Have a lovely party, Bless.

The internet was acting up yesterday just as I was trying to log in, so I decided to take the easy way out and gave up.

Went to mass and breakfast with friend, went to the bank and grocery store
Phoned DSF
Did two lots of laundry
Cleaned powder room (that place that has more oil and grease coming in than powder, lol)
Did some puttering and unearthed a mattress pad that isn't needed, also a pair of drapes.
Tossed some other stuff. Found a frame for a cute 3 dimensional greeting card and put it on the wall. Found another frame for an embroidered picture that I once got in a penny sale.

Saturday:
Dailies
Launder new sheets - started
Run dishwasher - done
Wash hair
Library - renew books
Check drug store for earring that I think I might have lost there
Clean bathroom
Take apart crib and get it down to the basement. Not sure if it should go to the rummage sale I am saving things for, even though a drop-side ban isn't in effect yet in Canada. I've found some great ideas on-line for repurposing a crib, but not sure I need it hanging around waiting for action!

Good morning, all. Thanks for the party well wishes. smile I'm trying to pace myself, today.

- Mopped the kitchen, late last night (1:00 a.m.), before going to bed.

Up and having a cup of coffee. Have all these "to do" thoughts floating around in my head! So, please, bear with me!

- Cats have been fed & watered (I do that before I sit down to have my own cup of coffee)
- Eggs have been put to boil
- Beef curry has been put out to thaw
- 2 chickens put to thaw, too - even though I had them thawing in the fridge since Wed. night, they are both frozen solid, still! I know they say don't keep on the counter to thaw, but that's what I am doing now! I need them thawed in time to roast them for dinner!

I have 30 mins. before I have to take DD to gymnastics. Off to start cutting the vegetables.

I'll be popping in and out during the day. Have a great day, all.

Yesterday ended up being a bun-baking frenzy! LOL I did 4 batches and ended up with about 15 doz buns. I freeze them and they stay fresh that way. I shouldn't need to repeat that task for a few weeks now.

For today -
- show Mom's former home to a young couple who might be interested in buying it. We know this young man and his family. Mom has decided that she will not be returning to live in it again so she is OK with the idea of it being sold
- baby steps tossing and reorganizing in my living room
- baby steps sewing on my quilt
- laundry - 1 load of towels
- d/w - finish filling, run, empty and start refilling
- other tasks?

Just ETEd and then gave Gypsy a haircut. She really needed it.
Worked on beading and crocheting also.

The party went off very well. The first guests arrived a bit early at my request (I needed a bit of help from them) at 7:30 p.m.; the last guests left at 1:00 a.m. laugh By the time DD and I had put away the food, run a load of dishes, and cleaned up a bit, it was past 3:00 a.m. We went to bed at 3:30 a.m.!

Up at 9:30 a.m., today. Having a slow morning, just relaxing and talking. Will do more ETEing in the afternoon, when DD goes to spend the afternoon with friends.

JDIs for today:

- Put chairs etc., back in place
- Sweep/vacuum floors
- Unload dish washer/put away dishes
- Wash the big pots and pans
- Freeze some of the food
- Laundry

Hope you can sell your DM's house to people you are happy with, Darlene.

I can just imagine Gypsy sitting in a chair with a little nylon cape around her getting her trim!

Glad the party went well, Bless. I bet you enjoyed talking it over today.

I was up and dressed early enough to hard cook some eggs for sandwiches for lunch and make the marinade for some chicken wings for supper tonight, and still got to church in good time. Dropped off at a store for some specials on bulk paper goods and garbage bags on the way home, before they run out, as I don't always get in to shop.

Just had a nap. I am not sure whether to brave the cold and snowshoe for about 15 minutes or just get into some sewing. Have to stick my nose out and see what I think!

Update from yesterday -
- show Mom's former home to a young couple who might be interested in buying it They liked what they saw; they said they are going to see if they can get a bank loan to purchase
- baby steps tossing and reorganizing in my living room
- baby steps sewing on my quilt
- laundry - 1 load of towels

In addition, I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with my brothers. We found out yesterday that there is a flu bug in the LTC where our Mom is and that she is being quarantined because she is sick. She isn't seriously ill and will likely make a speedy recovery. In fact, it looks like she may be getting over it already.

I'm taking it easy today. After all, today is Sunday supposedly a day of rest.
- church followed by a pot luck meal (I took a dozen of my home made buns)
- more sewing on my quilt
- baby steps reorganizing my living room?
- rest!

Darlene:
Glad mom is almost over the flu.
Totally agree with you about a day of rest, even the Lord took one!

Bushlady:
I just put her on a towel and grab the hair as I cut it! No fancy dancy shop things. LOL

~~~~~~~~~
Did an ETE in the laundry room. Moved the embroidery machine into the craft room. Moved out the yarn and will put some of the pots I use (larger) ones into that cabinet. A very large pot is going into the basement. Only use it when I make a large amount of spaghetti sauce for the holidays, etc. Use to make that at least once a month when we were a family.
Have an extremely busy week this week, took on a couple of things to help at the Center this week. St. Patty's day sales at the luncheon, (jewelry profits go to the Seniors) and also helping with a puff pastry class on Sat., along with the regular classes and groups that I meet with! Have to keep up on the house, as I have UFP this week too on Friday.
