Not lots to report as with weird working hours, visiting kid and puppy, and just trying to get day to day things done, the tossing is slow.
As I posted on another topic, had SO's son and his 3 month old puppy, Lily this past weekend. I had been going through a bookcase in the living room for things to donate and set 6 books on the floor. While I was at work, Lily found them and thought they made a tasty snack! So they ended up going to the trash!
Also managed to toss a couple pair of socks, some assorted papers and magazines. So's son had a few friends over and in their excitment playing pool in the basement, a few extra glasses and plates found their way into the trash when one of the kids tripped and fell on the table with the food on it. Yes he was fine, but lost 4 glasses and plates in the process. Since they were extras put down there.....I say goodbye to them happily!
new total......350!

I'm not exactly "tossing" this item, but it's leaving my possession so I am counting it. Back in November, one of my Kindergarten students made a tree out of a shoebox, toilet paper roll, brown paper bag, etc. for an art project. I usually have them bring them to our meetings to show me, and then have them take them back home. This little cutey wanted me to take it with me to put in my office. I told her that I would take it and bring it back to her at our next meeting. So.....today's the day. The tree is going back to it's rightful owner and outta my office! I'm so thankful that I'm meeting with her BEFORE our move because I didn't NOT want to take that thing with me to our new home. It's cute and all, but .... 864 previous total + one tree = 865 items tossed

BL: Glad the boy wasn't hurt, and I agree, those extra dishes, etc can be lost/tossed easily.
Carol: She will appreciate that you have kept her gift so long. I hear you on the gift type things.
Just tossing the usual recycling, but with the master closet in the Branches next week, I will have more. So far I have two large leaf bags full of items, that need to be taken to GW, but will wait until the closet is done and bring it all at once. I forgot to bring the bags the other day, was too rushed with time constraints also.

Beaglelady, your broken glasses and dishes reminded me of Bless and her suggestion of using a cat to get rid of excess breakables! Seems children work just as well. Glad he didn't hurt himself.
Carol, it was great that you kept the tree and solved the problem by telling her she could have it back. Children create the most loving clutter, but she is not even your DGD!
Tossed:
3 books 2 pairs magnifying reading glasses 2 screwdrivers 1 corkscrew
161 + 8 = 169

Oh My! I nearly traded one item for TWO from my dear little cute student yesterday. She brought in two more things that she made, which were wonderfully created. One was made of clay, and she wanted me to take it home so that she could get more clay for her house. Luckily, her parents told her that she could still have more clay. Pheww! The other was a wonderful nest that she had made from a garbage bag and paper shreds. Again, her parents came to my rescue and told her that it would be a great "nest" for their chickens. She is just the cutest thing and her creations are really full of detail (especially for a kindergarten student), but I just don't have the room for them. Try explaining that to a 5 year old though. More tossing is on the agenda for this weekend. Moving day is fast approaching.

Wow... I haven't posted on here in a long time. Life has been rather busy around here and not much has actually "left" my house. The next thing I want to "toss" is a flu bug. Apparently there's one in the area that takes about 10 days for the body to fight it off. Yuck - I've been feeling sickly since last Sat so I suspect I have that one Since my last report, I have gotten rid of 2 books (sold), 1 desk (sold) and 1 piece of fabric (made into nightgowns for Mom). I have a bunch of stuff set aside for tossing but I don't count those things until I actually get them out of my house. 1878 - 4 = 1875
