From BlessMyMess to BlessIsAMess! frown

***Vent Warning***

I have not been this disorganized in years!

But, it seems that, since the carpet removing upheaval, I have been struggling to get myself back to being at least somewhat organized.

I am taking care of things on the surface, but some things that were pulled out to facilitate the carpet removal have yet to find permanent homes. As a result, things are stacked and piled, here and there, in temporary homes that are not suitable nor convenient. And I can't find things...

When it comes to organizing, I am hampered by a lack of time to attend to my own stuff. It seems I have all the time in the world for other people, but at the expense of attending to my own concerns! Somebody needs to get her priorities in order!

Like I said, Bless Is A Mess!

Hugs hun!

I think its definitely a matter of priorities and making you and your home a priority.

What are the areas that are bothering you the most?

I also want to mention that organizing is a cycle (comes and goes- as life and circumstances change over time).

Don't be too hard on yourself.

Bless is NOT a mess, Bless is just a busy, helpful, wonderful gal. Tinytina is right, organizing can be in cycles. If you have ever done any sort of big home improvement (like your flooring) it goes along with the territory, and when you are ready the solution and time will come to you. In the meantime, keep on keeping up; that is teriffic....BTW are you still coughing and ill. That also is a sign to overwhelm one when you aren't feeling up to par.

Got my filing done, and spiffed up two of the rooms, working my way across the house. Took care of some business this morning also.

Bless, we're all amazed by your schedule. Driving the freeway 3 hours daily + full time work + MOM + pet mom + adopted pet mom + shop + cook + laundry + household + extended family + active temple participant + neighbor + host visitors & DD's friends and so much more.

Perhaps as a result of the flooring refurbishment some things await your attention. It's okay. It will sort out, even if not as quickly as you desire. Is it ok to [lovingly] remind you that here at GON, we recommend baby steps to work on whatever it is that is frustrating you.

Oh Bless! (((Hugs))) You are not a mess. I'm right there with you, and if you're a mess, then I'm a mess, and I don't want to be considered a mess so.....like Diana said, "Bless is NOT a mess. Bless is BUSY!"

We have lived here for a month and a half, and we are still walking around boxes to get to things. I still haven't called to get the tv hooked up, and it turns out I never cancelled the trash pickup at the other house and their trying to charge me for it when I haven't even had anything there for them to pick up. I have yet to cook a complete meal here. I have no curtains up, no decorations on the walls, and guess what - it's OK. I feel horrible about it because I want to be settled, but it's OK. One woman can only do SO much.

It will all come together eventually! Take the 15 minute approach. I have been absolutely amazed and what I can accomplish in just 15 minutes time these past few weeks.

We all have times when we do better. Believe me, my house is far from perfect and I'm doing organizing for a living now. In fact, tomorrow is clean the house day.

Try and carve out some time this weekend and just tackle one small area. You'll feel better if you can see progress in a spot. Either choose something very easy to do or choose the thing that's the most important to you.

Ladies, thank you for all your kind words and helpful suggestions. I appreciate them all.

It is a bunch of small messes and uncompleted tasks that have accumulated over time, until now, I have several due dates looming and things are not in place! Several bills are due, TAXES are due, medical appointments are needed, and I can't plan anything because I have to be free to go on jury duty next week (but don't know for sure until I call in this weekend).

On top of that, someone managed to run up a bunch of unauthorized charges on one of my expired credit cards and I had to deal with that (still waiting for the paperwork to fill out claim forms, etc., for that.)

Yesterday, the adrenalin kicked in and, in a short period of time, I managed to hyperfocus and got a lot of little things (mostly paperwork)taken care of, both at the office and at home.

- I made sure things were current on my projects at work
- I paid my phone bill
- I mailed my gas bill
- I paid my property taxes
- I took my DD to her dr's appt.
- I sorted and gathered sufficient papers to do my taxes
- I called and made an appt. with the tax preparer

and, since I got a "same day" appt. with the tax preparer, I got my DD's taxes (her first!) done and, we started on mine!

And that's when the MISTAKE was discovered! Apparently, the previous tax preparer had made some errors in my last year's taxes and now, I might be in trouble with the IRS! shocked I was at the tax preparer's office for over 3 hrs. last night and I need to return today, with more paperwork and information. And, probably, file an amended return for last year.

Deep breaths. And lots of positive thinking.

I need to do more paperwork, this morning, and gather what I will need for my taxes. Then, this afternoon, I have to take DD to campus (she's working). Later, in the evening, I will return to the tax preparer's office. Hopefully, we can finish this year's taxes, today. If not, she's willing to work on them tomorrow, too.
