Well I spent Thursday night and Friday day cleaning. OMG when I cleaned the living room light I almost died. It changed to another color! I spent today working at DF's garage and then came home and cooked. The kithcen isn't finished being cleaned but I'm finished. I'm going to go around the house doing more in the coming weeks. It also means I'm going to do some major decluttering too.

I'm gathering stuff for a friend to come give me a price on. I want stuff gone. My house is only so large. I want things simplier. It makes me crazy having so much stuff.

Anyway right now I'me exhasuted so I'm going to call it quits for the night.

Cindy

We are up to our eyeballs in paint this month. I started painting on Tues afternoon. We finished today. I was in a class for work on Weds but painted each day. Today DH painted over half the trey ceiling in the master bedroom. He taped off the wall/ceiling while I painted the guest bath. We are exhausted tonight.

DH is expanding his workshop in the basement. He is not quite ready for me to start painting the walls. I have to figure out how many new sheets I need for the soft walls of the workshop. Everything needs to be vacuumed. That might be a project for next Weds. We may need to move that project into May.

Paint Guest room
Hang bedding outside
Swap chest of drawers and bookshelf
Paint Guest bath
Donate old shower curtain- in donation bag
Wash shower curtain liner
Buy new shower curtain and hang
Declutter guest bath closet
Paint Master bath
Paint Master bedroom ceiling
Sew curtains for DHs workshops
Paint basement walls in workshop

Dianaro, too cute about the weeds. Personally I love my Round Up weed killer(weed be gone or whatever it is). Went to front beds and sprayed them down, knowing in a few days they will die. Then I will put a good layer of Preen down and a fresh batch of cedar mulch. Tulips are in bloom, day lilies, hostas, and the ground cover is all coming in nicely so not much work out front. Need to do the weed killer in the back yard too. The birds love eating thistle, then flying over and dropping the leftover on the lawn! It grows like a weed and is prickly so its gotta go.

With driving an hour each way Saturday and getting both of our taxes done, no progress in the house. Did stay in and picked up DB and had him over Sat for dinner(his birthdya was Sunday but he was with our sis for Easter). Sunday was making soup in am, and dinner with SO's family. Zone out weekend

Did see a couple of movies, The descendants with clooney, which was fabulous.....and the Girl with the dragon tattoo, also an awesome movie but weird and sometimes graphic....it was so involved that SO and I agree we want to see it again.

This week will be another dr visit for the hand, improving but not quite there yet. Will continue the tweaks in the office and working on the licensing. Hoping to get SO in the basement this week to do a bit of packing of things he no longer wants before his son is here for the weekend.

Glad you were able to not work, BL! You need to rest. Hoping your hand is better and the vsit to the dr. goes well.

Been taking items upstairs to sort for the GS this month.
Getting a nice supply. Have to bag and tag them next week, so want to finish that up. Makes for a neater ROTM also.

I did my taxes and filed them, this weekend! Yay!

I also put my files in order and got caught up with my filing! Double Yay! laugh

NOW, perhaps, I can get started on the rest of the office room! (I've felt like I really couldn't settle down to do rearranging/organizing, etc., as long as the taxes weren't done!)

I need to rethink how this room should be organized. It is not only my home office, it is also the crafts room and the guest room. Right now, it is serving as a storage room, as well! :p

Sometimes we need rooms such as yours. I agree getting the taxes and filing out of the way was important and you can babystep with the rest. Sounds like you have items contained in suitcases and dressers so that is good.

I decluttered the guest bath closet Monday. Brought the donations to the Thrift store today. Found a rug I had stored from another room and put it in the bathroom. I like how the bathroom turned out.

Yesterday DH and I moved his workbench out of the workshop. It was so heavy. I was pushing and he was pulling and thankfully it moved across the floor. I cleaned it by vacuuming everything on top and in the drawers. I will hole punch the tool books and get them in a binder at some point.

Tonight I painted in the basement for 2 1/2 hours. The waterproofing paint is very thick but it dries fast. I got one coat on half the area I need to paint. I am off tomorrow and plan to paint 5 hours. I am confident I can get it done. The next project is to put insulation in the floor joists to block dust from the workshop to the rest of the basement. Then I will be getting the soft walls (curtains made from sheets) ready to be hung. The curtains will take a day. I have enough flat sheets but may need to add fabric to the bottom depending on the length.

Thurs is garbage day and we will have an overflowing bin. They take anything you set out this week (except tires and appliances) so we are hauling several things to the curb. I figure it will take a good hour to get everything out there. Plus recycle goes out and we have a lot of paper and a large lawn bag of shredded paper. People will think we are moving. grin

Am quite impressed with all you are doing! Your shelves down in the basement looked so good, and now with the paint, etc., it is going to be fun to work down there I am sure. Those work benches are heavy. The one that was here when I purchased the house is in the same place, and I use it as my wrappin center.

Good luck with the trash. Glad when they do those special pickups

Very little progress made, but items are being removed from there for the GS, so babysteps work.

Frugal: Sounds like you are making great progress! A lot of work, though.

Well, I pulled some files out of one drawer, with the intention of going through them and deciding what to do (DM's files). But didn't get very far. Hm...I wonder if that was why I ended up spending most of the evening sitting in "her" chair, reading a magazine because I felt "tired". It never occured to me that there might be a connection, until just now! Oh, my! frown
