Too bad about the filing cabinet if you love it, Carol. We have a secondhand oak desk in the basement that DH loves, but I can't imagine it in any other room of any house or apartment as it is humungous. Fortunately we don't have to think about moving it right now.
Well, it is really babysteps all the way on my January goals, but I can see some progress, and there are still 12 days to go. If I ignore some tasks like washing the lamp shades in the dining room mentioned in JDI, I can concentrate on the tossing/organizing. One bedroom has a lot of stuff scattered around as I do this. I have stuff waiting to go out, but to be added to.

Well, I'm not sure if I reported but DS taught me how to use my photo services. Even made instruction sheets for me with pictures. It took some repetitive practice and I stayed up very late sharing pics, after I scoured hundreds of pics that have been saved on my harddrive/server.
Then I was able to find pics from a trip I hadn't seen with the other pics during this same vacation, so I was a happy camper. They were DH's computer and I had to go through each groupings to find my group! That is why I had wanted a camera for myself so that it wasn't shared with business stuff.

I'm not doing so well at making goals for the month lately so I'm making goals for the weekend right now. Here's my goal list for this weekend:
Work (Yes, I'm working this weekend since DD is gone.): - Reminders to two families regarding contracts - Draft face to face meeting scheduling emails - Write weekly newsletter - Finish Assignment Sheets and prepare for mailing
Personal: - Taxes (Hurray! I received my W-2 today so I can get my taxes done ASAP and hopefully get my refund quickly so I can use it to move.) - Finish clearing out "the" closet and my bedroom closet. - Get DD's schoolwork graded and compiled together for meeting with her counselor on Tuesday.

I am seeing some progress on January goals. DH had taken over a decorative box and put some files in it in the basement, and I figured that if I could find him another box, I could take it over (sneaky). I did manage to shift some stuff around to empty another strong cardboard box, and I now have the decorative box with cards and other memorabilia in it. I still want to go through the stuff and weed out some one day.
While I was in the basement I found some items to toss, and repacked a plastic storage bin with lifejackets and other sailing related gear.
Went through a drawer of art materials and didn't toss much but rediscovered an urge to paint!
Sorted through some craft materials and other stuff on a plastic storage unit and it is now ready for further action. Sometimes it is just knowing what is where and then revisiting for a good purge, if I am too tired at the first visit to make many decisions.
I feel that I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. There is a huge amount to do, but a lot is clarified in some areas.

Hurray! Hurray! One thing crossed off my "weekend" goal list. My taxes are done and filed. Just waiting for the refund to hit my bank account now.

I feel that way too, Bushlady...look things over and then readdress them when rested.
Good for you Californiagirl
I learned how to make photo albums to share on websites that require smaller sizes/bites. So I've been practicing.

Everyone is doing so good! Like the weekend challenges.
~~~~~~~~~ I did my babystep in the basement. Gathered up some boxes for ornaments I am doing so when I finish them I can put tissue around them, and put them into gift boxes....
Worked on two more craft projects. I get frustrated that they take so much longer than I think they should. LOL I have to plan about a week for each one I guess, and they are the easy ones.
