Gabby, thank you.

DD has a bit of a stomach flu (low grade fever/throwing up), so, she's on a bland, rice/applesauce/milkless tea diet, today. Hopefully, it is a 24 hr. thing.

I'm eating leftovers, so, no cooking (except for fresh rice).

On Friday I'm hosting a party for my brother's birthday, DH's birthday and DS's play. My brother and his family, my family, and my parents will be at our house. We'll have dinner, then see the play, then back to our house for dessert.

I'm having braces put on, due to an accident. DS has braces. My brother is recovering from chemo and surgeries and has gout so his eating is limited. People can pick and choose what they can.

Due to braces I'm making rotini and a couple of pasta sauces. We'll have clam sauce and alfredo. I'll also grill up skewers of shrimp.

For sides we'll do the traditional Caesar salad, garlic bread, and fruit platter.

For dessert we'll do my brothers favorite of Banana Pudding and my husbands favorite cheese cake. I think I'll make a chocolate cookie cream filled cheese cake.

Hope your DD is feeling better, Bless.

Your party sounds amazing, Striving.

I went grocery shopping last night and spent about 200$ and stocked up on alot of basics and heavy items.

i did my 1st real cooking since i got home on the 1st. the only thing i fixed the first 11 days were 1 chef's salad and 4 sandwiches. that's other than nuking a tv dinner or canned chili.

sun night i nuked some mini quiche and fried some corned beef hash and made toast to go w it. mon i baked a heat and serve dutch apple crumb pie and tue i sliced up a tomato, opened acan of green beans and ate those along w 2 frozen beef taquitoes.

i need to defrost something for thu.

I was craving chicken so bought a grilled one for lunch at Costco...only eating the leg and then I was full. Brought it home and used leftovers from all kinds of past meals to make gourmet style chunky chicken salad...blew myself away.

I used leftover red, yellow and orange peppers, onions, celery, apples, pecans, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, red pepper, blue cheese crumbles, salad dressing and sour cream with more spices added than I could count. Both SO and I (he also shared it with 2 co workers!) had for lunch yesterday and now again today. I am also taking it in to work to share with someone else. We are trading meals....she gets salad and I get homemade soup! I like the economy of it and I was able to clear the fridge of things that needed to go too.

Bless, sorry about your loss and also hope DD is feeling better.

Striving, party food sounds tasty yet not too hard on you.....enjoy

Frugal4me: I've had this birthday party/son's performance planned for many weeks. I don't want to back out, but I bet I'll be on some OTC paine relief.
