Darlene, your DM is fortunate that you understand her needs and are willing to give your time to her, especially as she is still only just getting to know the staff at the LTC.
Yesterday DH went snowshoeing on our woodlot but I didn't feel up to joining him, since it would be a longer outing and I had just woken from a nap. But I did find that the perfect opportunity to get the downstairs dusting and vacuuming done. It had been neglected somewhat, so I made sure to do the upholstery as well. Behind a door in the corridor I even found a couple of dustbunnies that were so large I could almost see their teeth!
Did some ironing in the evening, and made bead tiebacks for the drapes in the room that I sew and iron in. (DS bedroom when they visit).
Today: Dailies Hairwash - done Haircut and shopping - done Outing with DH to pick up maple sap pails - done, and dropped off stuff to animal shelter on the way. Pork tenderloin in oven, now to prepare the rest of the meal Decluttering or sewing or reading

Boy have I been busy since hubby came home. I guess I signed on for this (if we were lucky) 52 years ago. I am now A DIETICIAN, Nutritionist and a full time making from scratch cook.A phsrmacist grouping all the new medication. A full time phsycologist in geriatrics making sure he "behaves well" but never diminishing his own resposibilities. He is losing weight(goody) and we are getting his sugar down to a nice level. ME.and my JDI,s. Cleaned up kitchen. emptied my pantry and organized in a health conscious way. I must say this has been easy for me because I have always had an interest in this field. His health problems are in the heart so much more depends on it now. It was never a dietry problem but no chances talken now. Laundry always . Try to give Charlie some exercise. Most important take 15 mins to meditate .I have to be very careful that I do not get overwhelmed. So another busy day and I must learn more about pacing. Glad you are there guys .all of you. But Cyd in Thailand Thanks for your remarks. To all my doggy and kitty friends (never bite the hand that feeds you) you are all so lucky. Ann 39

Bushlady, thanks for the compliment although I also have selfish reasons for doing what I do with and for DM. For whatever time she has left with us, I want to be certain that I am left with as few regrets as possible after she is gone. I know that I will never regret spending time with her even if my house suffers because of that.
Yesterday I did a tiny little bit in my sewing room. Discovered that 1 pair of jeans does not need shortening (the dryer did it for me!) and measured how much to shorten a second pair. A third pair still needs to be tried on and marked. And I pulled out the top and bottom for the quilt that I want to finish.
In addition, I finished the laundry and accompanied DH on a trip to see his doctor.
For today - - online commitments - morning and evening - baby steps reorganizing my living room (ROTM) - sewing baby steps (ongoing projects started yesterday) - other tasks?

Ann, you must have posted while I was typing my post. It's so good to hear that your DH is home again. I agree that taking care of yourself and your DH need to be your prime focus.

Darlene, you are right to spend as much time with your DM as you can. You will have few regrets knowing that you did everything you could. The house work will wait. Ann: Lovely to hear that DH is back at home. You sound like you are handling his care very nicely! It's easy to get overwhelmed, so I am glad to hear that you are taking some time for yourself, too. Bushlady: Ooh, watch out for those dust bunnies! ********************* Since March is here, it's time to close this thread. Come join me in the March JDI thread, everyone.
