Oh Diana....I know exactly how that is about the phone message (although mine is not the incoming one). I have 4 messages saved on my cell phone and 3 saved on my house phone all from R. They aren't even nice messages because they are from when we were fighting, but I can't bear to erase them. I haven't listened to them in a month or so, but it's comforting to know that I can.

A friend of mine suggested that she would sell my wedding dress for me in her shop in town to make some much needed money for me, but I cannot part with it. It just hangs in the closet, but it serves as a reminder to me that R really did love me and he really did want to marry me and we really did plan a wedding. And, yes, I will be taking it with me when we move. I still "need" it with me.

As for February goals, this is just a very rough, general list:

WORK
- Hold Face to Face conferences with all of my students
- Attend 2 classes on implementing Words Their Way with students and complete homework
- Continue making plans for State Testing location

HOME
- Pack the entire house
- Arrange moving van
- Arrange transferring of utilities
- Clean
- Change of address with Post Office

DD
- Register for SAT

Carol:
You keep what you need to.

I gathered up the candy making items and brought them up.
Hoping to do that on the weekend, as the packages will have to be mailed next week in order to get there on time.

Cannot wait to see everyone's goals for this month!

My goals are going to be more or less the same as in Jan., with a few minor adjustments.

- Declutter - Schedule donations pick up
- Organize files - get tax documents ready

Spiritual:

Personal:

- Make my health a priority (set up medical appts.) - scheduled eye exams for both DD and I, and a dental appt. for myself (broke a tooth on Sunday p.m.)
- Update wardrobe

Others:
- Cousin's b'day; e-mailed and called.
- Spend some US time with DD; plan her b'day party
- Spend some family time with the extended family
- Spend some time with friends/neighbors - Called and spoke with 1 neighbor

Time Management:

- Become better at managing my time!

Time to write up my February goals:

Time management: Need to work on this!

Pantry: reorganize - stuff seems to be out of order and hard to find - I guess I have just thrown things in there!

Basement:
Go through box of picture frames and donate most. Find a place to donate or sell the box of special items, ornaments, etc.
"Toss' the brass fire irons, box of comics. Go through large cardboard box. Go through box of games, etc.
Go through box of dishes, etc. used when we camped. Decide on microwave that needs fixing.
Reorganize storage areas, especially all the maple syrup equipment. Possibly move freezer and 'beer fridge'. -

Computer room or office:
Supplies of pens, glue sticks, stickies, labels, art materials need to be sorted and stored properly. Closet has stuff which needs organizing.

DS old bedroom/sewing room:
This room still has stuff belonging to DS, also some of my craft supplies and a bin of fabric, some not useful. Closet needs sorting, also the two small cases and box with loads of photos!

Our bedroom:
Still need to toss some jewellery items. My bedside dresser needs sorting.

Decorating: We need to find someone to paint and get some work done inside the house.

Exercise: continue to park in centre of town and walk around to the places I need to go. Walk to mailbox most days, or go snowshoeing.

Personal development: may accept request to join choir. Need to get into creative stuff, painting or writing.

Family: Special time with DH - meal out, watch movie, snowshoe or walk together. Continue weekly calls to DSF. Contact with DS and family, snail mail to DGD.

Spiritual: Try to get to a weekday mass occasionally as well as Sundays. Continue with daily Bible reading. Looking for prayer group to join.

I know I need to make a list for the month of February.
So that is goal #1 by the end of the weekend --make a list for the rest of the month.

Interesting development regarding work. One of the Regional Lead Teachers has asked me to present at out next Professional Development on Feb. 13th on tips on how to get everything done. While I'm totally flattered, I'm also kind of shocked that they think I've got my act together and am doing a good job of being organized and can share tips with the other teachers. She said, "You're a great teacher. You homeschool your daughter. You're a great mom. And, you do it all by yourself. I'm sure you have some helpful tips that you can pass along."

I haven't really thought about the HOW I do it, I just do it. But, now I need to figure out the HOW so I can present this to others. My DS says that I need to make sure to tell them all to include a daily "rant" session with another teacher because that is how he keeps his sanity with this job. (He calls me EVERY day and complains for at least 30 minutes to get it all out and not take it out on students, families and other teachers.) I can just see that going over NOT too well with the Admin at the meeting. LOL

On the moving front, we are going to try to move a week earlier than originally planned. The condo is empty already so it's not a problem on that end. The only thing we need to see about is if DS will be available to help us the weekend of Feb 25th instead of March 3. The main reason for moving earlier is.......we want to be warm. LOL

My weekend goals:

HOME:
- Purge and pack 1/2 of craft room
- Laundry

WORK:
- Prepare for face to face meetings to be held this week
- Prepare "Getting it all done without losing your mind" presentation for Feb. 13th meeting

PERSONAL:
- Color hair
- Go to the city tomorrow with DD (Girl Time)
