@dianaro- Murf is doing great. He started back to daycare Weds mornings. That has helped his winter slump. He missed the dog park and DH does too. They put the big and small dogs together in the winter park and Murf is not a fan of big dogs. Thanks for asking.

There are new rules for Guardians in my County for 2012. One of the corporate guardians stole monday from several clients over a period of time and they finally caught up with him. That happened early in 2011 and he is first going to trial in March in the same County Court which seems like a conflict of interest. There has been a lot of bad press about the guy and many people posting on FB how bad guardians are. We cannot defend ourselves because it would reveal too many details about our clients. I am hoping someone will write something about the good Guardians do for people.
I set up a receipt file for each client and will fit as many receipts as I can on the printer and print a copy as I go. The court will be doing random audits on cases beginning 2012. For 2013 I may send a copy of all the receipts and canceled checks along with my annual reports.
We spent the day with friends yesterday. They live 2 hours South and we had a nice drive and visit. Sturgeon fishing opened yesterday so we saw a lot of shantys on the lake on the way down. It was a cold day for ice fishing. Today we are having a 'home' day. Even Murf is tired today.

Frugal: More rules and regulations! I can understand why, but it makes it hard on people who do a great job, like YOU!
Gald you had a good time with your friends.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ I vegged all day and am raring to go today. Sometimes we need that, a day off. I had company both Friday and Sat., and just was pooped yesterday, so I read, watched the hallmark channel and crocheted, and then watched the emmy's last night. So glad Adele won, LOVE her!
I dunno Frugal ~ most people I know would be happy to have Monday stole from them! couldn't resist teasing you on your typo.. seriously, in every occupation there is/are those who give everyone a bad rap. but those like you who excel at what you do just shine through. We just wish everyone could have a guardian like you... ((HUGS))
It's mid Feb and I realize i have yet to post any goals.... At this point it can be narrowed down to:
*get better *survive *thrive
Maureen, those are great goals to have! Frugal: I, too, hope that someone will speak up for guardians like you who do so much for their clients. However, I have to agree with Maureen - I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to steal my Mondays!
I did my presentation this morning on Time Management "How to Get Everything Done without Losing Your Mind". It went very good. We were cut short on time due to an earlier presenter running long, but I was able to cover each of my points briefly and had some wonderful feedback from the teachers. I'm thinking about doing a recorded session with just my presentation and going more in-depth. I haven't decided yet, just in the thought process right now. I gave a lot of practical tips whereas the other presented gave more of the "be sure to make time for yourself" which is great in theory, but how do you DO that when you've got 80 hours of work to do.
Anyway, onto my Weekend Goals list. I didn't get everything done, but I suppose that should have been expected since I did have pretty lofty plans when I made the list. I did take a trip into the city with DD on Saturday and that wasn't even on my list, but it was a nice respite for both of us.
Household/Personal: - laundry - balance checkbook - empty firewood from trunk of car load trunk with either 1-trash to take to dump ( Will do this next weekend as the dump is in the town where X lives and DD will be visiting him so I have to go there anyway to pick her up or 2-donations to take to church thrift store - Pack non-essentials from office - Pack non-essentials in kitchen - Move packed boxes to garage for easier loading on moving day - Get box ready to mail to R's Colorado brother
DD: - Grade essays - Call music shop about new clarinet Waiting for call back
Work: - Get STAR Patches ready for mailing - Attendance - Progress updates - Get Monday Memo ready - Put DD's next concert on the outings list - Start compiling Work Samples - Enter notes from Face to Face meetings
Congratultions Carol, I KNEW you would give a wonderful and helpful presentation. Proud GONer mom! WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!
Frugal, I laughed because I read he stole money! LOL Glad to hear Murf is doing good. Gypsy doesn't go out if it is too cold or snowy so when we can go out, she runs out of the garage, it is so funny~poor baby, but I would loose her in the snow, and she doesn't like it anyhow~ LOl
