@Carol- congratulations on being chosen to present to your group. I bet when you start writing down all the things you do, you will be amazed.

Good Luck on the move.

I think I'll call our rant session "Brainstorming". That sounds good! smile

So far I've only worked on one thing on my goals list, but it's a big one and instead of doing 1/2, I did the whole thing. Yes, my craft room is all purged and packed. HURRAY! And, what a LOT of stuff! I had DD in there with me. She was actually working on Valentine's for her friends, but when I came upon something that I couldn't decide about, she helped with the decisions. Some of the things I've been hanging on to for years and years and moved from house to house hoping to get to using them in my crafts "someday". Well, they're being passed along to someone else and if my "someday" ever comes, I'll just have to go buy the supplies again. Better than carrying them around with me for another 10 years. wink

Doing wonderful in yyour planning of goals ladies!

Bushlady:
One thing at a time!

Carol:
I agree with Kimberly about the "rant" session....have another teacher to speak with and get different perspectives and ideas.
YOU are perfect for giving a talk, and what a nice compliment.
They know a good and organized person and envy you doing all that you do. I say take the glory and share a little.

Frugal:
You are one busy gal. How is the dog doing?

~~~~~~~~~
I started working on the candy today. Want to finish that up before I bake. Figure a couple of batches of cookies and that should be done in a day or two.
Carol, Good on you, you're obviously highly thought of by your colleagues. Brainstorming is what we do here too! Hint for craft projects is to write a deadline on the materials, if not done by that date, pass it on to bless someone who will enjoy getting it done.
My new target is to make an appointment with myself to work on a project, writing it in my day-timer like every Sunday 7 - 9 PM. Only then can I buy the products needed. It sounds nutty but its working until I screw it up by taking an out-of-country contract.
I bet you are exposed to some interesting crafts in Thailand!
Good for you in exploring so many countries. WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO! I realize you have to work, but not the entire day. Are you doing any sightseeing?
Working on making the candy this weekend. Hoping to finish up tomorrow, and then start baking some cookies to send out.
Carol:
Good for you. Sometimes that is the way to go on crafts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Was able to cross off a few things on the goals. Felt good.
Much more to do, but each babysteps completes the list.

I completed all of my weekend goals with the exception of one and a tweaking of two others.

HOME:
- Purge and pack 1/2 of craft room Packed the ENTIRE craft room grin
- Laundry

WORK:
- Prepare for face to face meetings to be held this week
- Prepare "Getting it all done without losing your mind" presentation for Feb. 13th meeting (I think it's funny that this is the one particular goal that I didn't complete. wink )

PERSONAL:
- Color hair
- Go to the city tomorrow with DD (Girl Time) This is the one I changed. We went to Yosemite instead. It was AWESOME! There was nobody there because of Super Bowl Sunday so we basically had the whole place to ourselves. We laid down in the meadow and took tons of pictures. It was beautiful and a much needed escaped for a little while!

I am in dire need of some goals: I have been listless except for going and coming from work, laundry, and groceries. I do not like to exist this way. As I explained in another thread. I am back to this forum after 2-3 years absence due to having to return to work as full time RN. (the economy)

I am tired of flying by the seat of my pants. So here are some of my Feb goals/plans:

CAREER:
*Plan trip to Boston. Buy tickets if I decide to go. For continuing education credits.
*Decide on what my second career will be. Start taking classes for certification.

PERSONAL:
Continue diet program.
Exercise at least 20 minutes daily.
Get bike fixed at shop.
Drink 1 gallon of water a day.
Read 30 minutes a day for pleasure.
Sleep 8 hrs a night.
Eat according to my plan. Call a friend if I feel like over-eating.

HOME:
Continue to streamline laundry.
I will make notes in another thread regarding this.
Continue to clean out closets: office closet is next. Then DD's closets.

GARDEN:
Spring in Fla.: start with "safer" pool deck area. Decide which plants need to go outside, and sketch out a pool deck plan with furniture.

Plant seeds I just got, around pool perimeter.
Have teens dig up plants I cut down, and then order pavers to be installed around Magnolia tree.

Cut Magnolia tree branches. higher to allow for tall men. Hang string lights from tree branches. And find a big outdoor candelabra to hang from the branches, or several smaller ones.

Install pavers. (have installed)

Buy an outdoor table/chairs set....that can stand the rain, sprinklers and sun.

Decide on tall teracotta planters to define the perimeter of the outdoor dining area. planters about 3-4 feet tall. Only need 2, or maybe three. Buy from the outlet: where they are cheaper.

Install concrete block steps to the paved area.

MARRIAGE AND FRIENDS:
* Plan fun Valentine date for next weekend.
* send Valentines baskets and cards to my kids and spouse.
* Send Valentines cards to my best friends.

HOBBIES:
Finish scarf I almost finished this weekend. Send it to DD, asap.
Make a post it: detailed "house projects" sticky board. List these things on it.

Abundance, your mention of the Magnolia gave this snowbound Canadian a glimpse of spring, even if we can't grow them where I live!

I have two small February goals accomplished - the pantry is organised to my satisfaction, and I have tidied my night table and moved out some things that belong elsewhere.

Bushlady, your mention of pantry organization had me remembering how frustrated I felt having to repeat this task. Finally I hit on the idea of labeling shelf 'sections' and viola...solved. I could ask for the can of pineapple rings for upside down cake, and the guys could find it p-d-q. I realized I was the worst pantry muddle-r, just off loading items as quickly as possible. It didn't help that DSs moved stuff to get at the desired cereal or snacks.

When there's a label it feels easy to use the plan.
