Well,we are thinking about traveling and going to see my parents this Easter, since I haven't seen them in almost 2 years (?-I can't remember). Anyways, I had a nice dinner planned which included roasted chicken (since ham is bad for hypertensiion), mashed potatoes (for our boys), potato salad, a 7 layer vegetarian salad (for me and my daughter), roasted carrots and asparagus or green beans, rolls, hummus filled deviled eggs, and desserts that consists of a chocolate pie (for the boys), and some banana pudding. Also for decorations, I was planning on decorating my kitchen table as cheaply as possible. I have bought some plates and bowls at a cheap discount store, and I bought a cross wreath craft kit that uses deco mesh to make and some faux flowers. It's going to be beautiful, but since we are traveling, I don't have room in our blazer to haul it all. So, we may have to post pone our family Easter dinner because we will be traveling back home on that day. I think it might not be a good idea to travel then, but oh well, I have to get back to school and so does my youngest son. And my oldest son has to get back to work. So we think going to see our relatives is more important than a dinner. It's okay to post pone some things. And some things are worth waiting for.

Where to start:
I agree, seeing family is much more important.

~~~~~~~~
DDIL contacted me about Easter. It is an easy meal to fix so told them to come here, we'll eat early and then they can go home and rest the rest of the evening. The other son will be with his ill MIL and their family.
Not a biggie. Been cooking holidays forever so one more isn't going to kill me.
So, I am not cooking for Easter! My DB called last night and invited all of us to his home for Easter dinner. I consulted DS and DDIL and we are switching over to his home. I will bring somehing when he gives me the menu.
Just finished making 18 Easter cards. Probably can save some for next year for gifts!
DS, DDIL and DGD are coming on Sunday, and I have booked a table for a buffet dinner, which they loved the last time we went. I won't have to cook, and it will be a belated celebration of our wedding anniversary, which was the other day when we were too busy with boiling sap to go out.
Diana, you must have been happy to get the invitation. It's easier to bring something than to host the event.
Mary, I googled Shoney's as we don't have them in Canada, or at least not in our neck of the woods. They look like great restaurants. Hope you have a super meal!
