up and labeled and the "table" is awaiting it's tablecloth. However, I may have changed my mind. I might move it into the living room and put it in front of that slider instead. I will wait until DD gets home from her father's to see what she thinks. I ended up with 43 books to donate. And, these aren't lightweight books. We're talking heavy textbooks. I will be so glad to not have to move them again. It's bad enough that I still have 13 Banker's boxes full of them, and those I have to keep.

Today, I can't believe what I'm doing. Something not even on my list at all. We aren't having a family Easter dinner until about 5 tonight (DS is cooking at my parents' house) so I've brought in all of my plastic pots and cleaned them all up. I have sanded about half of them and put a primer coat on them. DD and I are going to paint them all colorful, and then later this week, I plan to plant flowers in them for our front walk/porch area. They were fine just the way they were, but I'm needed something whimsical and fun. A bit of a change from my usual classic style. A few of them I'm going to paint bright colors with white polka dots and then stack them to make a tiered planter. I'll let DD paint whatever she wants. She's VERY artistic and creative so who knows what she's going to come up with.

Sounds so cute! I agree, you are so talented and creative!
Wonder where DD gets it from!

Too bad you have to keep those books in the house. No family to spare a little basement space for now for them? Aren't you closer to them now, should you need them, they would be handier and out of your home....just a thought.

Mary:
Glad you were able to get so much completed.

Working on crafts for gifts. Almost finished with another beaded ornament kit and placemats and napkins. The placemats and two of the napkins are completd just one and one half more to go,and two more presents will be done.

When I get back into the ROTM, after I finish sorting items for the GS, in my ROTM I will starting boxing and tagging the gifts I have finished and put them in a special place for Christmas.

Funny thing about my parents' basement....They had a fire there a few years ago. What was left had to be taken out while the structure of the house was rebuilt. They put everything back in and it looked GREAT for about one month. You see, my dad is a bit of a packrat. No, he's the king, probably even has a crown to prove it. wink Anyway, they have a HUGE basement, but it is completely full of junk my dad's priceless treasures. There is not a spare square inch left for anything else. Upstairs in the house, it's the same way. They even have just a little walking path to get to the front door because he has so much stuff. He also owns a hardware store, the old fashioned kind of store where you never know what you are going to find on the shelves. It's the same way there, just little pathways through - no big aisles in that place. My DM says that if he dies first, she is arranging for those big huge dumpsters to be delivered to the house so that she can get rid of all of his "treasures". Yesterday, he was so proud to announce that he had thrown out 2 pair of old shoes. DM then said, "But, you still have 4 more sitting right there by the chair." wink

So, the books have to stay with me.
