BL, that must be soooo hard to do everything with one hand! Hope it won't be too long before you have the use of both.

Frugal, we got some snow here, but we already had plenty! That is lovely that you are going to shovel your friends' path. And what a surprise they are going to get after Hawaii!

Time to list my March goals, many of which are carried over:

Basement:
Go through box of picture frames and donate most. Find a place to donate or sell the box of special items, ornaments, etc.
"Toss' the brass fire irons, box of comics. Go through large cardboard box. Go through box of games, etc.
Go through box of dishes, etc. used when we camped. Microwave that needs fixing will be tossed eventually to recycle area of landfill, with note attached explaining what is needed.
Reorganize storage areas, especially all the maple syrup equipment. Possibly move freezer and 'beer fridge'.

Computer room or office:
Supplies of pens, glue sticks, stickies, labels, art materials need to be sorted and stored properly. Closet has stuff which needs organizing.

DS old bedroom/sewing room:
This room still has stuff belonging to DS, also some of my craft supplies and a bin of fabric, some not useful. Closet needs sorting, also the two small cases and box with loads of photos!

Our bedroom:
Still need to toss some jewellery items. Some are already set aside but not listed as tossed yet.

Donations: A lot of stuff waiting to leave the house, and I shall probably phone the people who are organizing a spring sale to get it stored by them.

Maple syrup: This is DH's thing but of course I am equally involved. We shall start tapping any day soon and already all the pails are out and DH is checking his new (used) filter press. Trails to maple trees have been established on snow shoes.

Decorating: We need to find someone to paint and get some work done inside the house, but this will have to wait and I have a sneaky suspicion that it will wait and wait!

Health: Visit optician. Continue with counselling.

Exercise: continue to park in centre of town and walk around to the places I need to go. Walk to mailbox most days, or go snowshoeing.

Personal development: Two projects already started - a personal history and a project to make video of photos and videos from time overseas.

Family: Special time with DH - meal out, watch movie, snowshoe or walk together. Continue weekly calls to DSF. Contact with DS and family, snail mail to DGD. March break weekend, family arriving for two nights.

Spiritual: Continue to get to Friday mass and breakfast as well as Sunday mass. Continue with daily Bible reading and Lenten reading. Still wondering about a prayer group to join, but this may not be the time.

Beaglelady - I hope your arm heals quickly for you until then enjoy being waiting on by SO wink

Bushlady and Carol that is a whole lot of a list good luck this month.

Mother Christmas - Here is hoping March is a better month for you.

My goals are:

Family goals:
*Date night with DH once a week quality time at least

*Monthly muckerteers meeting

*Weekly visit to granddad

*Memorial event of some kind for my nan it will be a year on the 16th since she passed.

*Weigh up pros and cons of my cousins idea to get a tattoo to mark the muckers and nan. She has designed a big star with 3 small stars underneath. The big star is to represent nan and the 3 others me, DA and her. It is a lovely idea and design but as I have never had a tattoo or wanted one really, I am so not sure.

Health Goals
*Focus on eating more healthily and exercising 3 times a week

House and garden
Not sure what I want to do this month I will come back to this

College
*Complete new assignment for the 8th

Friends
*Weekly meeting with the girls

That is it for now! smile

Karen, if you think you will be able to live with a tattoo when you are 70, then go for it. But I can't imagine what one would look like now on my old skin, lol!

I hear they hurt! I agree with Bushlady! If your cousin wants it let her get it, you have your nan in your heart. (((HUGS))).

Finished my cowl that I crocheted today.

Wow! What a weekend! I'm pooped, my body is sore, and we're still not finished. That house we were living in was HUGE! We didn't REALLY realize it until we had to clean it thoroughly this weekend all within a couple days timespan. And, so much stuff. We have purged over 1,000 items, and we are going to have to purge some more to make it all fit in our new place.

Everything that I did this weekend in regards to my goals' list revolved around moving. Here's my progress so far.

March goals:

Old House:
- Move all the remaining "tidbits" from old house to new by March 10th.
- Clean old house completely by March 10th
- Do yardwork at old house by March 10th
- Turn in keys and garage door opener by March 10th

New House:
- Empty boxes
- Finish lining shelves
- Purchase little necessities for new home (ie, command hooks, more shelf liner, etc.)
- Find a workable solution for office/craft room
- Type walk through list to give to property manager
- Arrange for Direct TV to be transferred

We are 98% finished up at the old house. We have about an hour of cleaning left to do with both DD and I working on it, and then move the remaining things that we have there. We put everything into the garage that is left to be moved. I'd say we probably have 2-3 more trips with the car. We'll finish it up sometime during this week.

The State Writing tests did arrive Friday morning to me, BUT one of them is missing so now I have to do some scrambling to get another one by testing time on Tuesday. It's going to be interesting that's for sure. I don't know why they just can't put an extra one in each package just in case they've miscounted when the send them to us. It sure would save a lot of frustration on our end of things.

Well Carol with all the rest you are doing, why not suggest that! Sounds like you and yoru kids did an awesome job on the moving. You should be proud and look at all you accomplished, not what is left (enjoy it for a day at least! LOL).

~~~~~~~~
Finished my crocheting project for me, and working on the next item for donations.
Carol, at this rate you are competing with the "queens of organizing". You have accomplished so much, good for you. Eventually you will be able to sit back and enjoy summer!
Bushlady and Diana - That is what I keep thinking - how it will look when I am old. My cousin has 5 already and my aunt has a couple, but they are something I have thought about before and decided against. I guess I am torn because it is something representing the three of us plus nan. I have decided I am going to ask my cousin if I can have the design she has drawn and frame it instead. Like you say my nan is always in my heart. My aunt and cousin know I will always be there for them I don't need a tattoo to prove that. Thanks ladies smile
Well that is one thing off the list of goals decision made on the tattoo.
Carol - look at you go! good luck getting the additional writing test.
Carol, wooo hooo....keep it up gal then send some of that energy to me!
Karen, funny you talk about that. SO's mom and his 2 sisters all got a small tattoo on their forearm of a ladybug, She did this about 5 years ago and she is going to be 74! If its small and tasteful and you want it, then go for it. I am a woose(spelling?)....I do not like the pain and will not get one at this point....to knowingly be awake while someone hits your repeatedly with a needle....NOT for me! SO had a small tweety bird just under where his watchband sits from over 30 yrs ago. He just had yosemite sam tatooed over that and it covers half his lower arm. Sam is shooting 2 pistols in the air and his kids names are in the smoke coming from the guns....very cool. but again, that is his choice, not mine.
thank you all for the well wishes. I am working through the challenges of one handed-ness. Had the weekend off per the dr and go back to work on wednesday, just taking it easy in the meantime.
Karen....I think your idea of framing the design is wonderful.
I honestly don't feel like one of the "queens of organizing" at this point. I think I'm feeling more like the ring leader of a 3 ring circus and nobody knows which ring to go to. crazy
It will all come together....somehow....eventually.
After this week, I should be able to take a breather (of sorts) to get things together around here. I have Tues and Wed devoted to getting all of the 4th and 7th graders writing test completed. And, I have until the 10th to be completely out of the old house. Then, it will be back to my usual crazy schedule for a few days. Hurray!
